    Indeed, the room was like a labyrinth. All on it's own, it shifted from an empty white room to a vast, black desert. An unnatural crescent moon hung in the obsidian sky, and the black and blueish sand seemed to shift at random. Quite the strange room, this one, with its change-y-ness.

    Shinzo would get up, wincing at the darkness. There was hardly any light. How was he to use shadows now? He would have to make do with what little light he had. He would wade through the shifting sand.

    A small, hollow-esque critter crossed Shinzou's path, looking at him for a moment before continuing. it was almost like it was running from something...
    And it was. Not far behind, something was moving through the sand, guiding the small hollow towards a large sand dune.

    Once the hollow critter was in the shadow of the sand dune, the chaser stopped. of all things, though, the sand dune itself collapsed on itself, then shook. Something rose from the dune, shaking the sand off before throwing its prey in the air, swallowing it whole before looking at Shinzou.
    It appeared to be a ginormous snake, with a mostly silvery white body and some colored stripes. However, after a moment, the snake hissed loudly, opening a cobra-like hood with unique eye markings on it.

    Jumping back, the black-haired boy would take out a kunai. Urgh. He watched as the light glistened off the silvery scales. It was huge. Too huge. By blocking his face, he managed to get some of the sand away.

    Both of the huge snake's fangs were visible, one was dripping some kind of fluid. It stretched up, the rest of its body now uncovered, and quite literally shrieked at Shinzou. It may have been a warning, it may have been an intimidation tactic. No matter-- it was still mind-blowingly loud.

    He would stagger, covering his ears when he heard the shriek. Agh. That didn't sound good. He held tightly onto the kunai. It was trying to scare him off, was it? Well, he would try to throw the kunai at it.

    The snake lowered its head, glaring harshly at Shinzou. Then, and only then, were the hot pink markings and green eyes noticeable-- Serpente's signature appearance. It seemed ready to spit venom at him, though it really wasn't capable of such a feat at close range.

    Indeed, that was Serpente. A monstrous, gargantuan snake. She reeled back, curling as she did in hopes that the hit could be deflected or dodged. Instead, the kunai became lodged between her scales, bringing another bloodcurdling shriek. She lashed her tail, forming a small whirlwind with sand which disappeared immediately before hissing loudly at Shinzou.

    Shinzou would frown, shaking at the loud, pained shriek. He couldn't stand to see her so... In pain. He kept a grip though and looked up with cold and stoic eyes, "I am doing what's best for you."

    The massive snake collapsed to the sand all of a sudden, now giving a softer, almost human-like wailing noise every so often. This was paired with, of course, the occasional hiss and attempt to bite. Very clearly, despite being in obvious pain, the snake did retain Serpente's stubbornness, only manifested in the form of refusing to fall at that moment.

    He got bit a couple times. That's when he gave some, "Ow! That hurts more than you know!" With eyes narrowed, he would try to use what little shadows he could gather. They came out like tentacles and attempted to wrap around the snake.
