APPEARANCE: everyone regards life within a different way but let us look at the way an artist captures it for writing is an art form, is it not, therefore a writer is an artist in their own personal way. please, take a seat and allow me to paint you a picture of this child, one made of the ebony of an eternal night and the blue of the ever moving ocean. such would bore you though so i will continue on for we do not want a wandering mind, it would leave a bad example for this child and would tarnish your view on him so let us begin.
first allow me the chance to paint what is beneath, the structure of the body which ties everything together for what is this child without his body, the platform on which he is built. wolfsong was not born a rather large creature nor one of runty size, but as a good medium. the size that would be considered something of perfection, just tall enough, and just small enough. when still referred to as "child", this youth held willowy limbs that sprouted out in a similar fashion to lanky spider legs. he was quite the opposite of the "baby fat" of usual animals and rather was extremely lanky and awkward appearing. however, as time moved onwards, wolfsong grew to be quite built. skinny limbs buffened out to become well formed, as a matter of fact, the whole of his body became filled out and the once slightly under-weight child became a rather well built young creature.
moving up we go into the finer details now, the fur which coats this body. there is nothing extraordinary about this, not at all. he inherits this trait from his mother indefinable, a pure black like a night sky lacking a star and moon.

PERSONA: archetypes and tropes are something well known within the history of literature; from the eye-patched villain with a crackly laugh to the mean girl cheerleader who rules the school. so on this wide spectrum, one may ask, where does our wolfsong fall? he would be a character found in the stories of old, something similar to king arthur. he is not the hero, but rather the noble knight. the hero's grandest companion, the one who has stood and fought by his or her side since the beginning and will do so loyally until the end. while this highlights the over-all feel of the child's persona, it does not even begin to scratch the complexity of his character; and so i shall be the humble one to enlighten you.
i suppose you expect to read how everyone "simply knew" from the moment he came to them that wolfsong would become a warrior, but that was far from the case. when he was a child, many figured him to go on into the medical field, never to harm another creature, as he seemed to simply not be suited for the rage of battle. why, one may ask, would his clan come to such a conclusion? because he was kind. wolfsong held a heart like a fawn; he always smiled brightly and hated the sight of blood. he noted that many people in this world are not as lucky as him, and thus decided he needed to show compassion and kindness to everyone he meets- to do his little part of making them have a better day. it would have seemed wolfsong's one goal in life as a child was to make sure everyone else was happy, he would do anything to cheer someone up, even to those who are unkind towards him, and would stop at nothing to make others smile. he was shy, not anti-social, and as sensitive as he was gentle. so of course, it was the first thought of all that he could never be a true warrior, he was too soft, held to kind a heart.
but they missed it. they missed the spark.
they missed the little moments. they missed when the child known as wolfsong fought through those tears to protect his friend from the bully, they had not seen him watching over the younger children carefully as they played, and they had been facing the other direction when an rogue crossed the border and wolfsong stuttered out for him to leave his clan alone. you see, it was due to his great heart that all thought that wolfsong could never be a warrior, that it was a weakness, a fault. but the truth of the matter is one they did not see; having a soft heart in a cruel world, that's courage, not weakness. and so he grew to become a warrior. he was reckless, no doubt, having more guts than brains when it came to most matters and got himself into so many tight spots on the battlefield that most find it a miracle he's yet to lose his life, more than one person would call him a fool for some of the things he's done and the morals he upholds, he was more stubborn than a bull, sure, but never once had wolfsong treated another creature cruelly or without fairness.
wolfsong is loyal, though such a thing is not easily earned from him. for he is not a warrior who bends his head to a leader simply because they hold the power, no, a person has to prove he is worthy of the title, of wolfsong's faith, before this youth bows down to him. wolfsong is more likely to bow down to a wise women with no rank than a mad ruler with no sense, and that is a fact. once such loyalty is earned, wolfsong is fiercely devoted to this person- whether friend or rival- and would be willing to put his life on the line for them. selfless. that's the word many would find for the young one, as he would give his life readily for a friend or his clan, but it is from this selflessness that his selfishness is born. wolfsong holds a great sense of justice, he knows very well what is right and wrong, and that the needs of the many outdue the needs of few, but if he were faced between saving four of his dearest loved ones over the entirety of a clan; he would choose the later.
wolfsong is quite formal however, often throwing out "yes sirs" and "yes mams", but formal as he is he is not one to not appreciate a joke. he is good natured, playful teasing is not above wolfsong, but he knows when to sober up. some say he can be, in fact, a little too serious at certain times; wolfsong has a tendency to overthink subjects to the point he worries himself near to death. prideful, he carries himself with great dignity and does not take to others insulting his clan or his loved ones, lightly. wolfsong is a level headed creature, scarce to lose his temper, but when he does it is quite a display. another thing about the noble youth, he tends to bottle up his feelings, not wishing to burden others with his anger or grief. it's his pride, i think, that makes wolfsong slow to ask help from those around him. but as time goes on, carrying one's burdens alone causes it to become heavier and heavier, until it eventually breaks you all together.[/fancypost]
