He couldn't see his new territory.

Even though he spent most of his life blind, he still had moments all the time where he wished he could see. He wished he could see how beautiful things were. Besides, blindness gave way to new fears. Deep water and barking dogs. No thank you. Fire didn't count, that was everyone's fear. But he was much more vulnerable.

Sitting by himself while just listening to things, Watershipdown curled his tail around his paws. Peaceful.

the newly appointed medicine cat was wandering the territory, looking for herbs to collect and seeds to plant in her garden. she paused when she spotted watershipdown, and waved her tail. when mala received no response from the male, she padded closer and waved again. oh, this wouldn't do, he was probably blind. or so she hoped; it would hurt if he wasn't and all he was doing was ignoring her. getting close enough, mala gently prodded watership's chest. who was he, anyways? she hadn't seen him around before.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=Transparent; border: 0px; width: 400px; margin-center: -5px; text-align: justify;]☆— [size=10px]He heard the medicine cat after a few steps she made, turning his blank eyes to her. He would've greeted her as well, but then she poked him in the chest. Oh. He must've been spacing out. How rude of him. "Hm?"

Why did she not say anything? Naturally, he couldn't see her, but didn't most people greet each other with words? Was there a reason she could not? Now, the fact that she was mute put him at a serious disadvantage. He didn't have any powers, which meant no telepathy. Oh, dear.

yup he was blind. well, this was going to be harder than she had thought. could he real braille? mala might as well try it out. scratching out a quick message, she put the note-card on the ground and moved his paw to lay over it. 'hey, i'm malaika. mute, though. i'm still practicing my braille, so i apologize if you can't understand something.'
