edit: jeez 550 words for a measly human au cx

Miles huffed, sitting back in his seat as he peered at the computer screen. He had been working all morning and it was certainly hungry. He leant forwards, reaching for the mouse and saving everything he had been doing. It would be a real pain if it didn't save and he had to do all of that again. He closed down the windows and logged out, once again leaning back into his chair and looking up at the ceiling. He felt his stomach rumble and let out a little groan, swinging around in his chair to look at the clock. 12:34. He felt a small smile form as he gazed at the clock. "Thank * for that, I'm so hungry" he muttered to himself, turning back around to face his desk and pushing away from it. He got to his feet, running a hand through his hair as he tucked the chair in.

It was that amazing time of the day where he had a lunch break and could go grab something to eat. With that thought in mind, a smile formed on his lips. He had noticed how much he had been smiling recently. It was strange, ever since he started talking to them it had made him happier. Well, you could say that smiles go for miles.

He turned and walked to the door, exiting the office with a wave in farewell to Kerry who had paused what he was doing to say bye. The brunette let out a light huff of amusement as his co-worker shouted 'bye Miles' after him and was flailing his arms wildly in a goodbye wave. Miles glanced back, sticking his tongue out at him before quickly shutting the door with a laugh. He wasn't sure where he was going to eat. Maybe he'd just find a little cafe or something simple. Then again, he was sure that there was a taco bell around somewhere. No, maybe the first option was the best.

Miles put his hands into his pockets, turning the corner with a sigh. They were still lingering in his mind and he was sure that they wouldn't get out any time soon. He just had to ensure that they didn't interfere with his work but he wasn't sure how easy that would be. He glanced up from the pavement, spotting a little cafe on the corner on the street. Great, he could go in, grab something to eat and maybe a coffee and be on his way. So he made a beeline for that establishment, already thinking of what delicious food he would decide to buy.

He pushed the door open, the smell of coffee and cooking bacon instantly drawing him in. He was glad that he hadn't just settled for a fast food place. This place was rich in delicious smells and it was so cosy. There were fairy lights hung up around the place and each table was decorated with a vase of tulips. It was very aesthetically pleasing and a feast for the eyes, that was for sure. He weaved his way through some tables to reach the counter, waiting behind a few people. He turned his gaze up to the menu, drinking in all of the different options he had with a sparkle in his eyes.

He worked here. He was new to the job but the place was pretty and he found it a fitting place to work. The flowers that decorated the cozy room were his favorite. Dealing with the customers was not.

The boy had purple and pink hair and he wore a dark black apron and a ruffled dark colored skirt- the outfit of the waitresses that worked here. He narrowed his dark pink eyes at the brunette surveying the shop and the menu. He looked unexcited and a little bored. He spoke up in an indifferent voice. "Soo, are you gonna order or just stare?" The kids attitude was unfit for the setting. It was not alike to soft lights or sweet smells of the cáfe, but maybe it would pull Miles out of his thoughts.

[fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px solid white; width: 450px; text-align: justify; height: auto; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 130%; margin-top: -8px][hr]The male's tone certainly did bring Miles out of his daze. The brunette turned his attention to the guy behind the counter with an awkward little chuckle. He hadn't realised that the person in front of him had gotten their order and left. He stopped himself from looking around, feeling at least two pairs on eyes on him. Now he was glad that he hadn't allowed Kerry to tag along cause he was sure that the other male would have mocked him for this moment. He rubbed the back of his neck, stepping closer to the counter. He let out a nervous little chuckle, giving the guy behind the counter a apologetic, polite smile. "Right, right. Sorry, I was distracted. It's really nice in here" he said, briefly glancing up at the menu once more to confirm what he wanted before focusing back onto the male. "Could I get a bacon sandwich and a caramel latte please." Miles said, reaching into his pocket to fish around for his wallet as he spoke. He took note of the male's attire with a small smile. His hair was cool and the fact that he was dressed in a waitress' outfit was even cooler. It showed that this guy wasn't afraid to wear whatever. He himself couldn't comment on it seeing he had been made to wear a Ruby costume which was a dress- no, it wasn't a dress. It was as he put it a 'combat skirt'. As this thought went around in his mind, he retrieved his wallet and opened it, taking the money out and tilting his head to the side slightly as he counted.

Vince probably should have done the same as Miles had just done.. As in.. Ordered food. However, the boy was still sat some distance away, debating the server's haircolour, and uh.. Why. It wasn't as if it looked bad or anything, but it was certainly different from the usual.. And he had thought that his blonde hair was somewhat unusual from where he had come from. Asia wasn't a place where you happened to see many blonde-haired individuals, unless they were rebellious, or an anime character. "Maybe he's just punk rock.." He'd murmur, absentmindedly, before releasing a blissful sigh upon his conclusion, and getting up and out of his seat - supposing that it'd be best for him to order sometime soon.

Shuhrat often found it hard to relax, especially in social situations. To say that the military had scarred him for life (both physically and mentally, he was a very lucky man) would be the understatement of the century. Pulling his hood down from where it had been slumped over his head, he glanced over towards the line and decided he might wait until it had no customers in queue, if that ever happened, ever.

for now, however, he'd spare everybody the effort of having to decipher his accent word-for-word. it was like that sometimes.

  • Carissa was sitting on a cushioned window perch, just watching everyone enter and leave. She didn't order anything to eat or drink, she wasn't reading, and she wasn't listening to music. She was just present, like always. Carissa lived on her own, but distant family members, who somehow were her guardians, kept telling her to get out and get social. She was stir crazy, yes, but she refused to admit it. To avoid arguing with them, because she always lost those fights, she just left the house. She waits for people to approach her, even though she doesn't want that to happen. She was wearing her "winged" eye appearance today with a black-and-white shirt, dark blue jeans, tan Timbaland boots, and a gold owl chain. Her long, naturally straight hair was just hanging down, covering her arms.

He didn't bother saying anything in response to the customers apology. It was nice in here but he didn't often find customers in awe or anything. This guy must have had something else on his mind.

"That will be twenty-five dollars," the boy sighed and held out his hand.

Skye was walking with his hands in the pockets of his tan cargo shorts, green eyes sifting through the crowd in a rather aloof manner. His eyebrows were playfully quirked and his demeanor was open and outrageously relaxed as he stepped down the pedway. A cigarette lay clasped at one side of his mouth as his gaze suddenly fixated on his destination. It was a quaint, comfortable café that he'd had the chance to visit more than once.

So, he stepped up to the door and threw it open with an arm and walked right inside. He was about to take a place in line as a girl standing near to a window caught his eye. Now, Skye wasn't necessarily an instigator for anything, but he was a watchful fellow and a playful one at that. He ripped the ciggy from his mouth and dashed it out as he sighed smoke like some sort of fire-breather. The twentysomehting still stood, having taken in the scene in the building quite quickly. "Hey there," he said in the direction of Carissa in a tone that suggested they'd met before when really that had not,"Are you waiting on someone to join ya? Or do you just like watch'in?" He tossed the cigarette he was holding to the darkness of a trashcan beside the door. Yeah, he'd never seen the girl here but he'd was going to speak to her anyway. No one else was so and there may have been a reason for it, but he was slow to take hints awayway. So his green eyes remained kindly settled on the girl he was probably bothering.

  • Carissa's green eyes had already quickly settled on the older male when he walked in, mostly looking disgusted with his smoking. She despised smoking and alcohol drinking; both were so unattractive. Getting to his question, she didn't know how to answer. She just wanted to watch, but at the same time, company could be nice. "I'll just chill by myself here, and I am just watching," Carissa answered, turning her winged green eyes to the window. Her voice was a little immature for her face and age . It sounded like a mix of Riley from Inside Out's voice and Violet from The Incredibles' voice, which basically meant she talked like Violet but her voice was soft and high like Riley's. If that made sense.
