ICE HAS MADE ITS WAY DOWN TO THE TROPICS. PATIENTS IN HOSPITALS ARE FREEZING TO DEATH. THE WORLD IS ENDING. the newspaper headlines made shivers dance along your spine, you knew the climate was flipping, but you didn't know it was at this velocity. for the past three and a half years you had been watching as more people fell into anarchy and third-world countries fell apart, but now the cold was beginning to face your hometown. snowflakes were falling from the sky in the middle of the spring months and began to cover the ground in small splotches of dampness. whatever humans had done to the earth then we didn't hold back, there was no saving us now.
you had purchased your first snow jacket today, it had been getting colder and you could tell your parents were getting more and more worried with each day that passed. it was beginning to snow now, but not with just small flakes that shrivelled up underneath the heat of the sun, but thin blankets covered the dying grass from the previous summer months. it hadn't rained this much the whole year. the cold was even worse for people in the far southern and northern parts of the globe, they were barely habitable and now people were beginning to migrate inland. that meant more people coming to where you lived, that meant less food rationing, the government was already trying to think of the future by hiding bucket loads of food in bunkers for politicians and important people. the thought wasn't just enraging to you, it was setting the world on fire with revolts and rebellion. though the fire in peoples hearts didn't stop the inevitable cold that was coming.
it happened suddenly at first, unexpected and at full force. you went to open you window one day but only found blankets of white for miles and miles. you could barely see outside because of the blizzard that was storming so viciously outside. then, the freezing, icy sensation began to slowly crawl up your back as you stood in your pyjama shorts and singlet, the kind of cold any young child would dream of. the kind of cold that reminded you of the wisps of your childhood spent outside playing with the flakes, though you only wished that it was gone now...
three painful months had passed since the arrival of the snow and you had been told to abandon your childhood home, to flee to the woods to a safe haven made for your community. people stayed, your neighbours, an elderly couple that had lived in the house next to yours since the day they married. they didn't dare leave their dwelling now, not when their house needed them most. you thought of it as daft, the elderly couple would die in a matter of weeks, days maybe, if there house didn't collapse in on them before that. the safe haven was pleasant, a steel building the size of the mall ten minutes away from your old house, it fit the people and had the resources most people would die for. though, the guards were aggressive and strict and their actions lead to an inevitable revolt. people you had grown up around had begun killing the guards and assassinating the people who sided with them, you lied, saying that you wanted out for your own safety. you were too smart to not lie to the guards as well, you had enough practise when you were younger, lying to your parents about who ate the last biscuit. the memory tore in your heart, so you pushed it away, the world was too screwed for you to remember the good ol' days.
a lot more than expected could happen in five years, the government had given up and the majority of them couldn't be found, you guessed that they had fleeted from the harshness of your community. now, you and your community stood as one, fighting for land and food and a safe place to live. the different communities had grown to fight and know each other by different names then their previous town. some created languages that they would consider theirs, but one stood above all, endor was its name and it had been taught to youngsters around the opposing clans. it was normally used in trades between the people and most of the children were speaking it with fluency you could only dream of.
now, you stood along with you clan named leimm, and a ally named autmald clan, blades in hand and a snarl across your lips. war paint was drawn all over your body and face and you stood with your siblings waiting for the order from your commander. one yell and you would be released, released from the pain of the few years, the hardship you had gone through, the death you had experienced. you deserved to kill these people, they stole your land and abused the laws so infractioned in the clans. they deserved it, and you were one of the ones willing to give them their chastisement.
now, all you have to do is survive the never ending winter...

the plot is basically what the intro is, except that we begin a couple of generations after the beginning of the ice age or whatever you want to call it. this is kind of going to be a spin off of the tv show and book series The 100, the grounders being the clans and the 100 being the mountain people.
so, people from the mountains have stayed in there for a long time and have finally come out to look at the rest of the world, the clans don't like that and get all pissed, resulting in an inevitable war between the two. more things will happen and drama is encouraged, so let those imaginative minds go to work, but nothing too dramatic, if you want to make a crazy plot line then please dm me and ask first. (i'd probably say yes so don't get scared to ask)
