The pink of sunrise was beginning to drain away, replaced by the pearly blue that embodied a beautiful summer's day. But he knew that his current.. situation would keep him on the road for a while, and that this would be his last real rest stop. He was sticking up on... well, whatever he could find.

The young tom snagged a handful of newly green sprouts from the ground, peering at them curiously. He was no herb expert, but he knew enough. Thyme. He slipped the plants into a little pouch with a tight smile before continuing along, whistling to himself.

[fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid #000000; width: 440px;][justify][size=7pt]What was she doing? Kate found herself wandering all the way out to where Dean was to see him off, and she couldint seem to figure out why. Was it her strong impulse to be polite to others? Well... it may have been a part of the reason, but the biggest reason was the fact she was attracted to this mysterious stranger. As much as Kate hated to admit it, she found him very handsome and wanted to see him one last time. He doesn't know your here. Take this opportunity to leave before he notices you standing here like an idiot. But this didn't happen. She watched carefully as Dean picked some Thyme for his bag of possessions. [b]"Hey." She spoke up then, regretting it as soon as she opened her mouth. "If you'd like some herbs for your traveling, I have a garden you can take some from. And I have some really delicious raspberries and strawberries you can take as a snack."

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=transparent; width: 325px;][justify][size=9pt]That voice - at this point Dean was finally getting used to looking down. He turned to face Kate, his eyebrows raised just slightly as their gazes met. She was nice - it was a relieving change. And he could tell that she was interested, if just a little; he wasn't trying to brag or anything, but he'd seen the signs dozens of times before. He offered her a subtle smile, just the quirk of one corner of his lips, taking a step towards her. Immediately his ears perked at the word 'snacks.' The herbs he might've been able to say no to, but good berries were damn hard to find on the road. Besides, raspberries tasted great in this one margarita that he particularly enjoyed. He wasn't really a fruity drink guy, but-

no, his mind was trailing. The tom cleared his throat, glancing away before turning back. "Sounds like an offer I couldn't pass up," he responded, falling into place beside her. "..Kate, right? Yeah?"

[fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid #000000; width: 440px;][justify][size=7pt]Kate was delighted he accepted his offer, though she did her best to remain cool and collected on the outside. It was a hard task for such a small rabbit to do on her own. [b]"Yeah, I'm Kate. And I remember you're Dean. It's quite the interesting sounding name, it'd be hard to forget it." She smiled, trying to stride with an air of confidence in front of him as she lead the way to the garden. "I remember seeing all that stuff you're carrying with you. Looks like you're a busy guy." She turned her head to look back at him, eyes gleaming with curiosity. "What do you do while you travel?"

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=transparent; width: 325px;][justify][size=9pt]Dean tipped back his chin. "Hard to forget, eh?" He gave a half grin, glancing down at his leather bag as it was mentioned. "Guess you could say that. Most of it's, y'know, extra precautions." He looked ahead, following carefully alongside Kate. He didn't want to.. step on her, or something. A frown tugged at his lips at her words, but nothing too noticeable. He sighed and gave a quick shrug. "Oh, I travel a lot. Me and my brother, I mean. As fun as it sounds, road tripping can be pre-tty dangerous around these parts." He paused. "So why're you growing a garden, huh? 'S it a hobby, or are you the medic around here?"

[fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid #000000; width: 440px;][justify][size=7pt]Kate was quick on her feet and was very careful herself. She knew what she was doing and would make sure Dean didn't hurt her accidentally. Road tripping with his brother? Oh how her heart yearned for such an exciting life. She wished more then anything her sisters were still alive so she could do something along those lines; travel the world and learn new things. Of course, Kate had no idea Dean's true intent in his traveling, and if she did she'd probably be singing a different tune on the matter. [b]"That sounds like quite the life you have there." She commented, her eyes full of warmth and appreciation. "I wish I could hear all about your adventures. I already know you've seen a lot more thing than i've ever been able to." She continued along, quiet for a moment or two before her ears perked at his question. "Oh! Well, I started the garden on my own to make sure I had enough to eat in the clan. It's hard finding food when you eat fruit and vegetables and pretty much everyone else eats meat. But now I also use it for growing herbs because I was recently promoted to a medic intern." The rabbit stated rather proudly.

  • :([align=center][fancypost bgcolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=transparent; width: 325px;][justify][size=9pt]Dean sucked in a breath, giving a small chuckle at the girl's words. Seen more than she ever would? "Yeah, maybe," he muttered, mostly to himself. If only our of habit, he would glance to the side, surveying the surrounding brush and undergrowth. Of course, there was nothing worth noting. He swished his tail against his hind legs, adjusting the bag slung over his shoulder. When she began to answer his own question he perked his ears in interest, glad to have turned to a different subject. Keeping quiet about the whole demon hunting thing was actually pretty difficult. "Oh - right. Rabbit. Vegetarian. ..Hey, congrats on the promotion, then." If he recalled correctly, Sam had wanted to be a medic at one point. The thought made him furrow his brows, and he looked up. "How much further to the garden, then, huh? Is it far from camp?"

[fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid #000000; width: 440px;][justify][size=7pt][b]"Don't worry, we're almost there." Kate assured, and sure enough they'd have arrived at the small little garden the rabbit tended to all on her own. It wasn't anything impressive, there wasn't much one person could do with limited supplies, but there was plenty enough. There was a section for what appeared to be fruits and vegetables, and another for medicinal herbs that were divided by a tiny patch of grass. "Feel free to take as much as you'd like, whatever you'd like." She welcomed before sitting herself down in an almost proper lady like manner, keeping her distance as she watched a few butterflies nearby. After a while, in what time was assumably when he began to pick what he needed, she finally spoke up. "You know, I'm really going to miss having you around. It's... very refreshing to meet someone like you." The rabbit wasn't sure how often this man might have heard this being told to him. "Any man or woman would be lucky to travel along side you and explore the world." She shuffled her paws, and looked down for a moment or two before speaking up again. "Would you be able to come and visit some times?" She felt stupid letting these words escape from her mind and be spoken out loud. She felt like she was starting to sound ridiculous to him now.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=transparent; width: 325px;][justify][size=9pt]The garden. Dean's gaze travelled from the plethora of plants then back to Kate, and he offered her a quick nod of gratitude. Since he'd gotten permission, the tom stepped inside, inspecting each modest row of herbs. He wouldn't take too much - some basil, a pinch of comfrey leaf, and a little rosemary. Of course, he would also snag a pawful of raspberries - one of which he pooped into his mouth with a half smile.

"Thanks," Dean rumbled, turning back towards Kate where she sat. Her words actually caught him off-guard, maybe as she'd expected. Refreshing? Lucky? He gave a low chuckle, turning away and scratching at the back of his neck. Was he, the great Dean Winchester, flustered? Nah - no, he didn't get flustered. "I, uh.. th-thanks, I guess. Don't hear that a lot." He paused, mulling over the rabbit's question. "I.. yeah. I think I'll be able to visit, actually. Maybe next time my brother'll tag along." He offered another smile.

[fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid #000000; width: 440px;][justify][size=7pt]Kate was genuinely surprised. With how interesting the man was, how did he have so little people wanting to get to know him better? He was a complete package; handsome, tough, he had that whole bad-boy vibe to him and he had this huge mystery revolving around him that drew you in asking questions. Maybe he travels too much to get to know people well. She thought to herself, frowning at the thought for a moment. [b]"That's great--! I mean. I am sure Windclan would be glad to open our doors for you any time." Smooth, Kate. Real smooth. "Maybe I could meet you half way some places. Bring you some herbs and snacks from my garden and check up on you. I'm sure with all of that..." She eyed the curious pouch he carried around with him that she'd caught a glimpse of some of the contents of. "... Adventuring you do you'll need someone to make sure you're cleaning up your cuts and bruises. And maybe just a good friend in general." Don't be ridiculous, Kate. I'm sure his brother looks after him well enough. She scolded herself, but by now it seemed like she was grasping for straws. She wanted to keep in touch with Dean very much so and get to know him better. Kate, as much as she didn't want to admit it, was like an open book with her emotions at times. It was very clear that Kate was developing a tiny crush on the demon hunter. But it was also clear she was intrigued -- that she wanted to know what kept this man tied down. It must have been something exciting!
