I couldn't stop myself from being thrown across the bridge and crashing onto the viewport with a loud thud. I just barely avoided smacking my head against the glass. But then I noticed the red glow from outside, and I looked up, scared out of my wits.

I was staring into the eye of the creature. The Leviathan! The warning wasn't just a ruse! It was an actual being!

Then I saw the armored plating surrounding the eye. Metal plating. But then that would mean.

    "JIMINY CHRISTMAS!!! It's a MACHINE!"

    EVAN KEDOMATAT MONTGOMERY

    "A MACHINE?!"
Okay, I admit I'd seen lots of crazy things. I dug up bones for a living! It's not a surprising occurrence. But a giant mechanical lobster in the middle of the blasted ocean? That was just pushing it! "Lewis, get over here!" I barked, grabbing his hand and pulling him with me as Packard gave the order for all hands to abandon ship. The sub pods had launched by then, and I could hear the explosions of torpedoes hammering against the Leviathan's armor...and yet it didn't seem affected.

    Just VERY ANNOYED.

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

I groaned when the ship was knocked into again, throwing me and my perfect balance off so I was against the wall. "It's a what!?" I shouted back hysterically after catching what Evan said. "A f-cking machine!?" I grabbed hold of a railing nearby to keep steady. "The ship's sinking!" I told him, shoving him and his brother in the direction of the escape pods. Once I saw they were going in the right direction, I ran off to go find Alan, and make sure Milo had his scrawny butt heading to the pod.

  • "A machine? There's no way!" Alan yelled while grabbing Milo by the collar of his shirt. "Sorry!" He told him as he smoothed out the wrinkles in the shirt before shoving him in the direction of the escape pods. "Carna! Let's go!" He shouted waving her to the escape pods while running that way himself. His bag thumped against his back as he ran but he seemed to be moving like it wasn't there.

Upon hearing my name leave Alan's mouth, telling me to get going, I skidded across the metal floor, cutting the sole of my right bare foot as I did. I didn't like wearing shoes, and even after this I still wouldn't. They weighed me down and made my movements sluggish. Ignoring the burn from the cut, and the blood that I felt spread across the bottom of my foot, I ran after Alan and Milo. My duffel bags bounced like nothing against my back, the skirt of mine flowing behind me as I ran after them to get to the pods before the ship sank and I was locked out from getting in.

"Move it, people! Sometime today would be nice!"

Jesus, relax, I hissed to myself as Helga half-ushered, half-shoved the five of us (me, Alan, Carnaxa, Lewis, and Milo) into one of the escape carriers, somehow not falling off the ladder in my rush down it to get into a seat and buckle up. I made sure that Lewis was sitting in the seat directly beside me - I was not taking any chances. Milo came next, flunking down between Lewis and Audrey, while Helga and Rourke took position in the cockpit. "Lieutenant, get us out of here!" I heard Rourke bark out, and shortly afterward, the sound of the bulkhead crumpling beneath the pressure of the water reached my ears.

    Shit shit shit shit shit!

  • Alan barely managed to buckle himself in, though he leaned into the middle of the small escape pod to look out the window. "I guess there goes the ship with all our supplies, yeah?" Alan questioned rhetorically as he watched the ship get destroyed. His bag of guns was safely positioned in between his feet so it wouldn't slide around.

Only when I was safely in the carrier did I finally stop to examine my foot. My jaw clenched slightly as I located a piece of metal embedded in the gash. "Great," I mumbled, adjusting my seating beside Alan. I would be sitting next to Evan, but there was no room beside him. "Sweet, can you help me? I got some metal embedded into the sole of my foot and I can't get it out." I looked over at the large, muscular, gentle doctor of ours with hopeful eyes as I set my bags on the ground between Alan and I, considering the fact I couldn't put my right leg down unless I wanted the metal to go in deeper inside my foot.

  • ((The submarine has just been attacked by the robotic lobster thing, and everyone is in the same scape pod basically. Carna is hurt, and that's about all for the moment. But it seems like we are close to arriving in the underwater air pocket/cavern thing.))

  • No, but I'll improvise! Give me a sec while I come up with a post!

    MILO JAMES THATCH

I briefly heard Carna mention something about metal being caught in her foot, but I didn't hear anymore once Helga had uncoupled us from the Ulyssess bay, and the carrier we were inside sped away, just before we felt the reverberations of the ships explosions buffet against us from behind. We were shaking pretty badly, but that didn't stop Sweet from quickly and expertly removing the shrapnel (I assume without pain for Carna, unless she braced herself for it), and wrapping a fairly thick gauze around the wounded foot.

    GROOOOOOOOOOH!

And then there was that problem. The Leviathan still had not given up its chase. And I had a fairly good inkling as to why. "Where to Mr.Thatch?" Rourke called from up front.

"We're looking for a big crevice of some kind!"

"There! Up ahead! All units, 40 degrees down angle!"

Carrier 2 captain: Roger! 40 degrees down angle!

    Moliere: RIGHT BEHIND YOU!

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

I didn't feel any pain when Sweet removed the metal from my foot and bandaged it for me. I, for one, was a trained soldier, and had always had a high tolerance for pain. I smiled my thanks to him as I looked around, turning my body so I was facing Alan as I leaned over him casually to look out the window that was beside him. "Why is it still following!?" I cried incredulously as I sat back in my seat, frowning deeply. Listening to the orders being called out, I adjusted the seating of my bags. My dark blue locks fell away from my face, the blue, glowing ice crystal hanging around my neck free to be seen, especially since it contrasted against my tanned skin.

  • Sitting now with no emotion on his face, he had switched intro his work mode with no emotions. "I could shoot it." Alan offered as he cracked his knuckles ready to attack the thing right back. The one eyed boy stared back at the machine through his window with a cold glare, one which had always gotten him into or out of fights depending on the person (in this case thing/animal).

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

To my luck, I don't think anyone caught sight of my crystal before I could hide it with my hair again. I don't really know the properties it held, but my parents always said it was special to our people and it gave us a certain kind of power. I didn't know what though. "It wouldn't be wise," I said, regarding Alan's comment about shooting the mechanical creature. "For two reasons. Reason one; we are still under water with no way of reaching surface into before any of us drown. Reason two, if my knowledge of the way this thing operates from nust watching it, it would appear it is only doing as it is or was created for. Whatever or whomever made this machine, it was built to keep people from finding something. And if Herr Thatch's readings are correct then it is keeping us from following the trail to Atlantis, if there even is one." I said calmly, testing the amount of pressure I could put on my foot. I looked briefly at him through the corner of my eye as he cracked his knuckles, briefly admiring the flexing of his muscles that I could see underneath the trench coat he wore.

"Anyone else starting to get annoyed with this thing? Because I certainly am," I huffed, wincing when the Leviathan took out another one of our sub pods as we fled for the underwater tunnel. Jesus! It was called a Leviathan for a reason, and yet it moved so fast! It was kind of terrifying. It therefore came as a big relief to me when we dove into the crevice that it couldn't follow us down there - it's big bulk prevented it. Then I frowned, realizing that it couldn't reach us...but it's laser fire still could.

Sure enough, one of the sub pods near us spontaneously combusted as it was struck down by the Leviathan's breath, and our fellow carrier, in an attempt to avoid the crossfire, crashed and exploded into the wall, leaving only us and the last sub pod (containing Vincent and Mole)

MILO JAMES THATCH: "it's only a grease trap, it's just like a sink. It's only a grease trap, it's just like a sink!"

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

"I'd have to agree with that Evan," I said, glancing at my chest to make sure my necklace was hidden. I was lucky nobody saw it. "It is becoming very irritating." I scoffed, frowning deeply upon realizing we had lost another pod. "We need to get away and fast before we are sunk as well. Would there be any possible way for me to get a better look outside into the waters surrounding us? My eyesight in the dark is much better than in light," I offered no explanation as to how it was and I was secretly hoping nobody would question. It would bring memories I didn't want to resurface.

  • "Milo! Breathe in and out!" Alan clamped a hand onto Milo's shoulder trying to calm the man. Frowning as he watched two more pods explode. Sighing he closed his one eye and started to pray in French. "Cher seigneur, s'il vous plaît laissez ces âmes innocentes reposent en paix. Donne la paix à leurs familles et guider leurs âmes à votre étreinte." He muttered under his breathe as he made the cross sign before clasping his hands together. He might've not been the most religious man, but he did pray especially when their was a death involved.

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

I watched Alan quietly, before reaching over and gently touching his shoulder. Even I myself weren't religious, nor was he, to my knowledge, I did understand the reasoning behind prayer. I gave him a reassuring smile when I had his attention. "Find me a way to see out this pod and I can scout around. As I stated before, I can see better in the dark I --" I stopped upon realizing we were beginning to ascend. Looking at Evan, I pointed at him. "Don't move if we break surface. I will scout." I told him, predicting that if anyone would be the first to jump to see outside it'd be Evan. Despite my injured foot, I was ready to unbuckle and jump to the hatch to get out and see what was around us, if and when we break surface again.

  • Giving an a small smile, Alan gave Carna a thankful nod. "Wait a minute! Scouting is my job! If anyone is going out first it's me!" He protested a bit annoyed. On top of that Carna was injured and he definitely didn't want her getting more injured.
