PLOT
8,000 years ago, the continent of Atlantis sank beneath the waters of the Atlantic in a great cataclysm known as the Mehbelmok---The Great Flood. It's denizens banished to the bowels of the earth, after having nearly destroyed themselves from misusing the power of the Heart of Atlantis, the world moved on without them, the lost empire slowly fading into nothing more than legends and folklore, as well as the fabled Shepherd's Journal, the key to finding the whereabouts of the ancient city.
A few Atlanteans did survive the Mehbelmok, however, and their descendants went on to live among the people of the surface. Some never forgot their heritage. Others blended perfectly well into their new surroundings. And others still thought it best to distance themselves from their past, for fear of history repeating itself. Nevertheless, the destinies of these descendants was the same, to rediscover their lost ancestry, and to reunite with their people.
That is where our story begins.
SYNOPSIS
NOTE: This is recommended for those who have watched the movie and are familiar with the plot. If you have not watched the movie and you dislike spoilers, this thread probably isn't for you.
We will be redoing the plot of the original movie in this thread, the only difference being that we will be adding our own characters and subplots to it just to spice things up a bit. If you have any questions about this, feel free me to ask me. Fair warning, I may or may not have sufficient answers, but I will try my best :).
RULES
1. All FeralFront rules apply here, as is the case of every other thread. They therefore need to be respected.
2. Fighting during the RP/in the OC will not be tolerated. You either take it somewhere else, or you work it out and make no further issue of it. Failure to do this WILL result in a ban. No questions. No excuses. NOTHING. Comprende?
3. This is a semi-advanced/advanced Roleplay, depending on your skill. I expect at least a legitimate five sentence paragraph per post, but if you feel you can go beyond that, by all means, be my guest!
4. No killing off other people's OC'S/CC'S. Not accusing anyone of anything when I say this, but please just remember this.
5. If you wish to play as a Canon, make a request for it by using one of the Sign-Up forms, filling it with information of that character. Be sure to put your username in the Other section when you are done, so that I know who is requesting.
6. Try to keep the number of Surface Worlders and Atlanteans balanced. We don't want too many on one side and too little on the other.
7. If you read these rules, put "Where the Dream Takes You" in the Other section.

Therefore, the process of aging is longer for them, possible thanks to the healing and strengthening effects of their crystals, which are fragments of the Heart of Atlantis. For example, an Atlantean who looks to be in their 20's could actually be 6,000/8,000 to 9,000/12,000 years old. Keep that in mind when creating your Atlantean characters! :P

Name: "I actually have two different birth names. My mother's name for me was Kedomatat, but I more often than not go by Evan, my father's grandfather's name."

Gender: "Wow. Your vision must not be very developed." Male.

Ethnicity: "My father was from Great Britain, whereas my mother was of Cherokee descent. So that makes me half British, half Cherokee...wait, no, third British, third Cherokee, and third...something else that I'm not sure about..."
Rank/Line of Work: "Well, I'm not in the military, so scratch rank off the question. As for line of work, I consider myself the top of my field in paleontology, zoology, and botany. Too many? Then just shorten it to 'biology in all its extended branches'."
Atlantean Descendant?: "Atlantis? Oh, I've heard about it, but come on, there's no way I am linked to it." Yes, but he doesn't find out until much later in the story.
Personality: "Let's not drag this out for too long, I got a dig that needs to be taken care of." Evan has almost no time for humor. He prefers to live his life in accordance with pure fact, all day, every day, without a break. You can imagine how frustrating it is for him, then, when he can't find the answer to a nagging question - or when gets the answer, but it isn't the answer he wants. In that sense, he's a bit insecure, the main reason why he spends most of his time alone. Because of his insecurity, he finds it a bit difficult to fully trust people, but those he can, he is the most open around, revealing the warm, compassionate side of his personality that he has so adeptly hidden from everyone else's eyes.
History: "..." The life Evan used to lead is nowadays a thing of the past, but it has never ceased in haunting him to this very day.
His father was a soldier who was rarely ever at home as much of his time was spent in the battles overseas in Europe, leaving Evan alone with his mother, Laura, for the majority of his childhood. Fortunately, he never did grow spiteful toward his father for leaving them behind so often, despite feeling a bit resentful toward the wars that constantly took him away. And with his mother there to watch over him, the one face he knew he could turn to for anything, he was content.
That all changed, however, come the Bambatha Rebellion in 1906. By then, Evan was ten years old, though already an exceptionally bright lad for his age. During the months of that bloody conflict, his father was severely wounded after being caught in the line of fire. Several weeks later, a letter was sent to Laura, saying that her husband had died from gangrene infection and internal bleeding. There was nothing the medics could do for him, and the general's deepest sympathies were sent.
It was not long after when Laura abruptly became ill, from what the doctors could not hope to comprehend. But one thing was clear - she did not have much time to live. Evan, however, was the most afflicted. He always knew that his father knew the risks that came with serving in the army - his death would have come eventually. But the thought of losing his mother - the one person whom he had looked to all his life, and shared the deepest of bonds with, was something he could not hope to bear. Thus came the intense period of grief when at last, Laura's final breath left her, but not before leaving to him a remnant of her family legacy - a mysterious, icy-blue crystal necklace - and urging him to keep searching for the truth. The truth of what, he has yet to discover for himself.

Personality: "It's good to be serious, but there's no point if you don't have some fun in between." Imada knows that her role as a hunter to provide for her family is not something to be taken lightly, but she also knows the importance of always remembering to have fun, no matter what you are doing. Her sweet, playful side is impossible not to warm up to, however the last thing you want to do is make her angry, for she'll make sure to get you back somehow, someway, someday. Her dedication to loved ones is fierce, and she will stop at nothing to protect them from harm.
History: "My mother birthed me eight hundred years after the Mehbelmok. My little sisters Sora and Amu came 2,400 years after me. By then, my people had settle dwell enough into our banishment beneath the sea, but it seemed that no one except me had realized just how much we had lost. Much of my childhood I spent wandering the fallen temples, exploring the ruins, and thinking about what marvels they must have been in the better days. There grew less time for my wanderings once I became a hunter, but to this day, when there are no patrols on foot, I will return to the same ruins, and keep searching for answers."
