He is often joking or goofing around, though knows to be serious in battle. Gar is often seen as unintelligent or dim-witted, which could be caused by his immaturity. He has an easy time making friends, and is a very social person; making jokes and talking to just about anyone. Even though he's often the butt of many jokes, he has a soft side and can be very sincere and passionate. It can be assumed that much of his joking attitude is a mask to hide his deep sadness at the loss of most of his friends and family. He's clingy, afraid to lose those he cares about. Garfield will often do things that aren't considered proper, such as putting his feet on his chair. HISTORY → As a young child, Garfield and his parents traveled to many uninhabited regions of the world. They finally landed in a desolate region of Africa, in search for a rare green monkey. They did eventually find it, though unfortunately the monkey big Garfield and he contracted a rare disease. Desperate to save their sons life, Mark and Maria Logan gave him an untested serum made from the monkey itself. The serum had an unseen side effect, giving Garfield his green appearance and shape shifting abilities. Later in life, Garfield's parents were killed in a boating accident, making him an orphan. He became interested in a superhero team known as the Doom Patrol, and did everything he could to join (which included beating up and verbally harassing the members of the team). This is where he gained the alias Beast Boy. After a terrible battle which resulted in most of the Doom Patrol's members dying (including his adoptive mother Elasti-girl), Garfield left and became something like a loner. During this time he was depressed and didn't really see a purpose for himself. After aiding several superheroes in battle, the five teens decided to band together and create the Teen Titans. They became very close, and we're almost like a family. At one point, Beast Boy fights Adonis, Raven's father and leader of the underworld. During the fight, he gains a new transformation. Something like a werewolf, Garfield loses control of himself in this form and is therefore reluctant to use it in the future.
