    Demons are creatures that strive to create contracts so they can rise through their ranks. Demons believe humans to be creatures that only want to benefit themselves. My character is a demon that has made a contract with your character. What happens when feelings start to get involved in this mixture?

  • Name:
    Kate Merrit
    Age:
    24 years old
    History:
    Kate has always lived a roller coaster of a life. Some days, she would be having the best day, while she felt like screaming during others. Her family lived poor, so she was raised poor. However, she never felt the need for material things. She was the kind of kid who was content with climbing the trees in the yard or around the neighborhood. Her parents were good people, her father managing to find time to give to the homeless and her mother a volunteer nurse at the hospital. However, one day, when Kate was about 16 years old, her mother got sick. No one could identify it, not even the hospital, and her father spent his life savings on trying to help her. Kate got into some rough business, hung out with the wrong people, and made someone mad. She is the kind of person with a fiery attitude, so she knew this was bound to happen. The problem was, was that this guy was a member of an infamous gang from the area. Once her father found out about this, he sent Kate off to live with her grandparents. One day in the paper, news of a drive by found it's way to Kate. The paper said that a middle aged man had been killed in her neighborhood. Inside, she knew it was her father. Throughout the rest of her life, and into community college, she always blamed herself. It should have been her who died, and she will never forgive her reckless actions.
    Other:
    "I wish"

    "Adrian by order of this court you are to stay on Earth until you have successfully made a contract and collected a soul", the king of the demon realm ordered.

    "Your highness I don't think that is necessary. Just the other day I about got someone to sign a contract."

    "But you didn't because you ended up saving them instead."

    "Well...You see there is a good explanation for that." Quicking an eyebrow, the demon king waved his hand and the rest of Adrian's words got swallowed up. A pit opened beneath him and Adrian was sent spiraling out of the demon realm. Everything was swirling around him as he was sucked out and deposited on Earth.

    A sensation of falling was all he felt before he landed with a thud on the hard ground. "Ouch! Hey next time you decide to kick someone out be nicer about it. I have feelings you lousy king", he shouted to the air.

  • Kate rushed through the small diner on the side side of the main road rather quickly, narrowly avoiding customers and other waiters with less than graceful movements. It was almost the end of her shift, and she was tired of wearing the yellow and white dress that was her uniform, her hair pinned up, and occasionally being harassed by customers at the later hours. It was tiring! Glancing at the clock, she heaved a sigh of relief, and quickly jogged to the exit. After quickly checking out, she exited through the front door, breathing in the fresh air that didn't smell like burgers and fries.

    The young woman took her hair down, opening her purse to stick the crumbled one dollar bills inside. If people saw her now, they would think her a stripper. This was her life now. Sure, she went to college. It wasn't a good college, but it could be something worthwhile later on. As she walked, she felt something on the ground beneath her, but it was too late. The young woman tripped, falling onto the ground with her dollar bills dropping from her hands. "Ouch..." She muttered, sitting up on the ground and knitting her eyebrows together. What happened? As she looked to wear she had tripped, she saw a man in the same predicament as she was in.

    "Are you okay? I must have tripped over you..." Kate quickly said, standing up quickly and brushing off her clothes. Geez, she was a clutz. Embarrassment flooded over her, and she focused on trying to pick up her tip money from the ground, heart pounding in her chest.

    Adrian studied the human woman for a second before bringing himself to his feet. "It's alright it's not your fault", he assured her as he stood there with his head titled. His eyes landed on the crumpled dollar bills and her uniform. A smile graced his features and he levitated himself a bit off the ground. He moved in a circle around her before coming to a stop in front of her.

    "I have a proposition that I think you will be very interested in", he said with a smirk, "How would you like to make a contract with a demon and get your every wish fulfilled?" His eyes met hers and he didn't bother to hide the demonic pupils of his. "You could get everything you ever wanted for just a few meager years of your life."

    He raised his eyes to the top of her head and looked at the number floating above her head. She still had quite a few years left in her meager life span. A smoky 72, visible to demons, floated above her head as he turned his attention back to her. "So, do we have a deal?"

    [/fancypost]

  • Kate lifted her green eyes from the ground, jumping to her feat and stepping back. This guy was floating, and he definitely wasn't normal... Or human, for that matter. She opened her mouth to say something, her mind recalling her fathers face. Didn't this thing just say it would cost her years off of her life? She swallowed hard, feeling a lump forming in her throat. "I-I..." She stuttered, clenching the dollar bills in her hands.

    Finally coming to her senses, a sense of determination washed over her pale face. "A contract with a demon? IF I was to agree to this, I would want details. Even if this isn't normal, I can still get tricked!" She said, her voice stronger by the end of her statement. She let herself put the bills in her purse as she stared at the man with slightly pursed lips. Her mind was mulling things over. She could get her father back... He would be able to laugh with her, to enjoy the life he didn't have a chance to complete!
    The woman bit the inside of her cheek while she waited expectantly, a determined look still on her face.

    OOC: This is a bad post... It will get better!

    ((Don't worry about it!))

    Adrian nodded his head and continued, "Of course, ahem. A wish will take away years from a humans life. Once those years are taken they are turned into points for the contracted demon. A contract ends when the humans years run out. A demon is not obligated to protect their contractor but they do have to follow all of their contractor's wishes. Just be warned, each wish comes at a price. The more magic used the higher the number of years from the humans life is taken.

    Examples of high point wishes: Saving people that were meant to die that die, Wishing to become rich, Wishing to kill someone that wasn't meant to die....

    Examples of low point wishes: Wishing to save someone that wasn't meant to die, wishing to send people back to where they came, wishing for the demon to listen to someone else as well...."

    He looked at her and tilted his head, "so what do you think? You want to make a contract? All you ever wanted and all you have to do is agree and make your first wish. It can be a small or a big wish and we will be in a contract. Name it and I will do my best to make your wish come true."

    [/fancypost]

  • Kate's lower lip trembled slightly as she thought, her forehead creasing. It seemed like a decent offer, and she was tempted to sign off on it. "You said saving someone who died can be done?" She said, looking up suddenly as soon as the words left her mouth. She glanced around, breathing in the crisp air of the city. The woman didn't feel comfortable talking about such matters in the open. "I'll agree, then... Can we just talk somewhere else? I was already on my way to my apartment... I just think these matters shouldn't be done on a sidewalk."

    Kate looked at him hopefully, brushing a strand of jet black hair out of her face. The thought of getting her father back... She couldn't even imagine! It had been so long, long enough for her to clean up her act. For the most part, at least. She glanced up in the sky, then back upon the so called demon with the light purple hair. She wondered if he could trust him... And what did he mean by not being able to protect her? What would she need protection from? Maybe she was reading too far into this... The situation was delicate, and she intended to treat it as such!

    ((Don't worry about it!))

    Adrian shrugged, "Sure just lead the way", he said before following after her. He had lowered himself back on the ground so he could blend in better. His appearance didn't help any but he did make his eyes look human as he hummed beside her. This was turning out to be easier than he had imagined.

    He wondered how many years her wish would take from her life. He looked at the 72 floating over her head before returning his attention to what was in front of him. Up ahead he could see someone whose number had dropped to a .1. He scanned the nearby area but no demon was nearby.

    The fragile human collapsed in the middle of the crowd. No one seemed to care as they kept moving forward. The human gripped their chest and fought for air. He watched with slight interest as the fragile human struggled to survive. Still, the number above their head told him the tale of what was to come.

    [/fancypost]

  • Kate widened her eyes and gasped as she saw the man collapse in the crowd. Her heart seemed to drop in her chest and she immediately started to panic, especially when no one acted or even glanced down. How could no one care? She glanced back at the demon, knit her eyebrows together, and ran towards the man. "Are you okay? Can I do anything?" She exclaimed, kneeling beside him with a worried look. She hated seeing people in pain or struggling. It broke her heart. The woman glanced around, pressing her lips together.

    "Someone call 911, please!" Kate exclaimed, not having her phone with her. She glanced back at the demon who seemed to be regarding the situation with interest. What was he looking at, anyways? Maybe she was getting a glimpse into what his personality was... A shiver ran down her spine, but she turned her attention back to the man. "Help is on the way. Just... Just hold on a second." In all honesty, the girl had no idea how to act. She was purely relying on common sense.

    [font=courier][color=#BF5FFF]
    "You know", Adrian said as he moved around to face her, "you could save this man. All it takes is a simple wish and he could be on his merry way." He shrugged and began to walk a little farther away. "it's your choice. After all, you would be the one who would be in a contract with me." Humming he hopped onto a raised edge and tried to balance himself on one foot.

    "Just one wish is all it would take", he said again as he hopped to switch to the other foot. The demon's hair ruffled in the wind and his form swayed as he focused on gaining balance. He spun around to face her and looked her in the eyes. "So what will it be? A few years of your life in exchange for his or are you going to let him die?"

    [/fancypost]

  • Kate stared at him in horror, her heart torn. A few years of her life to save this man, whom she didn't even know? She averted her eyes, breathing in deeply. As much as she hated to admit it, she couldn't risk it. She already had someone in mind. The young woman marched right up to Adrian until she was just a few inches away from him, her eyes narrowed into green slits. Kate felt rather angry, her fist clenched by her side. "I know what you're trying to do," She growled, glancing at the man with her gaze faltering a little. "But I am not making any rash decisions. Follow me," She said, looking back at the demon before backing away from him.

    As much as it hurt her heart, she started walking away, watching her feet as she walked. Was that the right decision? Hopefully help would arrive to save him... She breathed in deeply once more, not caring to glance back to see if he was following. By now, she could see her building. All she wanted to do was take a warm bath, but with her current company... That would just have to wait. She had way too many questions, and was starting to doubt if this demon had any good intentions. Sure, he was a demon, that much she knew. However, she was blinded by the thought of getting her father back. She didn't care for wealth, a bigger house, or a better job. Now was the time to keep straight and towards her goal.

    [font=courier][color=#BF5FFF]
    "Wow you're really letting him die", he said with an interested look on his face. "Huh, I guess they were right about humans. Only care about themselves. This is great", he chuckled to himself. "Man you must have something in mind to just let him die like that."

    He put his hands behind his head and followed after her. He hummed the same tune from earlier and gave fleeting glances to the humans they passed. It didn't seem like it took too long before they stopped in front of her building. He looked it over but said nothing as he waited for her to open the door.
    [/fancypost]

  • Kate gave him a sharp glance, clenching her teeth. He seemed to be really trying to get under her skin, but she refused to let him. "Say what you want, buddy, but you came to me." She opened the front doors to the building, walking inside. The lobby wasn't anything special, it was basic and all she could afford. The woman lived on the sixth floor.

    There was still time to back out, and she hesitated, glancing back at Adrian. Was she really willing to do this? Would her father be angry with her for what happened? Would he even remember? She shook her head, removing those thoughts from her mind. She didn't want to overthink it. "Follow me," She said over her shoulder as she moved to the elevator. Her heart felt heavy with guilt for not helping that man, but she tried to remove those thoughts as well. It was best not to dwell on them.

    Kate pressed the button to call the elevator, and tapped her foot impatiently. This elevator had always been slow, but she learned to live with it. As soon as the doors slid open, she stepped inside, one arm holding the doors open so that her "company" could get it as well.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=#000000; bordercolor=#FFFFFF; borderwidth=7px;]

    [fancyimage]http://cdn.photonesta.com/imag…5333661_1_11_uDBxX0Ie.jpg[/fancyimage]
    [font=courier][color=#BF5FFF]
    Adrian followed after her into the building. His eyes met others and he offered them a charming smile. He got into the elevator with her and waited for it to start moving. He leaned against one of the back walls and stayed there as the elevator traveled upwards.

    A ding could be heard every time the elevator reached another floor. His brow scrunched in annoyance as they moved past each floor. "That's it. How do you call the operator? This dinging is driving me insane", he said with gritted teeth as it moved past another floor.
    [/fancypost]

  • Kate glanced over at him, biting the inside of her cheek. All she needed was one thing, then he was gone. "Well... You won't have to deal with it much longer, because I already know what I want to wish for," She said over her shoulder, managing a small smile. She was nervous to say the least, and kept messing with the hem of her dress. She brushed a few strands of black hair behind her ear and looked relieved once the elevator doors opened.

    Stepping quickly out, she started walking down the hallway, digging through her purse for her keys. Her life was a mess, that much someone could tell from the danger zone in the bag. Finally, she got them out and stood in front of her door soon after. "This is it," She said in a soft voice, not looking back as she opened the door.

    Her apartment was small, yes, but she always tried to keep it well decorated and clean. The walls were crisp white, and there were several pieces of furniture that seemed to highlight the room. She hung her jacket on a hook and set her purse on the table. Glancing down at her dress, she sighed. Someone had spilled their drink on her. "Would you mind if I quickly changed?"

  • [fancypost bgcolor=#000000; bordercolor=#FFFFFF; borderwidth=7px;]

    [fancyimage]http://cdn.photonesta.com/imag…5333661_1_11_uDBxX0Ie.jpg[/fancyimage]
    [font=courier][color=#BF5FFF]
    Adrian had already made himself at home by the time she asked him about changing. He sat up from the couch and shook his head. "Do whatever you need to do. I'll still be here when you get back", he said before closing his eyes once more and kicking his feet onto the arm of the couch. His chest rose slowly but he wasn't asleep as he lay there and awaited her return.

    Once she got back from changing he would sit up and move over to her. "You said you had a wish so let's hear it. Do you want riches? Do you want to have a new place? Do you want all things that you couldn't have? Do you want to save someone whose dying? What would you like to wish for?"
    [/fancypost]

  • Kate stared at him for a few seconds, taking note that he was already comfortable in her apartment. This guy wasn't just comfortable in her apartment, but seemed comfortable in his own skin! She sighed, disappearing into her room as she shut the door with a small click. The woman quickly shed her dress and put on a pair of shorts with a t-shirt, feeling much more comfortable. She exited her room, staring at Adrian as he moved over to her.

    Taking a deep breath, she decided to speak. It was, however, best to be cautious in a situation like this... Not that she knew anything about this kind of situation. "So... Is it possible to bring someone back who wasn't supposed to die? Someone who died in the place of another?" It should of been her, it would have been her if she hadn't gone against her instincts and obeyed her father and went to live with her grandparents.
