Water, gurgling, rushing water.

The river cut through the emerald dotted landscape, a big blue slash in the towering canopy of the forest. Stones spotted the tan banks, surprisingly dry in the noon-high sun that beat down on the earth below. The heat was tangible in the humid air, thick as a smothering wool blanket. In the beginning of summer, the days were hot and still growing hotter; the air thick with water vapor and the skies scattered with white, billowing clouds. It was the bane of all animals (excluding the miscreants that actually enjoy it).

Lounging by the muddy, brackish water of the estuary that fed out to the sea was Temari, the jaguar lying in the cool waves that lapped against her azure pelt. Her tail flicked lazily from side to side, ripples spreading from where it touched the water. The female's eyes were open just a sliver, the white startling bright against the backdrop of her navy blue face.

Boredom chewed in the feline's chest as she stared at the rainforest lying a few hundred feet away from her. She could possibly get out of the water but to do so would require stepping onto the hot stones that were currently baking in the sun, and which to say was quite unpleasant to walk on. Sighing, the jaguar sank lower in the water and kicked out, letting herself drift towards deeper water, watching as the shore started to grow smaller.
