[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;] Cale blinked at his master, and then his bloody claws. As if only then realizing what he had done, his eyes bugged wide,"I-I didn't.."he choked out, in complete shock of what he had done, and he began to tremble all over,"I didn't... I..." [/fancypost]

Miles clenched his jaw. He slipped his hands under Cale and picked him up, holding him as if he were the most precious thing in the world. Like he could break at any second because he was so fragile. "You're okay." He murmured in a hushed voice.
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;] "I'm sorry,"he whimpered,"I'm... i-i.. m-may I return to my room please...?"the neko hiccuped,"Please, just for a little bit... I-I need to calm down..."[/fancypost][fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;]Text[/fancypost]

Miles didn't say yes, simply started to walk in the direction of Cale's room. Tac looked up, glowering at Cale. "Thanks for the mess to clean up." He glanced at the blood streaks on the floor. Miles shut him up with a quick, pissed off glare. When he got to the bedroom door, he pushed it open. Despite the situation, a laugh escaped him. "Cute." He set Cale down, hurrying to get a cloth from the restroom.
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;] Cale shrunk further in on himself at Tac's remark, remaining small and meek the entire way back to his room. He felt like he was walking up to the butchering block, even if it was just his room. On near silent feet, Cale wiped himself off with his shirt and padded towards his bed, slinking beneath and beginning to tuck himself away in his fort. [/fancypost]
-
Miles chose a dark-colored towel and wet it with warm water, then walked back out. He blew out an airy whistle, impressed. "I didn't know it was possible to mess up a room in under a day." He managed a faint smile, trying, and failing, to lighten the mood. He softly dropped onto his knees. "Don't get lost, come here."
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;] Cringing at the statement, Cale reluctantly obeyed and slipped back out from his nest, his eyes down and his tail twitching nervously, "Sorry sir,"he said in a timid voice, "I-i didn't... I can put it back on thebed if you'd rather, Sir."[/fancypost]
-
Miles shook his head. "That's not what I meant. It's kind of cute." He said mindlessly. He delicately lifted Cale's hand and wiped the blood from his fingers. He exhaled loudly, his perfect posture slinking down as he sat on the floor. "It's been a long day, hasn't I?" He was more asking himself, not selfishly assuming the Cale was in the right position to talk. His lips thinned as he continued. "Luckily that bastard will get at least ONE scar on his body."
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;] "He deserved it,"he whispered, before he could help himself, and he winced when he recalled how Miles had tried to defend Issac from an attack, "Sorry sir,"he said a bit quickly,"I-I know he's your brother, but..."[/fancypost]
-
Miles barked out a short laugh. "Yeah right, Brother? He lost that title when he killed our parents, Cale. He lost the title of son, brother, friend, kind, caring, giving, I even thought he was perfect." He scoffed. He didn't want to talk more, but it was so tempting to let all of the pent up feelings since he was a child go.
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;] Cale looked at him, his eyes widening,"He... killed your parents?"Cale echoed in horror,"What-- why didn't he face legal consequences? Isn't that what happens when a human kills another human?"[/fancypost]
-
Miles bit down on his tongue, trying not to speak. Not to let himself go. That would be disastrous. "An Accident." He hesitantly looked up. "He made it look like an accident." He frowned, recalling rotten memories. "I watched him set fire to the house." An unbearable silence filled the air. "Pretty messed up, right? Stuff like that only happens in stories." He laughed lightly. Stuff like that should ONLY happen in stories.
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;] "Oh,"Cale whispered, gnawing on his lip as he ducked his head a bit, pulling his hand in close to his chest when Miles was done with it. "I watched people come in and kill my mom,"he told him quietly, as if it was the same thing, "She had too many owners... they slit her throat."[/fancypost][fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;]Text[/fancypost]
-
Miles fell silent, listening to Cale. What? He stared at Cale, a faint look of disgust in is eyes. "What do you mean, 'many owners'. So what if no one wanted her, they wouldn't leave her be?" Just the thought of having 'owners' terrified him, what has this boy been through?
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;] Cale shrugged slightly,"When a cat had eighteen owners, that current owner has the option to... put them down, I guess. No, they wouldn't have left her be, because humans can't leave anything be,"Cale said weakly, if a bit furiously,"Her chores were done for the day, and we were having dinner in our family hut when the men in suits barged in."[/fancypost]
-
Miles didn't have to ask what happened after that. He already knew, and it was slightly infuriating. Why had he not been told about this? He never knew that this happened! "What." he swallowed discreetly. "What number are... you on?"
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;] Cale's throat bobbed as he looked down, the skin around his eyes tightening,"You're my fifteenth, sir,"he told him carefully,"It's... its all in my papers, sir." [/fancypost]
-
"The ones that I tucked away somewhere..." Miles groaned. What a stupid move. "Look," He grabbed Cale's hand. "In this respect, you can trust me. I'm not going to let you go If you don't want to."
-
[fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px;] Cale gave him a tiny smile,"Thank you sir,"he said softly,"gently returning the squeeze,"I do appreciate that sir, but I... people have promised they wouldn't get rid of me, and I'm here now. I hope you're telling the truth, though, I-it's kinda nice here, even if the others don't really like me." [/fancypost]
-
Miles made a frustrated growl as he shook his hands. "You really need to stop being so nice. I have the sudden urge to squeeze you until your eyeballs pop because you're so awesome." He ruffled Cale's hair with a dry hand. "So stay that way?"
