• [fancypost borderwidth=0px]Tessellessence didn't really seem like the crafting type. But the opposite was plain to see as the kitten was sat, talking angrily to himself as he attempted to weave together reeds into baskets. He guessed it was a good idea, right? Some for holding herbs, some for holding prey, and some, well, he didn't know where all the excess would go. He just hoped it wasn't to the kittens- they would probably ruin his work. Yikes.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0; width: 450px; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt;]Easternpaw had been in a foul mood when he met Tessellessence, and so was curious to see now how the kitten would react to his presence now that he was mainly calm. The bicolored apprentice sat down near the younger RiverClanner and watched him work with curiosity. "Where did you learn to do that?" the new apprentice inquired, tilting his head ever so slightly. Skills such as this were so bizarre and magical to him - he was not a very crafty individual. He was an intelligent child, but arts and crafts were lost to him.

"you seem like you're having trouble." the black smoke commented, padding closer. jager didn't offer any help, because he was hopeless at these kinds of things too, so why offer if he was just going to mess it up? She saw Tessellessence and paused, a little scared to say anything. He was mean, and if not, at least threatening. "What are t-those for?" She softly said.[/fancypost][/fancypost]

  • Warblerwing's basket was her mouth. She carried her prey in it, and she carried pretty much everything-- including her heavy words. She did not believe in using tools, whether it was made by humans or by simple clanners... perhaps you could call the tortie "old-fashioned".

A yawn ripped open her mouth, forcing oxygen down her tubes in order to fill her lungs. It took a moment before the Riverguard had approached them, but even then she stayed towards the back and watched in vague disinterest.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]
"Those are baskets. They're meant to hold a lot of objects in them so that we don't have the carry them around on ourselves," Skippy explained as she regarded the craftsmanship of Tesselessence with a bit of awe. She had never built anything from scratch, and to her, it was as if the baskets were a large engineering feat. "If you need more, I can probably help you out if you teach me," the torbie point offered as she sat down near the feline to observe his work.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]The three-year and some-month-old feline slowly but surely allowed himself to move towards the growing group. He did not see much of a point in making baskets - he knew certain people who were able to conjure items at will; why couldn't they just make them appear? Nonetheless, Steadfast was intrigued by the way these guys were making them. He sat himself some ways away with a grunt and allowed his golden eyes to wander.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px]"Self-taught. Read it in a book," Tessellessence shrugged, not even bothering to look up at Easternpaw as he spoke. Well, not that he could really. The kitten needed all the concentration he could muster in order to get this weaving done correctly. Jager's voice then rang in his ears and he nodded in agreement to the trouble he was having. He pushed the supplies and book towards Skippingstones and Tequilapup- just in case she wanted to help- and popped another reed into his mouth. And well, of course, he had to be salty at some point so he turned to Warblerwing and hissed "Are you just going to stare or what?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]
Flipping through the pages with her paw, Skippy's face creased with confusion as she tried to grasp the concept of basket weaving. "Hm, I think I need someone to help me out with making the base since I can't hold all the reeds down," she explained out loud, staring at the pictures and trying to form a mental image of how this was supposed to be done. Hearing Tessel's sharp hiss and words, the easily distracted trainee would look up to see that it was directed to Warbee. "Would you like to help me make a basket?" Skippy asked, gesturing for her emotionless sibling to come over. Personally, she didn't find anything wrong with how she was just observing them without bothering them, so she didn't know what bit Tesselessence in the tail to make him so annoyed.

  • Warblerwing did not match the tartness of Tessellessence, and instead she just stared with her bored, dead green eyes. The attitude of the former medicine cat was irritating, and this was the very first impression he had put on her; and after this, she was happy that she did not have to be healed by him.

For a moment, she kept gazing, taking a few seconds in order to decide whether or not she should give a snarky, blunt comment. But she was better than fighting with a kitten. "It must be painful to live your life with a bitter, salty attitude." Was all the flat-toned Riverguard commented, just before deciding that being here was not worth her time, and therefore she moved on and quietly padded off into the distance in order to do something more productive.

She did not obey Skippingstones' gesture. She did not fall underneath Tess's hostile hiss. Instead, life went on for Warblerwing.
