It was a nice day outside; the spring sun shone down on the village and the sounds of prey could be heard out in the forest. Beverly, however, was not out enjoying the warmth. No, she was hard at work in the library as usual, nose in a book. This particular book was one she had found concerning human anatomy. It was odd, really; weren't humans mean? Why'd they have so many books about them? Nonetheless, surely this knowledge could be used in other species. Cats had livers, right?

At the current moment, she was reading a section concerning various health issues that could arise if one doesn't take proper care of themselves. Obesity, infections...wait, infections? Those were what Hazylogic had told her about that one time during checkups. Maybe she would know more about this kind of thing! Primary sources were very important, after all; she had read that in a book.

And so the mottled gray feline rose to her paws swiftly, dashing out of her book fort and onto the front steps of the library. Her tail tip twitched from side to side as she scanned the area, looking for a sign of the doctor. Ah yes, there she was! Jogging to catch up with the female, Bev smiled. "Hazylogic!! I have questions for you!" the child proclaimed through her panting. "You gotta tell me more about infections n' stuff!"

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 375px;][justify]Hazylogic had deemed a walk to be just the thing to clear her overwhelmed mind, stepping out of her cottage after mustering up what courage she had, taking in a deep breath of fresh air. It was nice to finally feel the sun on her pelt after being cooped up in her cottage. The relief was short-lived, as she realized so many NPCs around and interacting with each other, paranoid they were talking about her specifically. She did her best to push these thoughts to the back of her mind as she walked past, startled by Beverly's sudden calling of her name. Turning, she offered the young one a smile, wondering why she would possibly want her of all people. "Oh? I-Is that so?" she chuckled, nodding her head. "Well, ah, wh-what would you li-like to know?" the doctor asked, taking a seat and wrapping her tail around her paws.

As the doctor turned to greet her, Beverly's smile grew wider and he tail lashed. Yes, she could ask her questions now! "Oh! I wanted to ask..." The child's voice trailed off as she realized she had no specific questions in mind. What did she want to know? Biting her lip in thought, the feline's gaze fixed absentmindedly on Hazylogic's chest. There was so much she could ask! Perhaps it was best to start from the beginning. "Oh! I have one: what exactly is an infection? Is it like...it's bad for you, right? Like, I read that they can hurt. That's not good! How do you get an infection? How do you make 'em go away? How do you know you have an infection?" The questions poured from the girl's mouth as her train of thought pulled out of the metaphorical station, her former enthusiasm clearly returning. Running out of breath, she paused for a moment to collect her thoughts.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 375px;][justify]Hazylogic listened to the questions that rained from Beverly's mouth, nodding as she went. Then, once the kit had finished, carefuly explained so she wouldn't get lost. "Well, for st-starters, an infection c-can occur if you, um, don't treat wounds c-correctly. I-It's when another or-organism gets inside via th-the wound and begins to feed off the ho-host. It then re-reproduces and causes the infection. These sorts of or-organisms are called 'parasites.' You can tell, uh, if you have one i-if you're experiencing a fever, swelling, aches, feeling sluggish and lacking in energy, or fl-fluid drainage." she finally finished, hoping she had given her the answer she had been looking for. "If an infection goes u-untreated, it can get re-really bad, or can even k-kill you."
