"Come on, guys! I'm sure this adventure would be great!" Vixen exclaimed, trying to persuade her hesitant friends to a roadtrip. She wasn't completely sure if the place they would go was one hundred percent like what she saw in brochures and ads, but it was worth a shot to check out. Plus, they had been caged in their small apartment for longer than Vixen liked. She'd like to go out somewhere before term started up again.
"Adventure," Katie snorted, adjusting her body on the couch. "More like getting lost after all the gas is gone."
"Katie, stop being so pessimistic! I'm sure I have enough money to get us all the way to the town."
"No, no. If we actually go, I'm driving. I can't trust you being at the wheel like last time," Kyla said, remembering when Vixen nearly crashed into a building but got saved by a slightly steep ditch. She felt like she dislocated her shoulder back then, and it wasn't a pleasant feeling.
"Wait, so you're actually on my side for going to Badlands?" Vixen asked, eyes glistening in hope. Kyla sighed and rolled her eyes.
"I said if. That doesn't mean I agree with going." She said. Vixen pouted.
"How are you guys able to stay cramped up in this place we call an apartment for all this time? Not to mention our break is almost over and we have to go back to classes soon!" Vixen said. College didn't allow you to do anything fun for months.
"I don't know. I just like relaxing." Katie said.
"You always do that." Kyla said, once again rolling her eyes. She was always the disappointed one in the group.
"screw off, Kyla."
"Come on! I don't wanna go by myself! Do you not want a new experience in your life to tell your grandchildren about?" Vixen kept persuading.
Kyla sighed, finally submitting to her friend's unending rambling about trying to get them to go to Badlands with her. Might as well agree to finally shut her up. "Ok, Vixen. I'll go with you."
Vixen jumped in happiness, glad that she finally got one friend to agree with her. Now it was only Katie left.
-
"Fine, I'll come, but only because I don't feel like being by myself for the rest of break, or however long we'll be there," Katie rolled her eyes. "So, should we just go today? It'd be the most convenient, besides it's pretty early." It was only 1:00pm, giving them quite a few hours to get to Badlands if they decided to go now. She got up and looked for some food because it'd already been two hours since she last ate.
-
"Start packing then, so we can leave soon," Vixen said in excitement as she practically ran to the room that they all shared, going over to her bed and pulling out the small duffel bag she kept under it. "I want to get there soon so we have time! And Kyla, start looking for any motels for us to stay in!" Vixen hollered to her friends who were still in the other room.
The badlands seemed pretty awesome from all the pictures she had looked at online, and going away for a few days wouldn't hurt anything. Plus, she was already falling behind in some classes so she could have some time to catch up while they were away.
-
Sighing, (for the umpteenth time) Kyla went to her room to retrieve her excuse of a laptop. She had it since she was seventeen, and it was the most slowest gadget she had ever used in her life. If she had enough money, she would had sold it off already and get a new one.
After a few minutes, she opened her browser and typed in 'Motels near Badlands.' thousands of links popped up and Kyla scrolled through many, going on a select through.
-
Katie started packing her bags full of clothes. Obviously, she put her phone charger and other necessities. She put in other random things like makeup, and then zipped it. She was done, because she didn't feel like planning out every single outfit. She put it in Kyla's car, just deciding to take the keys and do it because it wouldn't matter.
-
Vixen finished packing her things, making sure she had 'To Kill A Mockingbird' with her so she wouldn't get bored in the car ride to Badlands. After she was done, she walked over to where Kyal was with her laptop. "Find anything that wont put us in debt for twelve years?" She asked jokingly.
-
"Yeah, I did," Kyla replied. "There's an Embassy Suites in the town, I can just put these directions in the GPS and we are all set."
"Wow, look at you, sounding all techy and stuff." Vixen laughed.
"Ok, Vixen. Ok."
Kyla was the last to get all her necessities together, piling them into the trunk of her car. She set up the GPS on her phone which was ready to begin directions once everyone was situated.
-
"I'm playing my mixtape," she said blankly, making a lunge for the aux cord. "No one can stop me now. But it won't be my fault if the car explodes because it's too fire." She plugged her phone in and turned up the volume. The beat dropped harder than that lady who had McFallen.
-
"Your mixtape is beautiful Katie," Vixen complimented sarcastically, wiping a fake tear from the edge of her eye. "Ten outta ten would buy that for .99 on itunes."
After driving for about thirty or fourty minutes, Vixen noticed that the gas sign was flashing on the dashboard. She waved her hand in Kyla's face (who was driving so that was unsafe af)
before pointing to the little sign flashing."We're gonna need to stop for gas soon unless we wanna push this car the rest of the way." She said with exasperation in her tone, as she leaned back in her seat.
