He was dead, the wolf's reddish brown gaze glazed over and sightless, fur matted with blood. Whatever had happened made the poor creature suffer. Maybe he would be back in a new body, but for now he was gone.

❧ why did blood have to be so damn alluring? the fem dragged her paws towards the scent, wondering if it was just stale fresh-kill or maybe an injured joiner. death didn't occur to her until she actually encountered the body. and, despite her brain telling her to feast, she felt sick to her stomach. death would never be something she could just overlook. "ah, crap." she murmured, keeping her distance. she recognized the body as keaton's and, knowing this was once a clan member, felt even more sick. "rest in peace, keaton." she murmured quietly, dipping her head.

No matter what, her heart would still tighten in her chest, and she'd have to suppress a strangled sob. "Keaton.." The servaline echoed, biting down on her bottom lip, and feeling her chin tuck towards her chest, as her oculars skirted the ground, and watched her own tears descend from her features, and towards the soil below.

Ah, but was it even true either? Lacelock may appear numb on the outside but her heart still ached for those lost. She approached the corpse with a neutral expression, bowing her head and closing her eyes in order to pay her respects. Although she wasn't particularly close to Keaton he had still been a valuable member of the Clan. He had hopes and dreams... He had found love... And now his life was over. What had brought about this terrible end? There was plenty of indication it was murder but no evidence to point at a who. Was BlizzardClan becoming unsafe? The head paladin wanted to believe the home she loved so dearly would never fall to that point. She would just have to try harder to protect those around her.[/fancypost]
