  • //some kits can open their eyes as soon as they are born, while others take a longer time. since dapplekit is named for his eyes, i'm going to have him open his eyes :p

the tom sudden felt an urge to open his eyes. he wanted to win the play fight, but it was instinct that goaded the young kit. his eyes suddenly flew open, and an array of colors and sights met him. the tom yelped, turning his gold-and-blue eyes (with darker gold flecks) up to his mother expectantly, flicking his tail at mothkit in a distracted retaliation.

  • (Makay, and The person who plays Clearsong needs to name him lol)

Mothkit rolled on her belly and ripped her head at her brother. He eyes weren't yet opened and she didn't feel the need to open them yet. She mewed and swiped at the tom.

  • the tom kit dodged, now having the advantage of sight. however, he wasn't nimble enough to evade an attack, so he tumbled backwards. the young male popped up, grooming himself before mustering an embarrassed mew.

Sourstreak smoothed his fur under Daisypaw's reassurances."I guess. Though I can say I'm glad I wasn't caught in any of these disasters," he added."I did notice the sheer amount of extra snow about. The hunting patrols might have a bit of a harder time, wouldn't they," he mused, and stared back at Daisypaw, asking for opinion (and also just taking in her features rather swiftly).

  • Mothkit wimpered when she didn't feel her brothers fur when she swiped her paw.
She rolled back onto her belly and blincked open her eyes. Colors swam all around her, she squeaked and covered her eyes with her paws. She moved her brown paws away from her face and looked around. Her light blue eyes scanning the nursery. Her newly opened eyes landed on her brother, her ears perked up.

  • With a swish of his tail Cloudwalker led the patrol out of camp. The tunnel was quite small and he had to use his shoulders to widen it large enough for he and the others to fit through. The tunnel itself still made the tom quite uneasy but even so the lazy tom knew he had things to do, and also knew that the longer he sat about the longer his nest would be forced to go without him. The clan's hunger was also quite important too he'd admit. The icy winds tore at him from all directions but he endured fluffing up his thick tabby and white pelt to protect himself from Leafbare's unforgiving elements. The gentle crunch of snow and the soft whirring of wind were the only sounds in the unmoving Mountainclan territory. He had his ears perked, alert for any sounds. "Be careful out here, those Snow leopards could still be lingering about, so keep your guard up, and stay together." He told his patrol. It felt odd giving out orders. Not that he minded, it felt empowering as well, but he wouldn't let it get to his head. What he said did make sense, who knows what could be out here. He turned his head feeling the pitiful rumble of his stomach. He couldn't remember the last time he sunk his teeth into a fat hare or weasel. The thoughts made his mouth pool with saliva, but he shook his head briskly. He wouldn't allow his selfish desires overtake his priorities, as much as instinct drove against it self control which he had developed from apprentice hood would allow him to feed the queens and kits first. Stopping finally he opened his mouth to taste the air. He knew that most scents would be covered up by the frosty snow, but he hoped he'd be lucky enough to pick something up. His other senses were alert as well. His ears were perked detecting every noise in earshot, and his vibrant green eyes were flicking in all the directions of his peripheral vision. He would catch something if it was the last thing he did.

"Well, at least we can hunt at night! Because of the moonlight shining off the snow, our territory is basically a giant night-light!" She purred, she gave her tail a soft flick and studied Sourstreak's face for a reaction.

Icemask crouched down, stalking a weasel, it's white pelt making it hard to spot, but it's movements were clear as it scuffled through the snow, trying to find food. He was close, but the tom misjudged the leap and he over-jumped it. He fell into the snow, throwing up some of the white powder to hide which way the weasel went. It was quick and darted away, and it was so light Icemask couldn't see any tracks in the snow, and it's scent was lost in the cold flakes. "Hare-dung!" He cursed under his breath and stood, shaking snow from his long coat before heading off in search of more prey.

    Sorrelstream

Following the deputy out of the tunnel of snow, the tortoiseshell she-cat felt a shiver course through her body at the immense cold that emminated from the walls around her. She wasn't a huge fan of snow, which caused some problems when it came to life in Mountainclan. Still, she trudged through it, her tail dragging across the strip of white. As she popped out of the frozen prison, she gave a sigh of relief. The confined feeling of the tunnel made everything feel so much worse. As Cloudwalker gave orders and advice, she looked at him with curiousity. 'Is this really the same cat who was so nervous yesterday? He seems so... in his element right now.' The young warrior pondered to herself with some admiration in her eyes.

Pure Daisypaw hasn't seen the full wrath of Sourstreak's stingy side yet, thank god

"True," Sourstreak agreed,"but wouldn't that mean if you were stalking something above the snow, then cats with darker pelts would stick out more?" He said smugly. He didn't know what he was arguing for, or if they were arguing, which they weren't, but he did know that what he just said was right.

  • Cloudwalker looked up at the slightest sign of movement. At first, he thought it was simply wind but upon closer inspection he saw the large black eyes of a snow hare. It appeared to be crawling out of it's den in a search for sustenance. The hare itself was quite thin but it'd have to suffice. He carefully lowered himself close to the ground. His light colors helped him blend quite easily. The challenging part was attempting to slither across the frozen sheet as silently as he could. The crunch of snow would give his position away but he was too far away to make a proper jump. He carefully rose a paw, his movements were very slow, he wouldn't dare be fast. carefully placing his paws down he took cautious steps forward closing as much ground as he could from the hare. Finally he pounced, his paws extended full length. The hare looked up with terror in it's eyes but before it had time to react Cloudwalker had already pinned it. With a swift nip to the neck the hare was done for, leaving only the limp creature on the ground before him. He scratched the ground burying the hare beneath the snow. With a strong feeling of accomplishment he continued to search in hopes of finding more.

    Sorrelstream

Splitting off from the group, the youth's nose was planted to the ground, searching for the delicious scent of prey. The hunger that haunted her stomach only amplified her senses, teeth craving the piercing of flesh they were used to. Still, she was having no luck finding anything- it seemed as though all of the prey from this area was just... gone. Disappointed, she turned to retreat back to the group when the sickening smell of hare hit her nose like a snowstorm. 'It's gotta be right nearby!' She exclaimed to herself, whirling around and scanning the snowy ground, eyes desperate. Eventually, she saw it; a small hole, not big enough for a cat to get through, lying a few pawslengths away from her. With a quiet determination, she shrunk down to her crouching position and approached, the she-cat's heart racing. With the reflexes of a bird, she stuck her paw into the opening, barely missing the soft fur of a hare in waiting. Sighing, she tried to pull her paw back out, but came across an issue; she had her whole leg lodged in the hole, immovable. 'Uh oh.' She thought to herself, her eyes widening as she realized her predicament.

  • Winterberry sat in her den sorting through old herbs and new.
She pushed some rotting Oak leaves off to the side and new Oak leaves in a different pile.
Soon she had all of her herbs sorted.
She carried the good Herbs to the back of her den and stuck them were they belonged, in the cracks in the rocks of her den wall. She then went back to the dusty and crumbling leaves and plants and picked them up. The medicine cat deposited them outside of her den, only to come back in and sweep out the herb dust with her fluffy, brown tipped tail.
Winterberry gazed around her den, thinking of she forgot something. Then she remembered.
"Darkstorm," she whispered. The brown and white she-cat turned tail and walked towards the center of the camp where her lifeless sister still lay.
Winterberry grabbed her scruff and dragged her towards the newly formed camp entrance.

He quickly spotted his brown-pelted clanmate, and first he was going to turn away, but he then noticed her paw was in a hole, and she was tugging at it and it wasn't coming out. He trotted over to her and mewed "You're in quite the predicament, yes?" His whiskers twitched and he sniffed at the hole. "Let me try and dig it out." He tucked the ends of his paws in beside here and pulled at the snow and dirt, starting to chip away at the frozen ground.

  • Winterberry stopped draging her sister and looked at the small entrance. She decided to crawl through backwards and also pull Darkstorm through. She backed up into the hole and grabbed her sisters scruff. Once she got both of them out of the tunnel she looked around for a good spot to burry Darkstorm.
Winterberry thought about where Darkstorms favorite places were.
She loved to sit on top of the cave and watch the sun. That's were ill put her. winterberry carfuly dragged Darkstorm up the cave and to the place where she used to sit.

  • OOC: Same with Cloudwalker :/

Cloudwalker turned back from the hare he had just buried seeing Sorrelstream caught in the hole. He padded over to join Icemask and the stuck she-cat. A bit of amusement curled in his stomach but he suppressed it. Laughing would've just been rude, and most of the amusement was simply due to the nostalgia of scenarios like that happening to more than just him. "Do you need any extra help?" He offered seeing as Icemask was already assisting Sorrelstream.

    Sorrelstream

Her face heating up in embarrassment as the deputy and warrior approached her, she nodded to them, deeply grateful but too embarrassed to actually say so. She began digging alongside Icemask, her right leg useless due to being caught in the demon prey's trap, but her left paw went to work. Eventually, the debris around the hole caved, allowing her to shift and pull her leg out with a sigh. She licked the sore leg, wincing as she felt the rubbed skin sting as her tongue touched it. "Man, this poor paw." She motioned to the two toms with a laugh, attempting to divert attention away from that embarrassing moment. Of course it had to be the same paw she'd sprained the night before.

"Doesn't seem like it, but there was a hare that went into the tunnel. Maybe the tunnel opens at another end inside out territory. Maybe you could go find that?" He suggested. He gave a small glance toward Sorrelstream, but said nothing to her.

  • Cloudwalker looked up as Icemask spoke and nodded his head. "Right, good idea, thank you." He murmured looking to Sorrelstream, his whiskers twitching in amusement. "Well it's good that you still have it." He joked before leaving to search for the opposite side of the hare's den. His mouth slightly parted as he took in the chilly air. His throat ached slightly from the cold and his ears and paws were a bit numb. He looked for a scent trail or a small dent in the snow where the den might be. Anything to imply the hare might've been that way.

  • Winterberry scraped at the hard snow until it gave away to softer snow, she then started to dig a whole big enough for Darkstorm to safely lay in. The medicine cat pulled her sister into the hole and sighed. She said a quick prayer to StarClan and then started to cover the hole with the snow. She sighed again and padded back down and into the cave.
