riku is generally a kind-hearted young tom, taking the emotions and states of others into
account while he talks to them. he cares deeply for those around him, particularly his clan-
mates, and will do his best in any situation to support them and make sure they feel loved.
he puts others before him and his choices revolve around what will benefit others. the tabby
loves to share and socialize when he gathers the courage to, and means well! this ties in with
his considerate side; he thinks about how others feel before acting, as mentioned above. aside
from that, riku is very devoted and will never betray his clan-mates or family so long as he has
the choice to avoid it. he will serve him clan until he dies, gladly, and has a strong desire to
prove himself.
riku is awkward; socially awkward in particular. while he likes to socialize and make friends, at
first, he's a stuttering mess, tripping over his own words and blushing quite a bit. he doesn't
know how to hold a regular conversation with strangers, and so it can take some time for him
to adjust and become more socially skilled around you, but him awkwardness is endearing to
an extent. he makes up for this with his joking personality; little corny quips here and there
once he's comfortable with you. he loves jokes and collects joke books, finding new ones to tell
his buddies when he next sees them! riku's also fairly anxious.
of course, no character is without their flaws! riku has a bad habit of jumping to conclusions.
due to being anxious most of the time, he still jumps to conclusions, assuming things that may
be untrue; actually, they're untrue the majority of the time. he worries over small things and
is very forgetful. another flaw is that he's very, very easily moved to tears; riku is an emotional
train with no brakes. crying, laughing, fuming, cowering. he jumps from emotion to emotion
uncontrollably, though he's happy most of the time - luckily - but that can turn to tears at
the moment a sad scene pops up in a movie. riku tends to be attached and dependent on others
for help, likely due to being a kitten and a former kitty-pet, and it's assumed that he'll grow out
of this trait with time.

riku is a small tom, below average height for someone his age, with a very slim, agility-based
body. he was born to run, his legs being the most muscular part of his body, allowing him to
run, swim, and jump better than several others. of course, he doesn't have much natural strength;
speed and agility is more riku's thing. his fur is soft, like a young bird's downy, to the touch, while
also being silky and lush, like the common riverclanner's. surprisingly, it tangles very easily, and
requires frequent brushing or grooming from riku. he cares a lot for his coat and it's not often seen
in a bad state. it would tangle more, but his fur is average length, which means a few less tangles
for the young tom. pattern-wise, riku is a pale brown tabby with white legs, a white chest, white
facial markings, and so on. his eyes are a rich, golden-green color, much like his mothers, though he
doesn't quite remember her.

history
riku was born in a kitty-pet family to his mother and father, and lived happy for the first month
of his life, but soon caught the eye of a young girl who chose to adopt him. he was taken to
live with the young girl's family, ripped away from his mother, father, and siblings, but he didn't
think it would be too bad. the girl was smothering and didn't give riku any room to breath,
forcing him to wear "kitty clothing" and keeping him locked up in her room for most of the time.
the young tom soon became upset with the way she was forcing him to live, and so when she
accidentally left her window open, he escaped through it and out into the world. for about a week,
he lived in the outskirts as a rogue, before hearing rumors of the clans. intrigued by these odd
rumors, he ventured off into the wilderness, discovering riverclan in the process. he was welcomed
in and finally found a home that he felt safe and free in, much to the young tom's relief.
