  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify]Kaden had had a long morning walk. After getting up before the sun had even risen, he'd decided to scout the edges of the place, get to know it all better. But he was a severe asthmatic and the walk had been more than tiring. Now he was back at the camp. Everyone had begun to rise, and the warm sun had washed over the streets. So Kaden, as he was still house-less, lay down in the middle of the street, feeling the warmth of the sun wash over him, and the aches in his muscles slowly ebb away.

Instead, he simply.. Took strolls, throughout all hours of the day and night. Strolls, patrols, and the like.. Through doing this, he was able to stumble across quite a few individuals, at many points in the day: therefore, resulting him in halting, upon spotting Kaden nearby. He'd pause for a few moments, before heading over, pronouncing a jovial greeting, coupled with a friendly grin. "Morning, Kaden!" He'd hum, drawing to a stop by the other individual. "You look as if you've been up for a while."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify]Kaden's ears instantly pricked as he heard Nighttales, but he make any motion to move until he heard the lieutenant commander speak. He lifted his head, tiredly blinking at the serval. "Remind me never to again," Kaden wheezed breathlessly. He lay his head back and paused for a moment before raising himself to all fours, to sit back on his haunches again. [b]"What time is it?" He wrinkled his nose, glancing back at the sky.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=none; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; width: 370px;font-size:8pt;line-height: 130%;][justify]Night resounded with a slight chuckle. "You look a little tired out." He paused, as the other asked him for the time, and had to contemplate on it for a few moments. He didn't quite keep track of the time, seeing as he didn't quite need to, unless there was some sort of timed event going on. "I'd say seven or eight." The male would make a narrow guess, based upon the fact that everyone was actually awakening, by this point. However, something that had caught his attention, were the seemingly exaggerated wheezes coming from Kaden. He paused, for a few moments, before asking. "Are you okay? You sound.. really tired out." And not just, normally, too.. It was almost as if he had some sort of heart, or lung condition.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify]If he were a human, an asthma pump might have been handy. Unfortunately, asthma pumps weren't designed for dogs - that he knew of, anyway - and was usually treated with medication; something that only humans had. "Oh, so not too late." Kaden said after a moments pause. He squinted at the sky. He still had all day, and he'd already walked around the edge of the territory. He was about ready to go right back to sleep. "Yeah," Kaden said, grinning halfheartedly at Nighttales. "Asthma." He explained, wondering if the lieutenant-commander would know about it. Probably, but he only found out about it a couple months back; some herby-guy had diagnosed it in him, and if it wasn't for him, then Kaden would have never found out. "Really regretting jogging at the end of that walk," he added, coughing to back up his statement.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=none; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; width: 370px;font-size:8pt;line-height: 130%;][justify]Asthma? Night was well aware of what it was, in truth, but he hadn't known that Kaden had been diagnosed with it. Though then again, that was expected, since they didn't know all too much about eachother. It wasn't all too lethal for humans, with medication. But for themselves.. "Geeze, don't push yourself then." The male shook his head slightly, fictional brows knitting. "Although, it's not like you're a kid, I can't tell you what to and not to do." He was just the other's higher-up, and sure, he was able to boss people around when it came to official business, but he wasn't going to abuse that power to impose on someone's personal health, unless it was truly life threatening - that was a medic's job. "Still, take care of yourself, m'kay? I don't have asthma, but I get the impression that it's hell for people like us."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;][justify]Kaden grinned slightly as Nighttales talked. "I like... sporty things." He explained, his voice a little quieter. He was feeling a lot better by now, and rolled his shoulders to loosen his muscles. It would have been nice to like something that wasn't so detrimental; acting, painting, maybe even cooking. Unfortunately, all those things bored him to death. "I'll try." He promised, twitching his ear. Maybe if he found another body, one that wasn't sick. Albeit, he had no idea about powers, nor did he have shape-shifting or multiple possessions. Blinking at the lieutenant commander, Kaden asked, "so, what are you doing up so early?"

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=none; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; width: 370px;font-size:8pt;line-height: 130%;][justify]"An asthmatic who likes sports, huh?" Night would hum, in slight contemplation. That was.. beyond unfortunate, really. It seemed as if Kaden truly wasn't the lucky type, and whilst it wasn't the end of the world, or anything.. It was still kinda ironic.. It was so ironic, that it was somewhat saddening to hear. "Well, that isn't to say that things can't work out, somehow." Shifting bodies, and the like, that was somewhat natural, nowadays. Though, he wasn't sure as to whether Kaden could control, or even had that ability - Night wouldn't be surprised if it came to him, someday.

As the other asked of why he still happened to be up, he paused, blinking for a few moments, before summing up a quick response. "I'm always up, really." He'd offer a slight shrug, though his grin hadn't quite dissolved. Maybe he just.. didn't get tired, as often, or had lost the ability to settle down and succumb to the state of unconsciousness that was sleep. He.. He 'slept', sometimes.. When Demios acted up.. But, that was a tale set for another day.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; letter-spacing: 1px;][justify][size=8]"Yeah," he puffed, eyes flickering to the ground. It was ironic, really. Both ironic and maddening, because things like athletics were meant to be easy for to-be big dogs such as german shepherds. He tilted his head slightly as Nighttales suggested things might work out. "Maybe." He agreed with a slight nod, but he doubted it. Powers had never been something he'd managed to wrap his head around - maybe, someday, he would. But for the moment he didn't think it would happen. "Well, I hope so." And he did.

He was always up. What did that mean? Kaden wasn't quite smart enough to connect the dots, but it did seem as if the lieutenant-commander didn't get much sleep. Now he thought of it, every early morning Kaden had been up, Nighttales had been up too. Instead, he frowned a little and said, "what was the last dream you had?" He wasn't quite sure why he asked. He was curious, he supposed.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=none; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; width: 370px;font-size:8pt;line-height: 130%;][justify]Hope was a good thing. It wasn't always a solid basis, and it seemed as if the odds were stacked up against Kaden. But, hope was.. important. It kept someone going, whether it was a realistic dream or not.

Speaking of dreams. Night blinked, surprise traversing his features for a few moments, at the question. It took a few moments for it to sink in, but once it had, his chin tucked towards his chest, and his mismatched orbs planted themselves elsewhere, whilst an unreadable, and possibly contemplative, expression formed his complexion. "I.." He paused, shaking his head, and regathering his thoughts for a few moments. He'd offer a slight smile, though it seemed somewhat vacant of any particular euphoria. "I haven't had a dream in a long time."

He bit down on his tongue, glancing at Kaden, and realising the heaviness of what he had said. "Oh no, that sounded much more meaningful than I had meant it to be." Really, he was just trying to cover up the fact. "I haven't slept in quite a while, so that's why." When he would sleep, it wasn't dreams that would haunt his subconscious. It'd be.. memories, really. That was all.
