territory;
cloudedclan is settled in a dense oak forest that is typically blanketed in fog. when the fog has disappeared for a while, you will see scattered prey and a range of different types of plants. the camp itself though is tucked away in the protection of the oak trees. the leader sleeping in a hollowed out hole which can only be reached by climbing the bark of the tree. the medicine cat is stationed below the trees on the ground behind a thorn barrier artificially made by the clan. warriors usually sleep in the lower branches of the tree, their nests being supported by thicker or connected branches. apprentices, queens and storytellers sleep generally close together, though the storytellers sleep in a hollowed out tree, queens sleeping in a small hollowed out cave in the base of a rock whilst the apprentices dwell in a crawl space beneath the roots of a tree. like the medicine cat, they are protected by barriers of thorns since they're positioned on the ground which makes them more vulnerable to predators.
ranks;
leader {1}- they are the guide of the clan, making the important decisions that can/will affect the clan. they choose who to promote and demote in the clan.
lieutenants {2}- the second in commands of the clan. they help the leader with the task of leading the clan, though they cannot make the important decisions; however, they can attempt to persuade the leader to take a certain measure if they so please. if the leader is to die, the two are to commence in a duel for leadership. the one who loses must either stay a lieutenant or demote his or herself back down to a warrior.
healers {1-2}- cats trained in the ways of healing, they are very important to the clan. they're to keep the clan healthy and take care of the sick, elderly and youth. they are responsible for training and trialing their apprentices.
healers apprentice {1-2}- these are apprentices who are to be taught the ways of healing. before they can become a healer, they must pass a trial given to them by their mentors (ranges from reciting all of the known herbs and their properties to treating an injured comrade), if they're to fail, they must remain an apprentice for three moons and do their trial again. they are given three chances at taking the trial, if they fail all three, they are demoted to a warrior's apprentice and given to a new mentor.
warriors- the combat and hunting experts of the clan, they are most useful on the ground. they are responsible for protecting the clan in all situations, teaching their apprentices and trialing them at the end period.
scouts {1-3}- these are the cats who are usually out all day on patrol, looking for enemies, loners and rogues etc. they are trained in climbing and are typically experts at it (compared to the rest of the clan to which is average). they are to report back to the leader, lieutenants and warriors when they spot trouble on the rise. the scouts are to choose an apprentice they deem worthy of their training to become a scout. if the apprentice fails they must stay an apprentice for another 4 moons until they can complete a re-trial given by their mentor. if the apprentice fails, they are sent to become a warrior's apprentice.
apprentices- the youth of the clan. they are responsible for being on top of their training and prepping for their future trial which will determine if they can become promoted. if they wish to be a scout or healers apprentice, they must express this to one of the scouts or healers.
kits- the youth of the clan. they are prized among the clan and are protected highly (along with their mothers). they are expected to show some sort of potential that would help benefit the clan. they are to know which path they wish to follow by the time their apprentice promotion comes along.
queens- the queens are considered prized among the clan and are protected above all. they are to gift the clan with the birth of new kits with high potential. they have no responsibilities so far.
storytellers- the olden of the clan. they are responsible for hunting, when and if they can. they are typically known for their story telling to those among the clan to which entertains all to no ends.
