Her Guardian (private for me and scarlet)

Ale had ran after her but she still had a head start. Once Alec got close to her she was already scaling the wall. "Oh my God," he whispered under his breath afriad she was going to fall. She was almost to the top. That's it. Alec had to stop her. She was standing at the top of the wall when Alec called out to her. "Princess!"

Alec almost couldn't believe this. He had heard of the princess sneaking out many times before, but the other guards had almost always caught her. And he would just hear stories, like how she sometimes ran and how they had to chase her down, or how she would hide the crowds in town or somethings the forest, and it would take the guards hours to find her. She was a troublemaker, no doubt. And he never had really talked to her before. Of course he's seen her around in the castle. But he's never talked to her. This would be their official meeting, him chasing her down.

She turned to look at him. She stopped for a moment but then continued to scramble down the wall on the other side. Alec cursed under his breath and started climbing the wall. He climbed with such speed and agility that when he made it to the top, she had just reached the ground. If he hurried he might be able to catch her. He saw her take off towards the forest and he hurried down the wall before jumping. He then bolted in her direction. He was about halfway there when she had past the tree line. He cursed again and he had tried to run faster. Her couldn't lose her.

James ran full blast into the forest. Once he was a few feet in he stopped, nearby the princess. Where did she go? He scanned the forest but there was no sign of her. Where could she have gone? He began to think maybe he should've gathered a couple of other guards to help him find her. If he can't find her within the hour. He'll go back and that's what he'll do. One way to the other, he was going to find her. He had to. It wasn't safe for her out here by herself. He remembered the princess was smart and that she knows how to allude guards. So he would have to be smart also. James took one last look, before heading deeper into the forest.

After ten minutes James stopped wandering in the direction he was headed. How could this girl have alluded fifteen guards in the forest on foot before? How did they not find her right away? Where did she hide? James remembered that this girl was smart. And she outsmarted fifteen guards. James decided to put himself in her position. If he were hiding in the forest from the highly trained kingsguard, where would he go? James looked around, his eyes scanning the trees. But all he saw was tree trunks, no way she would've hid for so long behind one of those. James stopped realizing the problem. The guards only looked for her from what they could see at eye level. James looked up at the tree canopy. That's how she remained hidden for so long. The guards didn't even bother to look up to see what was right above their hands. And he almost fell for it too. Damn, she is smart.

James smiled a little and turned around. That was her plan all along. And he had been heading in the wrong direction. James started walking back from where he came. After a few minutes, he stopped and recalled what he could from the forest. This is where some of the kingsguard train sometimes. He remembered there was a clearing to the west, and to the east there was a canal which led to a lagoon. The lagoon, James thought. That's where she would go. James hurried in that direction not caring to keep his footsteps quiet.

He knew he was getting close to the lagoon when he heard a splash. He smiled at himself at little, knowing that she would be there. Alec burst through the bushes and looked for any sign of her. She wasn't in plain sight. "Come out princess," he called out to her, "I know you're here. You don't have to hide anymore." Alec looked around again. All he saw were bushes. He started walking towards them, "Princess? Please come out," he said in a gentler tone. It was pointless for her to hide anymore.

Alec heard something land by his feet, causing him to take a step back. When he looked up his eyes found the Princess. He heard her speak and then he was met with water splashing his face. He stood there confused for a second and that's when she fled. Alec wiped some of the water off his face with the back of his hand, before darting after the princess. He could no longer see her but she was heading west when he last saw her. She was heading to the meadow.

As he ran he thought of the water hitting his face earlier. Did he see that correctly or were his eyes playing tricks on him? Maybe the princess found a bucket nearby and splashed the water on him. Yeah that's what happened, Alec told himself. He ran faster until he came to the meadow. He looked around but she was no where in sight. "Princess Artemis!" Alec called out.

Alec called out again but there was no response. He heard rustling a few feet away. He snapped his head in that direction and started walking towards where the sound came from. "Princess, you don't have to hide anymore. Come on out," said Alec. He was getting closer to where she was hiding.

Alec breathed a sigh of relief when he saw her. He smirked a little, "It's about time. And we'll see about that. Come on, let's go home," he saying gesturing to her the direction of the castle. As they walked back Alec couldn't help but wonder why the Princess insisted on sneaking out all of the time. What was so imported in the woods? Alec pushed the thought out of his head, it was none of his business. All he had to worry about was protecting her and making sure she got back safely.

Alec looked at her as they walked side-by-side. "Were you testing me Princess? Having me chase you and seeing how long before I caught you is fun to you? I hope you don't think of this as a game you play with the guards. They want to protect you and keep you safe but you just run away because you're bored? And if I told my commander that you think he and I chasing you is entertaining then he won't come find you himself, he'll just keep sending other guards," Alec sighed, not thinking she'll reply.

They walked for a few minutes until they reached the wall. They were at the bottom when Alec heard rustling from behind them and then the Princess told him to climb up. He turned around to see that they were about to be accompanied by wolves. Terrific. As if this night couldn't get any better. Alec whipped around and started climbing, glad that the princess was further up the wall than he was. He didn't have to turn his head to know that the wolves were getting closer. Just then Alec thought he saw white fly over his head. The Wolves' snarls were snuddenly muffled. He glanced back and saw that some were practically buried in snow. What? Alec glanced up at the princess. She was already at the top. It had snowed earlier, so maybe there was snow at the top of the wall that she threw down at them. It made sense. Alec kept climbing until he joined the Princess at the top.
