  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]He was... sad.

Blackjack had realized not long ago that it had been over a year since he had last stepped foot in Hawkclan. It was the only home he had ever known, and God bless if he'd ever choose another one over it. It was the place in which he was born... the place in which he was mentored by one of his favorite felines... the place in which he fell in love for the first and last time.

    It was a bittersweet homecoming.

He knew that nobody would be there to greet him in the beginning. He also knew that others would congregate themselves around him, asking who he was and what he wanted with Hawkclan. He needn't explain himself to them, as upon entering the territory, he said only one thing:

    'I'm home.'

And it was all that needed to be said. With a loud cry, the lion collapsed onto the soil and started rolling in it. He didn't know whether to be happy or not.

  • [justify]Not much was happening at the moment. It was something that scared the Chief, in a way. Perhaps it was better than being raided constantly, or having so many members that they were running out of supplies. Still, the silence almost seemed worse. HawkClan had been around for so long, but now it almost seemed as though it was dying out. Something that made Dustdevil question just how the leaders prior had allowed the group to get to such a low point. Only having knowledge on the group after there merge with the Tribe of Ancient Stones, Dustdevil's guess would have been just as close as any stranger who decided to offer their own. Still, the clan wasn't beyond saving just yet. After all, they had almost reached the quota last month.

Having been wondering around the territory, Dustdevil hadn't expected the cry. Jumping at the sound, wings moving wildly in a display of shock. "Dude!" A slightly angry voice could be heard, the vulture now moving in the direction of the returning lion. "You scared the shit out of me!" This time, the woman seemed to be... Laughing?

"What's yer name then, or did ya just wanna scare me and leave?" After a brief pause, Dustdevil would ask an inevitable question. Not particularly enjoying the fact that joining had became such a routine, though she vaguely understood why. Particularly from a leader's perspective. A leader needed to know the members of their clan, or simply put the outcome would be chaos.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]Blackjack was certainly expecting somebody to come and greet him, so it did not serve as much of a surprise as usual when Dustdevil made her presence known. He grinned and tilted his head back whilst rolling so he'd have a clear view of the avian (upside down, sure, but that didn't bother him much). A grin was quick to leave his mouth once she pronounced that he had, quoted, scared the * out of her.

"In my opinion, that latter would be fine." The beast chuckled and rolled over one last time before launching himself from the ground. "My name's Blackjack. I was here about a year and a half ago. If it's no trouble, I'd like to rejoin Hawkclan."

The post was edited 1 time, last by BLACKJACK — ().

  • [justify]"Jus' to be clear, your name's Blackjack right?" Returning a light hearted chuckle with the beast, Dustdevil would pick up on the fact that Blackjack had in fact mentioned his name twice. Hopefully, this would be due to something minor such as fatigue. "That'd be cool, but you'd have to try something to really freak me out. Ya know, ugly mask an' stuff!" Referring to the lion's first comment, Dustdevil would build off the idea. Sounding genuinely interested in the idea, if only to prank some of her clanmates.

"Welcome home then, buddy. The name's Dustdevil, if ya need anythin' come to me." Finally, the Chief would reveal her name. The feathered organism offering a relaxed shrug of her wings as she finished. Choosing not to tell Blackjack that she was, in fact, the clan's leader. After all, it wouldn't exactly be a well kept secret for long. Instead of flaunting her power to a stranger, it made more sense for the woman to let Blackjack find out for himself. One way or another.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:500px][justify][size=9pt]somewhat gruesome in the second paragraph

He mentally thwacked himself for saying his name twice. Yeah, it had been a long day for the male; he'd been attempting to reach Hawkclan for days now, but the territory was only vaguely familiar to him. It was only by his hard work that he had finally managed to sniff out the border, and by God he was so happy he had. Then again, who wouldn't be?

Blackjack gave a quiet chuckle at Dustdevil's remarks. "Sorry. I'm just a bit tired." That, perhaps, was an understatement. "And I was thinking something more along the lines of spikes sticking out of my back, maybe my jaw ripped in two. Guts spilling everywhere." He figured the last comment he made about it was a bit too much and he hoped he did not seem annoying to his now fellow-clanmate. "Nice to meet you - I'll have to keep that in mind."

    (wow i just saw that
