  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify]The eerie stillness of this icey world sent a chill up his spine. It was both peaceful and creepy, but Kaden was determined to get to know it a little better. He'd been passed it only once when looping around the territory, but besides that, he had never really been here, afraid he'd get lost in the tunnels or slip in a hole and break his foot. Not to mention that the air was sharp and cold here, and being an asthmatic made it ten times harder for him to breathe.

But, he was determined, so with his breath billowing out in front of him, he ventured forward. He was using all his concentration to not slip on the ice, and since he wasn't a cat, he couldn't really dig his claws in. Not to mention ice was so cold and he had bare pads and was about ready to bolt out of this freezing godforsaken place.

Breath pale against the numbing air, he blinked thoughtfully as the frost patiently kissed his face, captivated by the soft, dusty illusions of light that sat heavy on his eyelashes. Mindy then let out an involuntary shiver as the sudden climate change boned up his entire being, settling crisply into his soul.

The lion had come out here to write a poem about snow. However, the only thing he could think of was how he'd be fretting over getting the stuff into his new house.
With all that slush and mush being tracked into his beautiful wooden floors, he would weep!

Unlike Kaden, Mindpaw hadn't thought of having trouble with the ice. Bet he wished he had when his large paws slipped from out beneath him, and he yelped in surprise as he hit the frosty ground below.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify]The yelp was what Kaden's attention to the male, and his hazel oculars swept across the icy wonderland towards him. He slithered forward ungracefully, almost falling over. "Are you alright there?" he called as loudly as his frozen throat would allow. His attempts to reach Mindpaw weren't working all too well, but he was trying.

This is why he hated ice. Water was a whole different thing. He loved water. But ice... nope. He'd rather not. Kaden had no idea if Mindpaw was injured, so the clumsy german shepherd slid towards him, managing to reach him within a matter of seconds. "It's really slippery," he said, stating the obvious.

Mindy was just getting to his paws when a voice called out to him over the ice.

    Are you alright.
Was he? Other than a stinging sensation traveling along his left side, he was okey. Yeah, he'll probably have a few aches here and there, but it wouldn't hurt as much as his arthritis did. So, with snow lingering in his eyes, he would blindly incline his head, wiping the remains of white powder with a single paw.

Seeing that he was not the only one having trouble, the lion would take a single step forward, to answer his question with a calming grace of tranquility,
"Yes. I found out for myself."

He would state, leaning against the dog to avoid any further situations similar to this. Although the lion failed to recall ever laying eyes on this canine, he knew that he was a clan mate by scent, so he gave a name,
    "I'm Mindpaw."
