Are there any tips/guides on roleplaying PTSD properly?

  • I based Noodle off of the Noodle from Gorillaz and I'd like her to have some form of PTSD from the experiences there, but I have no idea how to roleplay PTSD effectively. Can anyone help?

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px][justify][size=8]i'd say, first and foremost, to be very careful. ptsd is obviously not a concept that should be used lightly or described unrealistically, it's an incredibly sensitive thing. that being said, they may often be agitated, irritable, self destructive, hostile, socially isolated, etc. they could suffer from flashbacks, severe anxiety, and have trust issues. they also may have trouble feeling happy or satisfied, and often feel guilty or lonely. they could have insomnia and experience frequent nightmares, and it's also common to be emotionally detached and to have problems with controlling their thoughts.

    as a person that has ptsd, I can say that this is very common in myself, and in other people I've seen with it.
