Dusk was approaching, the sun sinking below the horizon, sending warm rays of light to shadow the town. Kaden was trying to savour what was left of the light - he enjoyed the sun, especially the warmth of it. Though he bore a thick coat of fur he still got cold easily. He was sitting close to the water, chocolate eyes fixed on the last remnants of the sun.

Since the sun was going down, Afterkit had just gotten back to town from one of his little explorations. He was adventurous, yes, but not so much that he'd risk spending a night away from town. He'd leave that for when he was sure that he could navigate in the dark, perhaps when he was an apprentice.

Even if he wanted to be in town, that did not necessarily mean he wanted to go to sleep. It was the opposite, actually. The kitten was still practically vibrating with his nearly constant energy. Unless his dad came out to get him (which he rarely, if ever did), he wouldn't be going to bed until he was nearly passed out on one of the sidewalks. So, he was delighted when his mismatched eyes caught sight of Kaden. Maybe he'd have some company! For a little while, at least.

The fluffy cream kitten came bouncing towards Kaden, a huge smile crossing his maw. "Hi, hi, hi!" Afterkit greeted, plopping down besides him. "Whatcha doing?"

Kaden hadn't been doing much; it wasn't as if he had a curfew, and no one would really care how late he stayed up. Maybe Andrew would, but his twin couldn't control him. In fact, if he did, Kaden would probably just retaliate even harder, maybe pull an all nighter - which was certainly not a good idea. So when he saw Afterkit, he was happy to know he had company, at least until it got dark and his eyelids were heavy with sleep.

"Hey there..." He was sure he knew this kitten from somewhere. He must've heard a name in one of the meet and greet's - Kaden, surprisingly, had a good memory. "A...Afterkit." He finally settled on, hoping he was right. "Kaden, if you don't remember." He smiled cheerfully. "I'm not doing anything. What are you doing?"
