fancy, jude was not. he enjoyed things in life and disliked aspects of things that would have classified him as a peasant had he lived many decades ago. centuries previous to the present, his tastes would have been frowned upon. he'd take a glance upon extravagance, upon the size compared to the flavor of the fanciest dishes and the outlay compared to the aesthetic of the most longed for designs and fads in clothing, and feel no interest. he wanted things to be efficient. capable. competent. and while extravagance could display these qualities, they more often lacked them in favor of facade.

perhaps this was why the sight of a castle, while abandoned and crumbling and unappealing aesthetically to any perfectionist but still in and of itself a castle, threw jude off in at least the slightest. how well the structure held up, he did not know, and warily eyed the building for a long few moments before moving his olive gaze across the territory as a general habitat. he saw nothing of interest, or at least nothing that caught his attention beyond what he'd already seen. therefore, the alabaster male moved slightly closer to their borders, ivory tail twitching warily behind him as he settled into a seat.

despite his opinionated mind and... taboo tendencies, jude was a timid creature. he was au fait with this fact, not minding it as he wouldn't want to bother with the effort of changing himself or even attempting to. because of his shyness, he didn't want to interact with anyone. he really, really didn't. and jude was well aware of the rumors of inactivity among this clan in particular, something that didn't bother him. but he didn't want to wait to be accepted into what he believed to be an idle clan; he wanted to get the process of joining over with as quickly as he could.

chops parting in a deep yawn, he settled his flickering dock and curled it around his paws instead, waiting with ticking patience.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 375px;][justify]The fem was still reeling from her own inactivity and liked the authority of her rank. She was trying to do all that she could in hopes to keep her position as one of the two Vocatus generals. That, and her desire to fight the feeling of incompetence that had sparked in her when that Malakai guy had to explain what a border patrol was to Ianthe drove her to be at the borders more. Para didn't feel a need to try and impress the huge cat, but there was no downside to catching up on basic duties that herself and many others failed to complete on a daily basis. She was doing more exploring, hunting, and was trying to keep a more watchful eye. The tiger almost didn't see Jude at first. Her eyes doubled back to the foreign animal, body language changing drastically from the disinterest she displayed only an instant ago. "Hey," Paramedictones greeted casually. "Name and business?" She asked.

It was perhaps a luckier thing then, that Paramedictones ws the first to greet the newcomer. While Malakai wasn't in the habit of senselessly attacking other he was also not the sort to let things like skipping formalities at the border either. He was the formal sort himself, always working and too-serious for others to get close to. As he spotted Paramedic with the pale feline though, his silvery blue gaze would narrow in a mixture of frustration and curiosity. This was the second person to ignore their border altogether in the same day, and he wasn't keen on seeing people make a habit of it. They may have been slow here but it was only because nobody came around to give them a chance. Malakai was always here, always watching. Getting to his paws the sabertooth would teleport over to Paramedictones, letting a soft huff escape him. "We have borders, you know." he would remind the strangers, before offering a nod of greeting. "Malakai Dimera." he'd add, introducing himself briefly. Hopefully it was a joiner. They'd have to go remark those borders if people were going to keep coming in like this though.

  • [justify][fancypost bgcolor=; border: none; width:420px; line-height:13px; font-size: 8pt; font-family: verdana]apparently, jude had spotted paramedictones before he himself been noticed, descrying malakai shortly afterward. a tiger and a sabertooth, two creatures that could metaphorically smother him beneath their very paws if they so wished. they were behemoth in comparison to his delicate framework, their structures dwarfing his with ease, and though their tones were not threatening by his standards, he still found himself uneasy as they seemed to tower over him. despite this, he willed himself to not feel intimidated when their gazes fixed.

jude addressed them respectively, the routine question and then what followed, angling his head upward in the slightest to even view them both. while paramedictones seemed easygoing with his near trespassing, he noticed that malakai dimera - who had seemed to erupt from thin air - took verbal note of his dismissal of the borders. he didn't mind, however, agreeing silently that remaining on the boundaries of their clan would have been a more desirable decision, one that was generally expected of anyone. but he'd been noticed quicker than he was expecting to by wandering a bit deeper than he'd supposed to, and for that he didn't mind bending the rules slightly.

jude wasn't a troublemaker, but if it got him his way, he wouldn't mind stirring the laws.

but nobody needed to know that.

"jude," was the calcimine male's name, voice soft. his purpose for being here in the first place came quickly afterward; "i'm here to join." reseda eyes flitted to malaki following, and he briefly said, "it's nice to meet you, malakai." a smile flitted across his features, although it looked more like a smirk - a simper.

Jude. It was simple, and not alike the other more humanistic name's he'd heard before. He'd never been huge on the clan themed names- he didn't hate them, they just sounded less natural to him. "Well met then, I suppose. If you have any questions let me know. I lead The Blackheart Rogues, and Juno is in charge of The Vocatus, but we share the territory and camp so don't be surprised if you see the two mingling." the blue and silver male would explain, figuring it would be best to get the basics out of the way since the way they did things here was a little different. "Your welcome to join just one, or both of them." the rogue would add, before gesturing to a rather well worn trail leading deeper into the territory. "That path there will lead you straight to the camp. It's a big castle, hard to miss."
