and if anyone gets the sleepytime junction thing that i slipped in there then I love you so much cx
tiny little trigger warning i guess there is one mention of r*pe near the beginning-ishin the second para c:

Chase couldn’t sleep. He had been sprawled out on his sofa with a large blue blanket draped lazily over him. Link was peacefully asleep on his perch across the room and Sachiko was no doubt upstairs resting in the attic. Why did she even sleep? The albino serval was a spirit. He would never understand that. The suicune groaned. He had been tossing and turning for about an hour now and could not get to sleep. He did not mind being so big but it was a pain in the ass sometimes he had to admit. But that wasn’t why he couldn’t sleep. It was something else. It was bothering him but he just couldn’t get his mind off it. And he knew that something was keeping him awake. As if he was being warned against sleep. Like something bad would happen if he went off to ‘sleepytime junction’

That was a cute little term that he had picked up from Latekit- oh no. Chase felt his stomach lurch at the thought of his son. The product of r*pe whom he had adored with all of his might even though he always saw that monster in his son’s reflection. The large cerulean creature’s breathing grew faster as images of that pure, innocent little caracal flashed into his mind. Him sat there singing a song that he had heard from a human device. It had stuck with him for ages and he had always made Chase sing it to him.

The suicune let out a little moan, rolling off the couch to try and wake himself up. He didn’t really feel like delving into the depths of a dream about his son. As he hit the floor something weird happened. It was like the ground was swallowing him up. He let out a startled cry as he attempted to get to his paws but the dark tendrils swiftly wrapped around his body. It was the shadows tugging him down.

Link stirred from across the room and the raven opened his black eyes, spotting Chase being pulled into the shadows and letting out a loud squawk of surprise. Chase opened his mouth to call out for help as he felt himself getting smaller but he couldn’t. He was muted like someone had just flicked a switch and turned him off. As he was pulled down and sunk into the floor he swore that he could hear a familiar voice singing. But it was so eerie. It was his voice but it was so different. Warped and distorted. He turned his gaze up and fixed it onto a shadowy figure sat on his table. They were swaying in a mesmerising fashion and willing him to sleep.

‘Somebody’s taking the train to sleepytime junction. Hehehe’

    Darkness.
That was the last thing that Chase saw. He was floating in a void of nothingness. And then he blacked out completely.

    ---

Dawn broke as faint birdsong echoed through the streets. It was serene. Peaceful and too good to be true. Then it was shattered by a harsh caw. It was full of urgency and anyone curious enough would have looked up to see a familiar black raven circling not too far above Chase’s house.

Inside it was dead silent. There was a large blue blanket on the floor and a ball of something underneath it. The thing was moving, it was in fact breathing. Strange behaviour for a seemingly inanimate object. The faint outline of a spirit was walking around it, not showing any traces of the ghost being there apart from the creases created when it walked over the fabric. The transparent creature seemed to be peering down at the thing under the blanket but it didn’t dare lift the blanket up to investigate. It caught the sound of pawsteps and disappeared altogether, leaving the thing alone.

This thing under the blanket was a young, female caracal. They had bright brown eyes which were currently shut tight and no tongue. Its vocal chords had been seared out when it had been attacked by someone with a flaming paw. The wildcat was the one and only Chasingrainbows. But this was not what he had planned. He didn’t intend on ever revisiting this godforsaken body again. Something must have triggered it off but what? This would definitely not be good seeing how many bad memories it carried with it. It would definitely not be good for Chase's mental health. Now it was a waiting game until they were awoken...
