• [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=transparent; width: 425px;]⚔ ⚔ ⚔-- Now that she was finally over whatever illness had been plaguing her, the wolf had decided to head back out and continue her training. For though she was already a decent swordsman, she was nowhere near the level of skill it would take for her to once again be worthy enough to wield the mighty Falchion. If she could fine it. There was no doubt in her mind that if she and her fellow comrades had made their way to this world, then the sword of legend had to have come by as well. It was likely in some remote area, just waiting for her to come by and wield its glory. But that would take time, and her body was still too youthful to make such a trek.

Being an older soul in a young body was a rough life. Since regaining her memories, Lucina had wisened up in maturity as well, considering she could remember every single event of her previous life. Time-traveling. Fighting side-by-side with her own father. Dying. That last bit was the rough part. After all, how terrible would it be to be able to remember dying.

As she remembered her fight with Grima, the final struggle, her swings and slashes became slightly more reckless and wild. Her anger and sadness blinding her, the wolf eventually stumbled and sat down, frustrated. How terrible would it be to remember every moment of your past life; your family, your friends, your lover, and then continually realize that it would be impossible to see them again.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 375px;]Atoningpaw, on the other hand, was far from becoming a 'decent' swordsman. His mother had once tried to teach him how to wield a sword, though he had quickly given up on it within seconds. He wasn't into using blades or lances and preferred using elemental powers. In his opinion, attacking from a distance was much safer. It increased the likelihood of getting less injuries too. He didn't see why creatures like Lucina would have wanted to use a weapon like a sword. Sure it was strong and all, but didn't it just get in the way? He didn't like the weight of the weapon, as it felt as if it were burdening you.

As for memories, the only things he could remember about the past were the tortures his step-parents had put him through. Before he had even stepped foot into the territory of the clans, Ato had been a civilian of Ikebukuro, Japan. His mother, Breakdance, had left him there to prevent him from coming into contact with the dangers of the real world. Though little had she known that she was only bringing her son closer to his peril. He probably would had died under the hands of his adopted parents, if it hadn't been for his mother rescuing him. She had been the first and last to witness the sight of the sadistic scientists nearly drowning him into a freezing river. To this day, he didn't know what to think of his mother. Although he still couldn't get himself to forgive her, she was still considered his savior. Unlike his sister, Lostboy, he knew nothing of his true origins. The blonde feline didn't know this, but he was actually the reincarnation of the prince of Nohr. It was a mystery as to how or why his past self had died, though he held the heart and soul of Leo.

Atoningpaw was currently near the area where Lucina was training, though little did he know this. He was nonchalantly leaning his back against an oak tree and was softly reciting some new spells. Those that knew him well, understood that Ato wasn't like most children. He didn't enjoy playing or joking around and would have rather stayed inside to read his books. The lanky tom didn't like being dependent on anyone and preferred to do things alone. He wasn't a social butterfly like his sister and lacked the ability to care about other people. His crisp, amber oculars narrowed when they caught sight of the vice-leader, Lucina. He may have not known her too well, yet he recalled his sibling being on friendly terms with her. Maybe this was his chance to get to know the she-wolf a bit? Atoningpaw hesitantly picked himself up and began to plod in the direction where Lucina was. "Hello...Miss Lucina," he softly muttered under his breath.

She knew of him, yes. She had been there when he was first come onto the territory. Other than that, however, the youngest Vice Leader had yet to really get to know the tomcat.

What Lucina did know was that this was one of Losty's brothers. Adopted, surely. Though Lucina could feel the premonition that this tomcat was not of this world, no he was like her. Like Losty. From a world far from their current one. Maybe he just didn't know it yet. "Oh, hello. Atoningpaw, right?" The wolf put her sword back in its scabbard, not planning on continuing her sparring against the various trees. This would be her break time. "Please, you don't have to be so formal with me. We're the same age almost."

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 375px;]His cool gaze met the vice-leader's for a brief second as if he were judging her. In some ways, the she-wolf seemed a bit similar to him. They were both serious and hard-working, yet Ato assumed that he was much colder than her. His sharp, honey-brown hues eyed the sheathed sword in curiosity. Were the marks on the oak trees caused by her weapon? If that were the case, then the blonde would have been slightly impressed by her skills. She was almost on par with his older brother. The amber eyed tom cleared his throat as he listened to the female. He almost wanted to sigh in relief at Lucina's reply. Thank goodness she hadn't addressed him as something stupid like Aton or Ato. For some reason, a few of clanmates seemed to enjoy calling him that, and it annoyed him to no end.

"Hmm...I see," he mused in response. Atoningpaw was a bit surprised to hear that he and the vice-deputy were in the same age group. In all honesty, he had thought that Lucina had been a lot older. She seemed way too mature and composed. "Lucina it is then," The young tom curtly nodded his head before he glanced at the ground. It was at this moment where the conversation began to come to a stop. He didn't really know what to say to the female as he knew nothing about her. As the awkward silence filled the air, he finally spoke. "Ah. Thank you for taking such good care of my sister. I owe it all to you and Tama for giving her the happiness I couldn't give to her."

Lucina titled her head as Atoningpaw thanked her for taking care of Losty? Had she...really done that much? Lucina had always been younger than Losty in every case, and so she only saw herself as a doting younger sister or a steadfast companion at best. Besides, she hadn't been there for Losty in every case, such as when Losty had lost Pyro. That had been a dark time for her fellow Vice-Leader, and the wolf was ashamed to say that she had done very little to help Losty in her time of grief. Though she supposed that, yes, she had indeed been of some help to Losty, as the two had quite naturally bonded over their backgrounds of being royalty from other worlds. Of course, it had taken Losty a lot longer than Lucina to regain her memories of that time.

"I...really it was nothing." She stumbled in her words, unsure how much credit to take, and whether she should take it at all. "I didn't do that much to be honest. I was as in the dark as Losty about who she was, who she had been. It's a miracle we were both able to regain our memories of our old homes."

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 375px;]Atoningpaw flicked an ear as he listed to the female's response. A faint smile formed over his lips as he spoke. "Don't be so modest. My sister tends to speak very fondly of you...You really mean a lot to her," The blonde feline raised his paw to rub the back of his neck before he returned her gaze. As he inspected the vice's visage, he noticed something peculiar about her. His honey-brown oculars slightly widened at the sight of her eye. Was there something in it? Perhaps the lupine had gotten some dust stuck to it? As he unconsciously padded closer to the she-wolf, he realized that it wasn't dust, but a branded mark. The strange mark almost looked like a teardrop of some sort.

After a few moments of looking, Atoningpaw soon came to his senses and gasped. Realizing his rude behavior, the lanky feline quickly jumped back as his cheeks lit up in embarrassment. "A-Ah...Sorry for staring," he hastily mumbled through his violet scarf as he turned his cranium to the side. "Your eye just intrigued me..." Ato awkwardly added while he hesitantly pointed a claw towards it.

As the flaxen-colored tom glared at the ground, his attention was brought back to the deputy once she began to speak. He rose an addled eyebrow at the female's remark. What was this about losing memories? And what did mean by 'old homes'? Surely his sister knew where she and her siblings had grown up together! They had lived in a large mansion as their father had been quite wealthy. Though little did the youth know that this was not true. Ato's memories were so muddled up that he didn't know of the kingdoms of Nohr and Hoshido. He didn't know that he was a prince. The male was ignorant when it came to his past. "If I may ask, what do you mean by 'regain'?"

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=transparent; width: 425px;]⚔ ⚔ ⚔-- Needless to say, Lucina was just as surprised at Atoningpaw's inquiry about her eye. Perhaps it was because, well, he was very very close to her and the wolf wasn't exactly sure how to respond to that. He was just staring at her intently, and she could feel the heat rising quickly to her face. Thankfully he corrected himself so the situation grew less awkward. "Oh! Yes. It's my mark of royalty. My father's was on his shoulder, but mine is within my eye; on the pupil to be exact. It's...really the one thing I have that directly reminds me of home."

But what did she mean by regain? Well, it was rather obvious wasn't it?

"I...I suppose you could say I am a reincarnation, or at least my soul is. I used to live in a world far different from this one, as did Losty. We were humans, royalty, fighting battles to right the wrongs of our worlds and keep peace. I...I was killed however. I don't know about Losty. But we didn't have our memories of our worlds originally. We were lost here, but they were kickstarted, and now I...remember everything." Everything. The good and the bad.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 375px;]Regaining his composure, the blonde feline cleared his throat as the misunderstanding cleared up. He dusted his chest with a paw while he listened to Lucina's statement. "Mark of royalty?" A grim frowned formed over the feline's lips as he arched an eyebrow. Was Lucina's idea of royalty the same as Takumi's? In all honesty, Ato didn't believe that the ivory feline was a prince one bit. With that attitude, there was no way he could have been a royal. Lucina on the other paw, seemed to fit the role of one. She had a certain air about her that gave off the aura of strength and honor. "Ah, right. I recall my sister mentioning that you're from another kingdom of some sort?"

The paladin trainee held his breath as the female continued to speak. This time, it was about her past. The more he listened to the lupine, the more he wanted to know more. Where was this other world? Was he a part of it too? Why had his sister never informed him of it? Atoningpaw unconsciously bit the bottom of his lip as he thought about Lostboy. Now that he thought about it, he didn't know much about his sister either. Lucina seemed to know a lot more about her than he did. "Ah...I see. Do you ever plan go back to this world you speak of?"

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 375px;]She nodded. "Indeed. The mark has been passed down through my family for generations. Although, there are some members of the royal family whose mark never surfaced, such as my aunt." Lucina had always felt bad for Lissa in that sense, growing up feeling as though she had to prove herself worthy of a princess title. "Ylisse. That is where I am from."

The pain struck her right in the heart. There was no question that if she could go back to Ylisse she would but...it wasn't that simple. After all... "I...don't think so. I would if I were able to, but... The truth is, I was killed, but my soul survived and came here. If I could find a way to go back home, to my family, my friends, I would. But I don't think that will be possible."
