Melenda nodded in agreement, another big smile appearing on her face."Do you want to feel?"she asked, motioning to her stomach with her left hand.He didn't have to if he didn't want to, but she figured he might want to feel her stomach.
"Sure." Liam said with a nod. He move a touch closer to Mel as he felt the tiny kicks Mel was talking about. He moved his hand and pulled Mel into a quick kiss "That's amazing." he said with a soft smile.
A small smile appeared on Melenda's face when he took up her offer to feel her stomach.She moved one of her hands out of the way and put it at her side.Another smile appeared on her face when he pulled her into a kiss.She the nodded her heads at his words, about how amazing everything was."Yes it is."she agreed with him.She really was happy right now and just wanted to sit here like this forever.
Liam put his arm around Mel and leaned back on the couch a little "We need to chill out like this more often." he said. Somedays, Liam just wished that the could just be normal for a bit. Not leave the house and realax. The still could kinda but, it's a bit differnt.
"Yes.I agree.We really should."Melenda replied to his statement.She leaned into him a bit when he put an arm around her.She was very content right now and she was suddenly starting to feel tired.She wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she fell asleep right there on the couch.A loud yawn escaped from her lips and her eyes dropped a bit, like she might fall asleep.And just as she was about to drift off...... Something pounced on Melenda's stomach!This caused her eyes to shoot back open."Oh!What was that?"she mostly asked herself.Well there went that nap.It looked like she wouldn't be getting any sleep now.
As it turned out, the thing that had pounced on Melenda's stomach was Piper, the cat.The black feline let out a meow and looked up at her favorite human.The cat appeared to be a bit cautious though and kept looking down at her human's growing stomach.She was a bit scared of it, because every so often something inside it would move and freak her out.This didn't used to happen to the human before, which worried her a bit.Plus, the cat noticed, it was getting bigger, which made her wonder what was going on.
Liam laughed lightly at Piper's face. She looked a bit confused "Silly cat." he said as he ran his hand down the black kitty's head onto her back "Looks like somebody knows something is happening." he joked as he watched Piper standing on Mel.
"Oh, Piper, you really need to stop doing that."Melenda spoke softly to the cat, upon realizing that it was her who had jumped up on her.Thank goodness it was just the cat.She nodded a bit at Liam's words.Though she knew he was joking, she actually agreed with his joking around."I know she knows.I honestly think she's a bit scared of my belly now.Because if she's sleeping on my stomach and the baby starts to move, she freaks out.She'll jump up startled, hiss, and then run off and hide out somewhere for at least twenty minutes."she said.This was true too, that happened all the time.
Piper purred at Liam's petting, finding it comforting and a bit soothing.She moved around a bit on Melenda's stomach until she got comfortable and then laid down on top of her to take a nap.
"I'm sure she'll calm down when the baby gets here." Liam said as he pet the sleeping cat "Once she knows what it is she'll relax." he added resting his hand near Piper.
"I hope your right, because I love the both of them very much and I don't know what I'd do if Piper didn't like our baby.I know how she is with people.We're the only ones she's really comfortable with and everyone else she just shies away from."Melenda said.She was very worried about her cat and the baby.Her cat wasn't very social with other humans except for the ones that were in this very room.She tended to be okay when her dad, grams, and Gena came around the house.Usually when they were over she would be fine in the same room as them and sometimes she'd let them pet her, but that was about it.Sometimes she was fine if they only had one or two guests, but any more and the cat would hide.She had never really been socialized much with children either.Sometimes when her boss came over with his son, the boy would try to play with the cat, but Piper would always run and hide from him.The boy, who was only eleven, knew how to treat animals and was very gentle with them, but for some reason Piper didn't want anything to do with him.
"Well if Piper likes you and Piper likes me. Good thing out baby is both of us." Liam joked before changing his tone to a touch more serious "I'm sure she'll like the baby. Maybe not straight away but she'll warm up." he said "She's a nice cat. It'll work out."
Melenda laughed a bit at his joking tone, even if it wasn't really all that funny."Okay."she said.She still wasn't all that certain about the subject, but figured she would just agree with him anyway.She reached down and started to pet the sleeping feline that was laying on her belly.
Liam pet the sleeping feline, glad she was calm now and not running around the house "If you ask me looks like Piper is already getting herself acquainted with the baby." Liam said as he joked about Piper sleeping soundly on Mel's stomach.
Melenda giggled a bit at Liam's joking manner, another smile appearing on her face.She didn't respond though, not knowing exactly how to respond to that.Another yawn escaped from her lips.She was still a bit tired and though the cat had woken her up from her almost nap a few minutes ago, she was still a bit tired.
Liam looked over at Mel, she looked tired "Why don't you go to sleep." he said "You look tired." he added. Liam felt a bit bad for Mel, she seemed to always be busy, at home or work or somewhere. Some days he wished she could catch a brake.
"Okay, but I'm not leaving this couch.Because 1) the cat sleeping on me and I don't want to wake her and 2) I don't feel like getting up."Melenda replied tiredly.She would just sleep here on the couch, because she didn't want to disturb her feline or try to get up.She was just tired and wanted to sleep right here.
"That's fine. I didn't say you had to move." Liam said "I just want you to catch some sleep." Liam said "You deserve it. You're always busy." he added on.
"I know.I just wanted to let you know that."Melenda replied.She closed her eyes."Yeah, I know.They still haven't fond a replacement for me yet, but Josh is thinking of asking Kevin, another Technical Analyst on our floor, to step in for me.If he did that he'd have to both his job and mine though, so I don't know if he'll agree to it."she spoke, sounding tired.Though she wasn't asleep yet and only had her eyes closed, she was still tired and may end up nodding off soon.
Liam nodded "Hopefully they'll find someone soon." he said a bit quiet as Mel looked to be falling asleep. Liam was a bit worried that they hadn't found anyone to replace Mel at her job yet. Hopefully they would soon.
Melenda nodded her head slightly at his words.She was already half asleep though, so she had been barely paying attention.Now she was sound asleep, with her head resting on Liam's shoulder as she slept.Her head was already filled with dreams, most of them being happy ones.A few scary dreams did make their way into her head though.
