  • Dipper listened to an ongoing conversation a few cages away between three dogs. He couldn't make out what they were saying, nor could he tell if it was important of just casual conversation. Either way, listening to the muttering of their voices helped him block out Ralph in the back.

Ralph finally stopped with a loud whine. "How come nobody is talking to me?" he wondered aloud.
"Everyone is sleepy," Dipper lied, not having the heart to tell him that everyone probably found him annoying. If they were here for longer, he was sure they'd get used to Ralph eventually though.
"Oh..sorry." Ralph quickly quieted down. He didn't want to interrupt any "sleep." Ralph looked at Dipper, who was laying down. Ralph did the same, now completely silent.

  • Mac noticed that the room grew silent and he himself quieted down, not wanting the others to hear his plan just yet because he had a feeling they'd all get riled up. He wondered if his plan would even work, he also wondered what the consequences would be if it failed.

"So, when will we carry the plan out?" Molly whispered, tilting her head to the side. "Sometime soon, don't worry," Mac replied, his voice low as he turned away from the two of them. He noticed that Riley was still shaking and panicking and he let out a deep sigh, "Calm down, Riley."

Riley felt even more panicked when Mac subtly yelled at him, "Sorry, s-sorry." He looked away meekly, feeling embarrassed and stressed out at the same time.

  • ((btw, i can rp one of the employees if ya want?? since youre rping 3 and im only rping 2 :0 if so just tell me when!))

Ralph rolled on his back, staring up at the ceiling of his shared cage. If it could even be considered a ceiling. He looked over at Dipper, who was staring intently in a different direction. "What's up?" Ralph's sudden voice startled Dipper.
"Oh, nothing. These dogs were just talking..I couldn't understand what they were saying." One ear perked in the direction of the sound that seemed quieter. Now, they were just hushed voices. Uninterested and bored, Dipper turned away from them, observing Ralph. The pup had finally calmed down from his hyperactivity, so he was much more tolerable, and in fact even friendly.

  • (Really? xD Wow, that'd be great, I'll tell you when your part'll come in.)

Mac sighed deeply, looking out of their cage and at the narrow walking path between all the cages. He studied all the dogs in their cages -- he wanted to know which dogs to go for when he let them free. Some dogs were extremely aggressive, so he knew not to go for them because their cages were padlocked anyway. He didn't even want to let any of them out, he was a little more focused on the three of them getting out, but he knew he'd eventually feel so guilty that he'd have to come back and help them escape soon enough.

Molly thought about the plan in her head, glancing around as she did. Unlike Mac, letting the others out was the main thing she was focusing on. None of the dogs in here deserved to be kept here, and she knew that Mac knew that as well. She felt a pang of sadness in her heart when she thought about all the dogs that passed away before this plan could be put into action.

Riley was still panicking, though he did his best not to show it. He knew Mac would be extremely mad at him because Riley was older than Molly, and Molly was handling it better than he was and she had a harder job. He couldn't help but think of everything that could go wrong; him getting caught, him getting lost, him not knowing where to go, him getting killed.

  • ((alright!!! :D))

Everything was quiet. It was eerie. It's never usually this quiet, Dipper thought to himself, his anxious eyes darting around. Perhaps this was just one of those days..except they've never had one before. There's usually always some kind of noise no matter what. Letting his confusion and curiosity fade away, Dipper closed his eyes, focusing his mind more on sleeping now than anything else.

Every now and then, Ralph let out a small yip or bark, wanting attention. Anyone's attention. He wanted to talk to someone, someone nearby, but the only ones who were nearby didn't pay any attention to him, and he wanted to leave Dipper alone for now. With a small, hurt whimper, the pup quieted down again for a while longer. Man, this--pound?--was weird! It was a pound, right? Ralph began to doubt himself on whether or not his assumptions were true. He was pretty sure it was a pound..a gloomy one at that.

  • (You can add the employee in the next post, if you don't mind. uwu I may change up a few details, by the way, I sort of forgot about the movie/book plot! xD)

Mac continued to think about how to perfect the plan and he widened his eyes, realizing how they could escape the facility -- the furnace! He remembered a few employees talking about how they had upgraded it, making it easier for them to burn the bodies of the deceased animals in the facility. He knew that there had to be a way for them to be able to escape through there, considering that the furnace would have to have some sort of ventilation in order to let the gas and stench out of the room, and the building itself. He turned around, keeping his voice low as he whispered the directions and plans to both Riley and Molly, who listened to the labrador-chow mix intently.

"Oh, oh, I know where that is!" Molly whispered, her tail thumping against the floor because she felt like she was intelligent at the moment. She saw Mac nod his broad head, "Just head there after you unlock the rest of the cages, ok? Riley, you meet us there afterwards as well, just slide through the opening that leads inside the actual furnace and then follow the rest of us as quickly as possible!"

Riley nodded his head, understanding the plan perfectly now. His doubts began to shrink and he sighed in relief, twitching his floppy ears a bit. "I'll just run in a large circle I suppose," he muttered, glancing around at the other dogs silently since the rest of them were being so quiet...which was unusual, very unusual. Mac cleared his throat, which got Riley's attention at once, "The whitecoats should be in here soon...it's almost feeding time, I believe so anyway..."

  • ((alright!!))

Dipper's head suddenly shot up as he heard a click of a door. In came a man with a long white coat, carrying a box that rattled whenever it shook. Something was in there. Dipper suddenly grew nervous and trembly as he realized this whitecoat was probably here to take one or a few dogs to take for experimentation. In the back, Ralph was howling about "everyone getting adopted." When would he learn the truth?

Dipper's anxiety suddenly eased as the man reached into the first cage with the box, only to shake food out of it into the bowls, and he continued on down the line until he had already filled Dipper's and Ralph's bowl. Oh. It was only feeding time..alright. Dipper watched as Ralph walked up to the bowl and sniffed, giving a soft snort of disgust. He then averted his attention back to the man, watching as he continued heading down the line of cages.

  • Riley got up and trotted towards the cage door anxiously, pretending as if he was excited for the food that the man was giving out. He barked softly as the man unlocked their cage, bending down to grab the food bowl that Molly had "innocently" shoved into the corner of it. Riley glanced back at Mac, gave a quick nod, and then shot out of the cage, ignoring the man as he cursed and called after him angrily. His eyes settled on the door that the man had just came out of, slipping his thin frame through the opening once he got to it. He looked around frantically, sprinting down the hallway swiftly as he heard footsteps and shouting from behind him.

Mac widened his eyes, surprised that the plan was actually working! He quickly stepped out of the cage, which caused the other dogs to get even more riled up because they must've known there was a possibility of them getting out of facility. He turned back and noticed that Molly was already unlocking cages with her nose and directing the freed dogs towards where the furnace room was. He unlocked the remaining cages himself, flicking the latch up with his own nose.

Molly unlocked Ralph and Dipper's cage, which was the last one to unlock on her side of the room. She knew that Riley was probably making his way around the facility now, so she quickly led them towards the furnace room. The border collie sighed deeply when she realized they would have to go through another room in order to even get to the furnace area. She crouched down, quickly heading through the extra room since she didn't know if other researchers would be in there -- that was always a possibility. She quickly pushed the door open with her nose and then her body, since it was one of those kitchen-like doors. She saw the furnace and she realized that Mac had already directed most of the dogs towards it without her.

  • Dipper watched with wide eyes as this whole plan took place. How? It all happened so quick..it was too good to be true! Dipper quickly followed after the female who had helped him and Ralph with their cage, instructing Ralph to follow him. The pup quickly followed the female, pushing through the door.
"W-Wait!" Dipper shouted urgently as he caught up with Molly. He wanted to express his gratitude. "Thank you! But..What's going to happen next?"
There was really no time for chitchat. If they wasted time, they would all be caught. Whether he got an answer or not, he supposed he and Ralph would follow Molly.

  • Molly didn't have time to answer, she merely helped the two young ones up into the opening that led into the actual furnace. She heard a low squeal as Mac and a few other dogs broke open the opening that let the gases out into the air. She finally crawled into the furnace once Ralph and Dipper got into it, too, "I hope Riley is alright...!"

As if on cue, Riley climbed up into the opening and slid inside of the furnace quickly. He was panting, and covered in all sorts of substances since he sprinted through so many carts of junk in the hallway so the man would have a harder time catching up to him as he ran. The mutt's eyes sparkled when he saw the opening that led outside, and he couldn't help it when he peeked out and saw the dogs that were already free, all of them running away from the facility whilst howling crazily. He chuckled as he slid out of the opening himself, jumping up a little when his paws landed against the dry grass since he was only used to the feeling of concrete against the four of them.

Mac was already outside, standing next to the building as he made sure no whitecoats were checking the perimeter at that moment. "Come on, hurry...!" His gruff voice was low since the other dogs were long gone so their howls could no longer be heard, which caused the atmosphere to be uneasily silent and slightly awkward. He saw Ralph and Dipper slide out of the furnace, Molly sliding out right after them with a happy expression lighting up her features. The labrador-chow mix didn't wait another second, he turned and quickly padded away from the facility, wanting to be far enough away in case the researchers checked outside anytime soon.

Molly and Riley trotted after them, Molly subtly hanging back so that Dipper and Ralph could follow them easily. She didn't know if the two of them were planning on separating from each other, or if they were planning on separating from Mac, Riley, and herself included.

  • Dipper hurried out of the furnace, able to slip through with ease. He stopped for a moment, panting. Everything was so overwhelming! The poor pup felt so dizzy. He didn't let his upcoming anxiety attack overtake him, though, as he sped alongside the group, keeping up with them as much as he could.

Ralph was happy the whole time, barking, not tired a single bit as he bolted to join the group. He bounced around, jumping everywhere, and suddenly his voice started up. "Why didn't we stay? We could've gotten adopted! Now we have to fend for ourselves! Anyways, where are we going? What're we to do?"

  • Molly was the only one in the group that was actually paying attention to the two younger ones. She chuckled at how excited Ralph was, it was a nice change to see someone so enthusiastic. However, the collie couldn't help but frown when he began asking question after question, "Well, dear, that wasn't an adoption place...that was a researching facility, so we wouldn't of gotten adopted... And I suppose we'll go wherever the wind takes us!"

  • Ralph let out a quiet sound of acknowledgement and understanding. He still didn't completely understand, but that was alright, he supposed! Now it was time to have fun! However, his stomach said otherwise as it let out a growl. He didn't have enough time to eat when they were fed back in the facility...when was the last time he had eaten? "I'm hungry!" he whined like a newborn puppy.

Dipper only glanced at Ralph as the two followed behind the three older dogs. At least he wasn't talking abkut getting adopted anymore, the positive talk had been bringing him hope that shouldn't even exist. Maybe they did have hope now, though? They were out of the facility...maybe things would go smoothly.

  • Molly wondered where the other dogs had ran off to. Part of her wondered if any of them were captured and taken back to the facility. She let out a soft whine as more and more of these thoughts appeared in her mind. She felt almost guilty for successfully escaping.

Mac heard Molly's whine and slowed down quite a bit, they were far away from the facility anyway. "What's wrong, Molly?"

Molly looked up, her ears lowered, "Oh...it's nothing..."

  • ((hey! when do you get out of school??? tomorrows my last day B3 ))

Ralph looked at Molly curiously. Something was wrong, whether she wanted to admit it or not. "There's gotta be something bothering you!" the pup insisted, looking at the female. "What's wrong..?" He didn't want to push too hard. It was her choice to keep things to herself, but he figured maybe talking would help.
