The sun flickered on the white alabaster walls of the the princess's bedroom. The bright setting an irony to the emotion seen on the princess's face or rather just Kenna. For she had now been stripped of her title so said the formal letter in her hand formally delivered this morning from the hospital where the simple paternity test had been in place. None of this wouldn't have happened if her father hadn't had a heart attack the night before, of course he was fine just shaken. At least that was what Kenna had thought that he looked. With a sigh, Kenna pulled herself out from beneath the blissful warmth of the cotton covers. Soon all of this luxury would be taken away and she would be left in some slum outside of town with nothing but her name and story about the time she had lived in the grandeur of the palace. Thankfully that wasn't going to happen at she hoped it wasn't. She blinked her dark oculars in the harsh sun, her face set in a frown as she angrily drew the lavender drapes over the window displaying the lovely countryside. As for the letter Kenna tossed haphazardly aside, a dull burn of anger spreading within,her specifically aimed at her mother who had never even mentioned after 22 years that she was in fact just a commoner. Of course the feminine had her doubts about the paternity test because her Uncle had arranged and as in his words it was "for the best". Of course, when it came to her Uncle everything was suspicious because somehow he always managed to try to slither his way to the throne no matter what the collateral damage.

Kenna carefully opened the red oak door to reveal her closet full to the brim with every fashion imaginable. Finally she settled on a bright red top with a sharp black pencil skirt and just to add some more color a fashionable opal necklace. Might as well wear nice things now before I know it their strip me of my belongings too thought Kenna bitterly as she wiggled her feet into a pair of sharp stilettos. Honestly, she hadn't even wanted to get out of bed this morning. Her face still slightly red from last night's cry fest in her pillow, of course to one outside the palace losing your title is just as simple as losing your job but to Kenna it was something entirely different it was her livelihood, her whole entire life built inside this dream palace only to ripped down and thrown away. Of course, today was the day when the poor little orphan prince would come to explore his new kingdom he had acquired. Kenna let out a sigh of disgust, just thinking about the next heir to the throne was enough to make her heart shrivel inside. Of course she cursed parents for her being an only child, at least if the palace was in the hands of a sibling then maybe she would be somewhat satisfied. But to a complete stranger? It seemed absurd yet it was the only option because no way was her Uncle going to slither his way in on top that velvet throne. The woman turned as she heard a sharp knock on her door, "What?" she said sharply as the door swung open to reveal one of the servants. "Her majesty the Queen requests your presence at breakfast," said the servant stiffly holding open the door for her to go out of. Kenna fought the urge to roll her eyes, she hadn't spoken to her mother since the news of her father not actually being her father came out. "This will be a treat," she muttered under her breath as she stalked out the door, there was no use in keeping her mother waiting. The Queen would only be more persistent.

The hallway smelled of fresh bread and fruit as she walked towards the dining hall wear she could hear her mother discussing the day's activities with her secretary. She hurriedly walked into the room avoiding eye contact as she heaped fruit on her plate. Her mother's secretary scurrying away. "Kenna," her mother said sharply as Kenna looked up at the woman she loathed most right now. "Yes, mother any other surprising news like your suddenly marrying me off to some wild tribal King?" said Kenna sarcastically staring at her mother defiantly, her eyes brimming with angry fire. "No need to use that tone darling. And yes, this does concern the topic of marriage but not to some far-away King this person is a bit closer," said the Queen taking a sip of her herbal tea in her fine china teacup. "And who is this dashing prince," said Kenna feeling her anger flare. "The orphan prince, the one coming here today actually," said the Queen staring Kenna directly in the eye, her coral lips upturned into a small smile. The feminine nearly choked on the piece of strawberry, "Your asking me to fall in love with the prince who basically is ruining my life and taking my title!" spat Kenna her voice growing louder. "Now darling you must understand, I only want the best for you and the only way to do that is marry the person next in line for the throne," said the Queen calmly sipping her tea as if this matter was nothing but discussing a flower arrangement. "And h*ll will freeze over before that happens," she said angrily as she thrust her napkin on the table and walked out of the room. Her mother always seemed to be this way, always pressuring her into some major decision never once taking in consideration Kenna's opinions. A loud fanfare of trumpets interrupted her stormy thoughts, the prince had arrived.

The time has come for the crown prince to find his queen. Eligible maidens are selected from all over the kingdom to come live at the palace for a certain period of time. While they are there a will learn the art of royalty meanwhile the prince tries to find the woman he loves. But not all of these maidens are so keen on falling for the Prince but any other sort of romance is forbidden. Then what happens when happens when one of the Selected falls for a guard?

It is a stormy night at Castle Whiteoak when there is a sudden knock at the castle door. The hour is late and one of the servants comes to answer the door only to reveal a princess standing soaked in the rain a series of scratches on her arms and blood on her dress. The servant thinking that she is royalty ushers her inside. The Prince hearing commotion at the gates comes down to see the princess. But you see this strange girl who has arrived at the castle doors is not some confused lost princess, it is simply all a ruse. Her true identity is that she is a trained assassin from one of the kingdom's rivals sent to seduce the prince and hopefully take his throne.
