The sleek, jet black tom was hunting, without much luck. After chasing a bird for about 30 minutes only to have it fly away, Kei would resort to fishing in the river. He didn't much like water or the slimy taste of fish, but he was hungry and bored. Standing on the edge of the river, Kei would stand as still as possible, watching the water intently as the small fish raced by, carried along by the river's current. As a particularly large one made its way by, Kei made his move, lunging into the water with lightning speed. But just before catching the shimmering fish, the creature twisted away from his jaws, giving him nothing when his head resurfaced. Glaring at the prey, Kei would jump into the river, determined to catch the thing. Missing again, the male would stand in the water looking defeated, the current whooshing past his paws, the water up to his chest. Suddenly, a rock from below one of the feline's paws slipped, sending the male whooshing along in the river, scrambling to get out of the current. In one motion, Kei's head was plunged underwater and hit a large rock that had been jutting out of the river. Body limp, the tom's lifeless form continued on its high speed path carried along by the current untill finally it hit a band of shoreline where it would stay, lifeless.
