  • [justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 420px; color: darkgrey;][sub]For those of you who know what CSGO stands for, you could probably give me some advice.

Basically I need to rank up to level three (I know how to play the game but I've just been playing non competitively this whole time lmao) and want to know the fastest way to do that. Any tips?

  • [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:440px;text-align:justify;font-size:10px;line-height:130%][size=9pt][font=constantia][color=white][glow=black,2,300]Arms Race, from what I've heard, is the fastest way to rank up. However, I played a mix of Deathmatch and Casual myself to get to level 3. Deatchmatch helps with practicing your aim. Casual for fun.

  • [justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 420px; color: darkgrey;][sub]That's great because I love arms race, thanks! How long did it take you, do you think?

  • [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:440px;text-align:justify;font-size:10px;line-height:130%][size=9pt][font=constantia][color=white][glow=black,2,300]Took me a few days because my ping is terrible and I don't play online much. If you have a decent connection and play like 2 hours of online matches a day then you'll get to level 3 rather quickly.

  • [justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 420px; color: darkgrey;][sub]my ping is also terrible so i feel you

i've played for a couple hours today already so I've made a little progress.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:440px;text-align:justify;font-size:10px;line-height:130%][size=9pt][font=constantia][color=white][glow=black,2,300]cool beans! if you want you can add me on steam cause i have no friends RIP

profile name is Xynphal (go figure)

  • [justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 420px; color: darkgrey;][sub]Oh nice! I'll add you right away. I'm PinkLions btw

  • [size=10][font=georgia]if you have an operation pass, doing the missions can net you a couple hundred xp each. also, i wouldn't recommend jumping into competitive as soon as you reach rank 3. it's a LOT different than casual (i learned that the hard way) and the stakes are a lot higher. (glad to see some other cs go players on this site, though :3)

  • [justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 420px; color: darkgrey;][sub]oo i'll look into that

    and really? what's it like?

  • [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:440px;text-align:justify;font-size:10px;line-height:130%][size=9pt][font=constantia][color=white][glow=black,2,300]In competitive there's a lot of things you need to learn (like callouts, rotation, proper team support, when to buy / save, etc.). I can help out with a few things if needed.

the operation pass costs $5 i think? not really worth it for exp and if you're new to CS:GO

  • [size=10][font=georgia]^ + i'd recommend watching TheWarOwl's videos on youtube. he's got some really nice tutorials on stuff for beginners. personally, i've made all of my money back that was spent on the pass from selling cases + extra drops from it, but i think it's a little too late to even break even (bc i bought the pass the day it came out).

  • [justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 420px; color: darkgrey;][sub]Really? I didn't think competitive would be that complicated haha. I'd love to learn to play properly though. Would you be willing to teach me? :0

(i can make a csgo group chat on skype or something for us if anybody wants)

oo thanks for showing me that youtube channel, it looks helpful i'm gonna watch some videos now.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:440px;text-align:justify;font-size:10px;line-height:130%][size=9pt][font=constantia][color=white][glow=black,2,300]WarOwl is what I watched to start getting good. Also a skype group is a good idea! I don't play online a lot due to poor internet but I can always help!

    skype user is fazethex

  • [size=10][font=georgia]cs go is definitely more complicated than it looks! cx it has a very large skill gap, unlike a lot of other casual shooters like cod (which i'm assuming you're coming from...?) it's a lot of fun, though, and don't get too discouraged! i have about 90 hours into it and i still haven't even thought of playing competitive yet. (and i could PM you guys my skype and steam if you want. i might be a little too shy to use my mic on skype at first (if that's what you mean), though, so sorry!) btw, a valve-sponsored competition (aka major) is coming up really soon, too. it's going to be streamed on twitch. while watching professional teams play isn't a very effective way to get better imo, it's really fun (go enVy!) cx

  • [justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 420px; color: darkgrey;][sub]PM me your steam and skype and I'll add you! (I doubt we'd have any skype calls done worry cx)

I quite enjoy casual and such for the time being so I might as well stick with that, especially until I get good at it haha.
