  • [color=white]It was 2016 in London, England. Amelia Richardson was walking home from work one day when, BAM! She fainted and fell to the hard pavement below her. When she woke up, she wasn't in 2016 anymore...she was in 1732! Confused and unknowing of where she is, a strange young man appeared and helped her to her feet. Little did she know that the man who helped her was a prince. Amelia has no way of getting home, and she's frightened. What will the boy do? What will Amelia do?

Where...am I? I was just walking down one of the sidewalks in London, and then BAM! Now I'm here. All I remember is fainting and now I'm waking up in a meadow. I looked myself over, no broken bones. Just a deep cut on my knee and an insane headache. I clutched my head and look around. "Where am I?" I whispered.

  • Nicholas Philip Botello

I was walking through the meadow just trying to relax from all my duties. Then I saw a woman laying on the ground. "Are you okay miss?" I asked bending down and reaching out a hand for her to grab onto. She looked rather confused about her surroundings, but I was going to try and help her.

  • I turned and looked up at the young man offering me his hand. I took it, "I-I think so." Once I was on my feet I continued to look around, before letting my eyes fall on the handsome stranger in front of me. He was wearing some strange clothes. He looked like some sort of Disney prince. I blinked wondering what was going on. "I don't know what happened," I said softly, more to myself than the stranger. I rubbed my head, it still hurt. "Can you tell me where I am?" I asked the young man.

  • I pulled her up to her feet and gave her a quick look over. She definitely looked out of place, I honestly had no clue where she could have come from. "Well you're in the outer meadows of London. Now this might seem odd, but where did you come from? I don't think I've seen someone like you before" I said.

  • I stared at him, "I'm from London. But something's weird, I don't know how I got here." I looked around, how could I not know or remember how I got here ? Did I get kidnapped. No, why would they dump me in a meadow then? The more I thought about how I got here, the more my head hurt. I looked back at the stranger, "What do you mean 'someone like me'?" I asked. I thought I looked like every other Londoner. I looked down at my clothes. I was wearing jean shorts, a T-shirt and my favorite hoodie. Nothing too strange, I thought. He was the one that looked strange with his fairytale clothes.

  • I looked at her intriguied about this strange woman. How can she say she's from London? No one there wears whatever she's wearing right now. Maybe she's confused I thought. "Well for starters, your clothes. I've never seen anything like it before" I responded crossing my arms

  • I glanced down at my clothes again, almost feeling a little insulted. "What do you mean? This normal for people," I told him. "You on the other hand look like you walked right out of a fairytale. You're the one dressing weird, " I told him.

  • I stared at her in disbelief over what she had said. How dare she insult me! Saying I came out of a fairy tale, what even are those? I thought glaring at her. "Fine, if you don't believe me, go into the town and see for yourself then" I retorted.

  • "Fine, I will." I turned my head a little, then realizing I had no idea where town was. I cleared my throat a little, "Can you um, show me where town is? I'm exremely lost," I admitted.

  • Once we reached the town, my mouth fell open. "Oh. My. God," I breathed. This didn't look like the London I knew. The buildings are different, the people were dressed differently and there were no cars. Jusr horse-drawn carriages. My eyes widened. No way. It can't be. I turned to the young man, "What year is this?" I was almost afraid to ask.

  • As we entered the town, I could feel everyone's gaze on me. I moved my gaze away from them and kept it on her to keep calm. "It's 1732, is something the matter?" I asked noticing her confusion.

  • I almost fainted. I stared at him wide-eyed, "What? You're serious?" From the way he was looking at me, I could tell he was. How could this be? How could I be in 1732? This has to be a dream. It has to be. There's no other explanation. I clutched my still aching head, trying not to hyperventilate. The pain I felt in my cut knee is also real. I raked a hand through my hair. I looked around at the town, people were started to stare. I couldn't tell if they were staring at me or the stranger. Probably me because of the clothes I was wearing. The people of London in 1732 probably weren't used to seeing so much skin of a young girl in public. Everyone was wearing dresses, covering from their neck down to their ankles. This is insane. What I'm wearing right now should be the last thing I should be concerned about. I'm stuck in 1732 from goodness sake! How do I get home?

I looked back over at the young man who was still staring at me. I can't tell him I'm from the future. He would probably tell everyone that I'm crazy and he would most likely have me burned at the stake or something. No, I couldn't tell him. I don't even know him. It's better to lie. I took a deep breath, "No um, everything is fine," I lied. I clutched my head, "I just hit my head pretty hard and it left me all confused. I didn't know where or when I was," I forced a chuckle. "But now I do. Thank you for helping me."

  • I could tell she was lying about everything being fine, but I didn't push any more information out of her. She did seem rather freaked out after all everyone was looking over at the two of us. "Hey, I think since you're going stay here, you might want to get something more appropriate to wear" I said before handing her a bit of money for her to spend at a dress shop.

  • I don't know if he bought it, but pretending that I have amnesia is all I got to hold onto right now. "That's really kind of you, thank you," I smiled gratefully. That solves one problem, but another was where I was going to stay tonight. Since it obviously looked like I wasn't going home soon. "Do you know of anyplace I can stay for the night?"

(He should invite her to stay with him ;D)

  • "Well you could stay with me for the night if you'd like, but we might what to get out of here" I whispered leading her down the street. She seemed like she was going to need some help and I didn't think she needed the extra stress of being stared at in her state. "So we're going into the dress shop, you go in and pick whatever you want, alright?" I explained

  • I looked at him, "Stay with you? Fine but don't get any ideas," I said as I walked with him. When we got to the dress shop I proceeded to go inside. "I'll just be a few minutes," I said over my shoulder not sure if he was following me in or not. I looked around and there were dresses everywhere. Big and pastel, and some with different fabric designs. Never thought I would have to shop for a dress like these. I almost laughed at the idea. The only woman in the store was sitting at a desk currently sewing a dress together. She looked up at me and I can tell she was shocked. "Hello, I'm looking to buy a dress," I said awkwardly. The woman blinked and stood up from her chair. She looked me up at down. "Well it looks like you most certainly need one," she said before hurrying over to me.

As the woman fetched new undergarments for me to wear I looked around the shop at the dresses. I picked a lavender one with pearl beading. "This'll do," I said softly to myself. A few minutes later I was changed into the new undergarments and the woman took me behind a large screen so she could tighten my corset. I could barely breath. It felt like it was squishing my organs together. "Almost done," she told me as she finished with the last few laces. Then she helped me put the dress on. It felt heavy my body, like it was weighing me down. How did these women wear these all the time?

The woman finished lacing the back of the dress and brought me to the mirror. "It looks beautiful on you," she smiled. And it did. It wasn't extravagant but I still looked like a princess. "I would like to buy this one," I said, not caring it was the first one I tried on. The woman nodded and I gave her the money for the dress. "What would you like me to do with your erm...clothes?" she asked looking at them on the floor uncomfortably. "You can just throw them out. Thank you again," I told her before turning around and looking for the stranger who helped me.

  • "I would never harm a beautiful lady such as yourself" I said as we arrived. I nodded as she walked inside to try on her dress. I glanced through the window to see the store owner tightening her and then placing a petticoat. I decided to enter the store to see her finishing putting on her dress. I smiled looking at her in the dress. "You look beautiful" I said alerting the two of them of his presence.

  • The woman and I both turned around to meet the young stranger. I couldn't help but smile a little at his compliment. "Thank you," I said warmly.

(Amelia didn't see the woman behind her bow to the prince, so his identity is still a secret. She'll find out when they get to the castle ;D)

I took one last good look at my reflection in the mirror. I looked different, but I was still me. I turned to look at the handsome stranger, "I'm ready. Shall we go?"

  • "We shall" I said holding out a hand for her and lead her out of the store. I had noticed that the owner had bowed, but was grateful the beautiful stranger beside didn't see. She'll find out eventually my mind reminded me as we walked. "So may I ask if the beautiful lady has a beautiful name?" I asked
