appearance: it's obvious by the wolf pup's fur that he's built for cold weather, hence his name prefix of "northern-". his fur is thick and long, allowing him to keep warm in the colder temperatures. (this makes summer heat almost unbearable for him - it won't be uncommon to find the pup splashing around in whatever water sources he can find to cool off in the summer.)
this fur is rather hard to groom, which means that northurnpup looks constantly disheveled, with tufts of hair sticking out of place here and there. his lack of care for cleanliness is extremely apparent - as well as his fur looking messy all the time, his paws are often covered in mud or dirt, and he'll often have leaves or other debris in his pelt.
the male has a rather slim build, which makes his unusually large ears and paws look quite out of place. northernpup is a very clumsy fellow, always tripping over his own feet or bumping into objects accidentally. luckily, when he gets older he'll grow into his disproportionate paws and be very fast and agile.
as far as the actual coloration of the wolf pup, the dominant color of his fur is a dull ashy brown with an almost gray tint. however, the color is noticeably lighter on his paws, stomach, chest, and muzzle, as well as part of his tail. his eyes are a light chocolate brown shade, wide and innocent-looking.
personality: northernpup has good intentions typically, but he's horrible at reading emotions. he doesn't know when he's hurting someone's feelings, or when he's going too far with what he says. sometimes he can even manipulate or guilt others into doing things for him without even realizing it. the way he holds himself - in a rather proud, smug, uncaring manner - can make him appear rude or even arrogant at times.
but, however, "arrogant" he seems, that would be one of the worst words to use to describe him. he hates talking about himself, and if anyone else brings up something about him - whether it be his successes, failures, whatever, he's quick to change the subject. to be honest, the pup is rather self-conscious.
he also hates confrontation, which likely comes as a surprise to most others as well. because of his inability to be empathetic towards others he often appears cold and uncaring, so many he'd appear to be just the type of character who'd get into a fight with anyone without even batting an eyelash. however, the moment someone says something aggressive or stands up to northernpup he's quick to back down, while coming up with lame excuses to justify himself or his actions. (saying things like "oh- i was just kidding!" or "why can't we all get along?")
northernpup has a sense of humor that could only be described as "eccentric." it's hard to tell when he's joking and when he's being serious, and some of the things he says are so out of line and even offensive that it can leave others confused. he really doesn't have a verbal filter - the moment a comment reaches his mind, it's leaving the tip of his tongue also. it doesn't matter what the thought is - about someone's appearance, personality, actions, or even the weather, if he thinks of it, he's going to say it. northernpup also tends to laugh at his own jokes.
as well as this, the pup is also quite flirty.. as in, he'll hit on anything that moves. though he rarely actually means anything with his romantic gestures or comments, it's common to see him winking or tossing out a pick-up line or some semi-inappropriate banter. to tell whether he's joking or not is nearly impossible, and this is one of northernpup's traits that can make him a total wonder to those around him.
though he appears to have a lot of negative traits, he really does have good intentions and a good heart when it comes down to it. northern loves his family and his friends, and would never intentionally harm them. he's loyal to those he cares about, and overall has a quite playful, sometimes arrogant demeanor to anyone he comes in contact with.
