This is set during the first year of the majority of the Campers, whenever it may be. Let's just say, in theory, that their first year was spent together. The three Captains of Olympian Hill have gathered whatever demigods they could, and are bringing the freshmen to what will soon be their new camp. The Satires and Nymphs and Druids are still working on the buildings, so the Campers must stay in separate tents over the course of two weeks, trying to live off the land and making occasional trips to the town— which is too far away to be part of the daily routine. It's the best time to establish friendships and connections, with most of the Campers only knowing the Captains who've gathered them in the first place and not much else.

LOCATION A small clearing in the middle of the forest, just beyond the hanging bridge. Multiple tents have been set up, and there are several bonfires to keep them warm throughout the night. There are hardly any buildings yet, but the Campers can go to the beach if they need to swim, or to the town if they're willing to walk several miles. They can't stay away from Camp for too long, because now that they're aware of their lineage, they attract monsters much easier.

ATMOSPHERE It's bleak and desolate. Many of the Campers have only begun to experience what life is like being a demigod. Some of them have lost family members, friends, when the monsters attacked them out of the blue— most of them had to leave everything behind to keep their loved ones safe from harm. Some are still suspicious and speculative, trying to digest the truth and having a much harder time accepting fantasy as their reality. There are those who have accepted the truth quite easily. There are those who still believe the entire thing to be a dream. There are those who are eager to help, and those who start seething at the sight of the Captains. There are those who are still grieving over their old lives, or the loss of a loved one.[/fancypost][/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; border: 0px; width: 450px; color: gainsboro; text-align: justify; line-height:100%;]"Seriously, Jo? You're not gonna talk to me?"

Jo's eyes were downcast, staring intently at the earth beneath her boots as she kept on walking uphill, her hands occasionally reaching out to steady herself whenever she stepped on a particularly slippery patch of earth. Whereas her movements were quick and precise, Ava was making quite a loud ruckus behind her, stomping and flailing and seething when her step-sister refused to even look at her.

"Look, I know that this is overwhelming for you, and it's also a crazy coincidence, but you can't just ignore me forever!" Ava reached out, wrapping her fingers around Jo's arm and pulling her back. Both sisters faced each other, sharing a feral look. Despite only being related through the legality of their parents' marriage, they looked so eerily alike that they could've fooled anyone into thinking they were bound by blood. "Listen. I know you're grieving, and I'm sorry for what happened to Lily—" Jo's green eyes flashed dangerously. "—But this is who you are! This is who we are."

"You should have told me sooner" murmured Jo, voice quiet but speaking magnitudes. She had always been soft-spoken, but Ava couldn't help but flinch at the ice wedged between each of the demigod's words. Jo spun on her heel, back facing her sister, fingers curled into tight fists that caused her knuckles to turn white. "I could have saved her, Ava. If you had told me sooner, I could have gone away and she wouldn't have died."

"Jo, I thought I was doing what's best for you—"

"You don't get to make that choice for me, Ava," she snapped hotly. For several seconds, there was nothing but silence swelling between them, rising to such a deafening crescendo that it was almost palpable under the blistering afternoon sun. The first to break was Jo, lifting one hand and running slender fingers along her brown locks, gathering a deep breath into the chasms of her lungs and holding it there for several short seconds. "Just— I don't want to talk about it, Ava. Bring me to camp. Be the captain. I don't care, but don't talk about her."

That seemed to have ended the conversation between them, with Ava taking the lead once more and Jo trailing behind her, hands buried into the straps of her knapsack. For the rest of the passing hours, the air was filled with only their steady footfalls. Ava knew the path by heart, having escorted several different Campers to it over the course of the past few days, and risked glancing over her shoulder at her younger step-sister every so often. Jo's expression didn't change. It was blank, expressionless, as if she didn't know how to feel.

When they finally reached the hanging bridge that led to their makeshift camp, Ava turned around and parted her lips, ready to advise Jo on what to do— except Jo was already walking across without so much as a peep, wooden planks groaning dangerously beneath each footfall. It was only when she disappeared into the thick fog that Ava followed her, knowing that her sister would've already reached the other side. When she broke through the barrier, the demigod was met with a scattering of tents all around the campsite, a bonfire burning in the very middle.

Ava split up from her sister in search for the other Captains, and Jo watched her departure before letting out a silent sigh. Her sister helped bring the demigods together, of course she would know her way around. Jo, on the other hand, knew absolutely no one, and doubted that she'd get to socializing any time soon. Trying not to let her irritation get the best of her, she padded towards the mostly-abandoned bonfire and sat on one of the upturned logs, propping her bag by her feet before lacing her fingers together and staring into the flame.

When she heard a particularly loud crackle from the pit, she picked up a stick and all but threw it into the flames, a low growl rumbling in her chest. It wasn't fair. Lily wasn't supposed to die. Jo wasn't supposed to be a demigod. Ava was supposed to stay the hell away from her. It didn't make sense and it wasn't fair.[/fancypost]

They didn't even have a proper place to sleep other than tents and a few camp fires too keep them warm, he should have stayed home, or at least somewhere other than here.

One of the girls, the one that had brought him to camp had told him that this would be a same place for him, it didn't look very safe, there was no lightning, no bathrooms, no fridges and no beds. Just tents, a fire and whatever the three 'captains' could find for food.

    Jackson couldn't believe it.

So now he sat at the campsite, the orange flames lighting his face with there warning flickers. The heat of the fire kept his feet warm-that Jackson was appreciative for; There was nothing worse than cold feet.

He couldn't say that he wasn't grateful for the assistance, the girl with the mountains of blonde hair, arizona he thought her name was, had told him that he was safe here and that was better than being attacked by two dog-headed fish. He had been sitting in his support class, or what the other students liked to call it 'class for the losers.' Jackson was a loser because he couldn't read, or because he couldn't sit still in class, and then to make matters worse he had made himself look even more worse by saying he was being attacked by dog-headed fish. Everyone had thought he was mad and then laughed at him. Basically the usual.

He thoughts were cut off when he noticed a figure approaching. A girl. She had long haired and was kind of pretty, if Jackson were interested, but he was caught up in thoughts of monsters and what this all meant. He watched for a moment, having noticed that she hadn't noticed him.

He was sitting on the ground, knees pulled close to his chest but still loosely crossed, his arms wrapped around them. He watched her a little longer as she picked up a stick and then decided to speak up. [b]"Rough day?" she could tell in her expression that she had probably had something similar happen to her as to him, he'd been told that most of the others would have had almost as rough as time as him.

The fifteen year gave a small, encouraging smile however he didn't even believe it himself.

He wanted to gulp, but the sting of his anxiety made it impossible. His reluctance to come here was smothered by his mother's eagerness for him to be with people who understood him. For years he was the outcast, and Emily Lawrence had her hopes set on high that he'd finally have a place to fit in. If this was fitting in, Micah did not like it. His nerves were shot and all the others had different moods buzzing around.

No one had even heard what the guy's voice sounded like. Ever since the hike to this new campsite, Micah hadn't been able to utter a word to anyone. It makes it rather hard to make friends from his mother's wishes when he was currently mute. Micah tossed in his sleeping bag. Last night he had had absolutely no sleep, and now he was trying to catch up. His adrenaline was pumping and his stomach wanted to make him sick, so not even his tiredness would help him rest.

Then teen sighed, giving up and opening the flap of the tent to reveal the desolate camp that surrounded him. His mother was playing a cruel joke allowing him to come here. Micah was desperately trying to see the upside, but anything that spiked his mutism was hard to look at positively. He usually escaped situations where he couldn't speak as quickly as possible. The young teen stepped outside into the fresh air, a shiver running down his spine and causing his skin to pale. The night times were chilly and Micah did not do well in the cold.

He paced for a minute, spotting a crackling fire and hurriedly making his way towards it to warm up. He could live by the fire for as long as he had to. His body weakened when the sun went away, and Micah never knew why. Two figures were already there, having the same idea as him. One didn't look to be in a chatty mood, and given Micah's current state, that was fine by him. The other was trying to strike up a conversation, but he was looking as Micah was feeling.

Nodding slightly, and rather awkwardly, the male placed himself directly in front of the flame. His face flushed and thanked him for the sudden heat, and Micah smiled.

    Why was he here?

Alias had been asking himself that question every day since he had arrived. That was three days ago. He had long since figured out the answer: he had nowhere else to go. Yes, there was a nice house and an even nicer inheritance waiting for him in Manhattan, but that wasn't his home anymore. He couldn't go back. Every time he stepped through the front down he'd replay the events of that night over again, retracing his steps, haunted by the flashes of blood that should not have been spilled. But he couldn't sell the house either. Perhaps because it used to be his home, or perhaps because he couldn't quite let go of his past; and that was a problem. But I sure as hell can act like it never happened, he reminded himself.

    Nobody would know.

So, here he was, charming smiles and charismatic words never faltering under the tension that twisted and molded thickly around every body. He had made himself busy over the past few days, needing something to distract himself from the grief that would like a lesion in the pit of his stomach. A voice pulled his cerulean oculars from the dusty ground at the base of his tent, and he noticed two- no there was a third approaching them now- demigods that he didn't recognize. They would have to be a good enough distraction, so Alias pushed himself off of the ground and wiped his now dirt-pressed hands against each other, approaching them silently.

"I'm Alias," he dove right into introductions, seeing that nobody was speaking at the moment. He lips curved into a nice smile at the edges as he crossed his arms over one another, glancing at the fire they were all so captivated by. "We haven't met before. I've been here a few days already."

    ( DAUGHTER OF HERMES )

[align=center][fancypost bgcolor=white; width: 384px; font-size: 8px; font-family: verdana; text-align: justify; overflow: auto; line-height: 15pt; color: black;]The current living arrangements did not bother Stevie like it seemed to bother the other new campers. She had grown accustomed to living in much harsher conditions, and considered having her own tent to be quite the luxury. But having no privacy was one thing that she was not used to, and with every day that passed she found it no less difficult. The threat of socialization proved to be constant, even when she sat in her tent with the flap closed. Older campers would come by and make sure she was adjusting well, while new members would come by to strike up a random conversation with her. She could hardly stand it, but she knew she had no other choice. Leaving was not an option with her life more on the line than ever before. It was the attack from the monster that made her finally give in and come. Before that, she refused to acknowledge her true destiny. She just wanted to be normal.

But Stevie had nothing to lose by coming here. There was nothing that she was leaving behind. She had already lost everything and everyone that she truly cared about. Reminders of her hardships constantly bothered her like the people around her, but after several hours of solitude in her tent she suddenly became desperate to escape the memories. Peering out from her tent, she skimmed over her surroundings with a calculating gaze. She needed to be smart about her next move. If she chose the wrong people to interact with, she might be stuck with their company for hours, or perhaps months. People tend to be clingy and creatures of habit when new to situations. But Stevie wouldn't allow that. She would distance herself before any serious relationships were due to form, like usual.

Stevie broke out into a causal stroll, heading towards the fire pit where a few people lingered. Four people to be exact, all new campers that she had not yet interacted with. Well, there haven't been too many people she has interacted with yet. She only had herself to blame for that, and she knew it. When people tried to talk to her, she responded as minimally as possible. Stevie wasn't much of a conversationalist, especially when it came to new surroundings such as this. She didn't trust new people, or new surroundings. When she got closer to the small group, she couldn't help but notice one girl in particular. Her eyes lingered on the girl's features, taking in the beauty with a discreet nature. If she was going to make some friends, she would make friends with that girl. It was already decided.

A boy was already talking when Stevie finally arrived, so she silently took a seat across from Jo, her eyes glancing towards her direction. She couldn't stop glancing at the girl, finding her appearance hypnotizing. But the last thing she wanted was to get caught starring so she withdrew her gaze and looked elsewhere, her pupils settling on Alias. He was still talking, telling them that he had been here for a few days now. She couldn't think of anything to say in response, so she glanced away, looking at the array of tents in the clearing. Her tent was one out of several, somewhere in the middle. The first few days she worried that her things would be stolen, but she soon realized that no one cared enough to do such a thing. This was a camp, after all, not the brutal streets that she was used to.

She didn't expect to be approached, but she decided not to be rude about it. If she was going to spend the majority of her time with these strangers, then she needed to at least be reasonable and polite. Even if she wasn't in the best mood. Even if she was just a second away from throttling her older sister for keeping secrets. Taking a deep breath, the teenager turned to face Jackson, struggling to keep herself composed.

"You could say that," was her minute response, vague and unfathomable but spoken in such a way that implied a flurry of answers she only barely withheld. Her gaze drifted back towards the tongues of flames lapping greedily against the darkening skies, sun lost behind the towering woodlands as it prepared its descent towards the abyss of the night. Pretty soon, they would all have to turn in for the day, and Jo realized that she would have to find someone to share a tent with, or else she'd get stuck sleeping with Ava— and she did not want to be in such close quarters with someone she'd rather avoid for the entirety of the summer.

"It's starting to feel like I'm in way over my head," she added, almost as an after-thought, allowing her attention to flicker towards the other arrivals— two other males, one who didn't talk, and one who introduced himself as Alias. She raised one hand and motioned to the other upturned logs, indicating that he should sit. She was about to make her own introduction when another figure joined them, a girl with wild locks, almost lion-like in nature.

The pull was almost automatic, causing Jo's words to die on her tongue as she quietly watched her take a seat across the bonfire. Jo felt the heat of the sudden presence blooming across the landscape of her cheeks. She hoped no one would notice, shifting a little closer to the fire so that the orange illumination would wash away the color. "Jo. Ava's sister," she introduced to the others gathered, gaze every so often returning to the other girl in their gathering, always fleeting and jumping away whenever she looked for far too long. "Do any of you know— who your parent is?" It was an odd way to structure the question, but how else could she ask?[/fancypost][/fancypost]

[color=#000]the smell of soil surrounded the captain as she walked into their makeshift camp, glancing at the progress of the buildings. Of course, they weren't going to be done for a while. Perhaps a couple of months. But for now, Arizona was content with the large tents set up in a messy circle, with bonfires littered on the land. Being one of the first campers here, Riz was already set up in the captains tent, long flowing locks of gold pulled back into a messy fishtail braid. Apollo's daughter had no clue what she was getting into when she first stepped into Olympian Hill. The day was cool when it all happened. A slight breeze sifted through the atmosphere as she walked into the Museum of Mythology. It was a school trip she was going on with a few other classes. Of course, Riz was always fascinated on the topic so she went. But it was there when she was met with her greatest fear.

Being the curious being she was, Arizona decided to stray from the group of others towards the mythical beings exhibit. She was the only one in there surprisingly. Walking down the long hall, the blonde watched the statutes and observed their poses. They all looked ready to pounce at any moment. Making it to the end of the hall, she noticed a small plaque labeled 'Elecus Mixelinus'. Looking up, she was surprised to see the large glass case was empty. Reading the small description on the plaque, Arizona turned around and was greeted by a five-eyes beast, with its eyes set on her.

Lost story short, the museum was closed down and Arizonas mother immediately packed her bags and sent here here. It was more of a brutal push away from her 'normal' family than an affectionate nudge towards her destiny. Either way, Riz was emitted into the camp and began training immediately. She was rewarded in many battles for her unique fighting skills and abilities. That was the reason she became Olympian's youngest captain. Besides the fact she had the power of Photokinesis; a gift only gods and goddesses received, not Demi-gods.

Glancing up at the newcomers, her brown eyes spotted a young woman walking with Ava. Her features lit up at the familiar face and immediately, Riz shot up and ran over, wrapping her arms around the older woman's body. [b]Ava! I'm glad to see you've brought a new recruit, but she doesn't look too thrilled to be here. Arizona caught a glance at the female once again before returning to the fellow Captain.

Her nose crinkled when she noticed the saddened expressions on everyone's faces. Some seemed to tough it out, but all looked unstable from uncertainty. For other teens her age, that would have been a psych out. No one knew she was present yet, the girl could easily go back the way she had come. Alexa didn't frighten easily, however, and it seemed these people needed her just as much as she needed a place to fit in. Her current foster home was nice, but she was still a thorn that stuck out too obviously. It hadn't come as a shock to her when someone showed up and told her of her genetics. The term demigod had been unheard of to her ears, but the things that backed it up were clear. Alexa liked knowing her mother had no choice in the matter of her care. It made her the hero Lexi always imagined she was.

Taking a deep breath in, Lexi readied herself for introductions. She gently bent her knees and sprung off of the tree she was previously bear hugging. Alexa had practically refused an escort to this place, as she wanted to venture by herself to gain some perspective. Her round eyes took in her surroundings from ground level, and the new teen couldn't hold in a giggle.

Bursting forward, wearing nothing but a floral dress, the girl ran across the empty field. Her cheeks flushed with energy, and her hair flapped with the wind behind her. Alexa was very out of place when she laughed, and the many other spirits here were dampened with the weather and the current situation. It seemed often enough that Lexi was oblivious to problems, but in reality, she just looked at things differently than most. That was an odd trait for a young girl, especially when she had had it since before she could remember.

She stopped short of the fire pit, head tilting slightly as she noticed the older teens gathering around it to keep warm and strike up conversations. Lexi padded onward in her bare feet, blinking welcomingly at the others. "Good day," she said very professionally, freckles and dimples turning upwards as she smiled. Alexa noticed the quiet one's shoulders perk up as she entered the scene, something that many did when she smiled and made a polite greeting.

He could probably hunt mice...

The boy shook out his thoughts, starting to walk towards kind of an uninhabited spot near a building that was just started, and crossed his arms over his chest as he sat in the soil. For some reason, Rob thought it was odd that there weren't any pegasi or mythological creature in some sort of makeshift paddock right now, but figured now wasn't the time. Her fathers, under the impression she was going to art camp, packed her from tip to toe with anything and everything that she could need for camp. Heck, the little 14 year old had trouble talking them out of insisting she bring her own tent and even an air mattress. She loved them to death, but they could be a bit much sometimes. They had underestimated the travel time as well, and arrived several hours earlier than they had planned. The sleepy little daughter of Nyx never was a morning person, and had trouble falling asleep because of how excited she was to finally experience what she had been reading about since she was saved from the horrible beast by the tall shadowed stranger-hero. Unable to function in the strengthening morning light, she napped the entire day away in her sun-warmed tent, emerging like an inky pale butterfly from its cocoon. She was clothed in a large hand-knit black sweater and light, grass-stained jeans and her favorite sneakers. Icy blue eyes adjusted immediately to the darkening atmosphere, takin in the faint firelight and the silhouettes of several figures gathered around it. Blair glided out of her tent, her elongated shadow appearing to slide fluidly behind her in an unnatural sort of way.

The small dark-haired girl approached the group, settling down on a log on the dimmer, darker side of the ring. She had arrived just as the question about their godly lineage was brought up, and volunteered her silvery voice. "I'm a daughter of Nyx, she's the goddess of the night." she spoke, smiling cryptically to punctuate her statement. She could feel the night darkening, energy returning to her that was sapped from her while she slept.

You forgot this. His sister Val had handed him his flute, Julian had given her a small peck on the cheek, and that was the end of that.

My son, I am sorry for whatever you're going through -- I really, truly am.

Apologies upon apologies, but all of them amounted to nothing.

Jule, you have to understand! I know she's wonderful, and I'm not just saying that, alright, but she's turning thirty next month!

And birds could fly. Why should anyone argue any differently?

Oh for goodness sakes, you're only sixteen!

Oh, that had completely slipped his mind. Did Val think he never realized that before? None of this had to be considered pedophilia - Belle never liked him in that way. It was purely platonic, innocent, and, and..nonexistent. All of this was just..just a petty little obsession, and nothing but a stupid fantasy that he had been having for the past couple of years.

You have to forget her, Jule. You weren't -- I mean -- Belle wasn't good enough for you, okay? Look, the fact that she's choosing to get married and reject you, Julian, of all people, shows that -- well.. His sister had tapered off, stared into space for a few moments, then quickly retreated to the kitchen to brainstorm her next few words.

Trust me when I say that you didn't deserve her.

Fine, maybe he didn't. Arabella wasn't the only thing he wanted to worry about, however. What about this god-forsaken father of his? Well, maybe "god-forsaken" wasn't the correct term to use, but that hardly mattered.

Come to Olympian Hill. It'll be like a therapy of sorts for you both.

This..Morpheus, as he so called himself, wasn't to be forgiven for a thing, but Julian, being the wishy-washy character he was, decided to let all of his wrongdoings slide. His sister, on the other hand, duly declared that she would not accompany him to this piece of * place and instead stay at home.

    But please visit, okay?
    Okay.

Jule glanced at his duffel, which had caught on a sharp rock and torn on the way here, and itched his temple absently. At the moment, he was neither elated nor dejected, but he rather enjoyed the area's ambience. The large crackle of the fire was soothing, and the tents were a nice way to..bond, in a sense.

    Not that he wanted to.

He glanced up at the girl who just spoke and wondered if he should answer. "Julian, son of Morpheus," After a second or so, he added: "God of dreams."

    'Is this a joke?'
This was the first thought that surged into Petra's mind as she gazed at what was supposed to be her safe haven. The captain who had brought her to Olympian Hill - Arizona - had tried to convince her that everything would be okay. That this place would eventually be restored to its original glory. Petra had a lot of trouble believing her.

"No one told me that this place was going to be in.. Pieces." She mumbled to herself. Petra couldn't believe her eyes - the camp was literally only a couple of tents that were spread out around a campfire. 'I bet mom knew it would be like this and that's why she sent me here.' Petra clenched her fists. Her anger at her mother had not simmered down, not in the least. 'Why didn't she just tell me? I wouldn't have been as mad if she did.' The young demigod sighed and walked over to the campfire. 'Might as well try to get warm.' Her attempt came to no avail, as she was still freezing even after a couple of minutes.

As the minutes passed, thoughts upon thoughts flooded Petra's head. The only thing that broke her out of the trance was a boy. She watched as he hurriedly made his way over to the fire. His smile brightened the currently bleak mood - or at least for her it did. Petra blinked twice before looking away, preferring not to be caught staring.

Petra glanced up at Jo, acknowledging her question. She pondered whether or not to answer for a moment before actually saying something. Her voice broke the silence that came after Julian spoke. "Daughter of Erebus, god of darkness."

A wide smile danced across her features as she recognized Arizona in the distance. Almost immediately, she raised her arms and pulled her fellow Captain into a hug. When she pulled back, one hand was raised to scratch at the back of her neck awkwardly, gaze trailing off towards Jo. She couldn't help but let out a soft sigh of relief as she noticed her sister already beginning to interact with the other demigods, even if they were fighting.

"Yeah, it's been a rough couple of weeks," she responded with a shrug of her shoulders, looking away from her sister when she was caught staring. The twenty-year-old ran her fingers through blonde locks, letting out another short breath before sitting down on one of the benches strewn about the makeshift camp with her palms threaded together. She didn't really want to acknowledge what happened, but she wanted Arizona to know. Living life as a demigod wasn't easy, and they had to make sure that everybody was aware of the dangers that came with it.

"Her girlfriend was killed by a Chimera," Ava blurted out, wincing when her voice came a little too loud— loud enough for Jo to hear. Hazel eyes darted towards the bonfire quickly, just in time to see her sister freeze up. Before she could fix the situation, the young girl was on her feet and running away from the bonfire, leaving Ava to deal with the fact that, shit, she just said that out loud. Letting out a resigned sigh, she allowed her head to fall into her palms, before looking back up at Arizona with a pained look. "We couldn't save her, Riz— I couldn't save her. And my sister hates me."[/fancypost][/fancypost]
