featherkit had her head bowed, gaze flickering over the pages of a book, absorbed in the endless words and descriptive writing. she had been taught to read at a very young age, and while she was still learning, she had a natural knack for reading. featherkit was, indeed, a clever young lady. reading came in handy, hence why she had began reading in the first place, but now it was more of a recreational sort of thing.

Teabones approached on nimble paws, weaving her way around nearby felines. She'd begun to familiarize herself with their faces, but still found herself greeted by a new onslaught of members with each passing day. Tea wasn't sure whether to to feel pleased or overwhelmed. "Hello." the young warrior greeted softly, seating herself a good foot or so away from Featherkit, as not to disturb the pale youth.

"Is that a good book you're reading?" She inquired. In truth, the dark female had never learned to read. She'd never the chance nor resources to do so, but approached the pursuit with a great deal of intrigue nevertheless; it did seem like a rather respectable skill.

"oh, hello," featherkit said almost dismissively to teabones. she then lifted her muzzle to look at the ebony and marigold-eyed fem. the book she was reading was indeed good. "yes, i really like it! the story's very well-written, but i don't understand all of the words. do you know how to read ..?" she began, but realized she didn't even know her name! "oh! my apologies! my name is featherkit, and you are?"

At first, the kitten appeared rather disinterested. Not that Tea could blame her. She'd found that youths seemed to be more interested in others their own age. "Oh, no, s-sorry." She fanned her ears, embarrassed at her own lack of proficiency. Teabones had considered inquiring further about the content of the story, but could not find it in her. A small part of the female was growing increasingly frustrated with her own social inability. Especially considering the fact that she was nearly five times her company's senior.

"N-not a problem. I'm Teabones, it's nice to meet you, Featherkit." Tea responded warmly, having managed to regain some composure. She glanced back down at the young feline, self-conscious. "If you don't mind me asking, h-how did you learn to read?"
