  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

I tilted my head slightly as I listened to him speak, smiling slightly. "I understand." I nodded, eyes drawn to the smile on his face after his words. I couldn't help but look at his smile. I liked it. So soft and kind. I reached out and touched his hand that covered the cloth, my nails long to a certain extent. "It is... Interessant*." I said, offering a gentle smile of my own as I pulled my hand away. My eyes drifted briefly from his to his smiling lips before they fell to the butt of his pistol. The playful, childish side of me really wanted to play a game; really wanted to test his reflexes.

    *Interessant -- Interesting

    Yay!

  • Lewis Parker Montgomery

I punched Evan's arm, then fixed my hair. "I hate you." I mumbled, walking along with my brother, "And why does no one like Milo?" I asked thoughtfully. "And what presentation?"

  • EVAN KEDOMATAT MONTGOMERY

"What I meant by that is that not many people are like him in personality and work ethic," I swiftly explained, assuming that Lewis hadn't caught the memo from Carna. "As for the presentation, well, I could just let you find out for yourself...but because I am such a nice brother, I will tell you the basics. In order to get to Atlantis (theoretically, mind you), we have to first enter 'the lair of the Leviathan'. So mentioned in the Shepherd's Journal. I'm pretty sure we read about it when Father gave us a copy of the Book of Job." Which reminds me, I wonder if that cursed book is still sitting up on the shelf back home. Might as well have a look when we get back.

  • A little bit surprised, Alan's eyes widened just a fraction of a second before he was back to normal. "Merci, Madame." He gave a small bow in a theatrical sort of way. He watched her eyes and traced their path down to his pistol, before his smile grew.

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

I noticed his eyes widening when I touched his hand, and smiled brighter at the sight. I laughed softly when he suddenly bowed, offering a small dismissive wave of my hand. "Shall we play a game?" I inquired, eyes slowly going back to his pistol. Since I first saw him, having remembered most of the occupations of the people aboard, I knew him to be a skillful gunman and I wanted desperately to test the reflexes I heard he had. "A game to test ones reflexes." I explained, eyes locked on his again with my hands resting on my hips in a ball. Even with this conversation between Alan and I, I was still paying attention to everything Evan was saying. So this is it! If anyone can find my homeland it would certainly be Milo! I cheered mentally, but my features stayed childishly serious as I looked at Alan.

  • "A game? And what would this game include?" Alan had a mischievous twinkle in his eye about the idea of a game. His shoulders went back proudly, he was very confident of his reflexes and was very willing to test them.

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

I smirked slightly. "A game to our reflexes." I said simply. "I test how fast you can retrieve your pistol from me and vise versa. Whom ever retrieves the weapon the fastest wins." I noticed how he squared his shoulders with pride and couldn't help but smirk even more.

    //rushed, will edit later hopefully.

  • Sticking his hand out with a large grin, Alan nodded. "I'll play that game. One rule though, no firing the gun, last thing we need to do is drown us." He made a gesture with his other hand at all the glass surrounding them.

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

I took his larger hand in my own, grinning at him. "I do know how to handle a gun, Herr Smith. You are speaking with a trained Marine for an unknown organization. I am the best from my field, I can fire a firearm in my sleep.' I said, tilting my head slightly. "I will not fire your weapon. I'll hold the bullets if you wish, but I'll not fire. Do you wish to go first or shall I?" I added as I pulled my hand from his, looking up to the taller man.

  • Grinning as he released her hand, Alan thought for a moment. "Ladies first, of course. Do you wish to retrieve my pistol or keep it away from me first?" He asked while pulling out his pistol and emptying it of bullets and placing them in one of his many pockets.

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

I laughed, grinning as I looked at him. "Hmm, I say we test your reflexes first then my own." I replied to his question, rubbing my hands together excitedly. "I hope you don't mind of course?" I said, looking up at him, reaching for his weapon. I didn't really mind whom went first actually. I looked over at Evan and his brother briefly, eyes looking over Evan as discreetly as I could possibly make it.

    EVAN MONTGOMERY KEDOMATAT

I distinctly felt someone's gaze cast in my direction - I assumed it to be Carnaxa. I didn't make any sign of registering, however. She seemed to be having fun playing reflex games with Alan, and it wasn't my business to interrupt. Then again, many things were not my business. Nor had they been my business for years, ever since...

I swiftly swallowed down the thought, and whatever lump had been building up in my throat from it. I will NOT think about it. I will NOT think about it... Subconciously I rubbed my finger against the icy, glowing crystal that I wore and hid beneath the collar of my jacket, frowning slightly as I listened to Milo up on the bridge giving his speech - or presentation. Whatever. Something important. At least, until the helmsman called out urgently: "Commander! You might want to see this!"

I turned my head, looking out of the spherical viewport, and my eyes widened slightly at the graveyard of ships that lay littered before us. Seeing so many wrecks was eerie enough, but what made it more creepy was that the ships came from every era. I could see Viking, Greek, even Roman ships scattered across the seabed. Coincidence?

    Positively not.

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

Huh, he didn't notice. I thought glumly as I awaited Alan's response. Maybe there isn't something between Evan and I? Hmm. No, no, there is certainly something that makes him different. But..but what exactly. Whatever thoughts that were following left as soon as I heard the urgent message, and frowned deeply seeing the ship wrecks. "My God." I whispered as I looked at the viewport, standing beside Evan. My icy crystal necklace glowed underneath my long locks, eyes wide as I looked out the view. "What caused these wrecks? There...There are too many to be natural causes." I blinked my eyes, frowning before looking harded outside the view. "Evan... Do you see that?" I said, pointing a finger over at the large lobster like figure that I swore moved. "It... Did... Did it just move?"

  • EVAN KEDOMATAT MONTGOMERY

"Yeah, I saw it, too," I said to Carnaxa, involuntarily moving closer to her, feeling slightly unnerved and panicked. It was definitely lobster-like - but hen that would have to be the biggest lobster I'd ever seen. But it disappeared just as quickly as I had noticed it - but a long, metallic-sounding groan followed shortly after on the speaker. It was coming from outside the ship, picked up on the hydrophone. I guess Helga hadn't seen what Carnaxa and I had seen, for she assumed it to be an echo off one of the wrecks.

Then Milo spoke: "Is it just me, or is that getting louder?"

There was a silence that followed, and soon the groaning disappeared as well...but it did absolutely nothing to comfort me. It was a bit too sudden. No way the blasted thing left.

Unfortunately, as it turned out a few seconds later when a giant claw smashed against the hull, I was right.

  • Alan had just been about to hand his pistol over until they reached the grave yard for ships. Loading the bullets back into his pistol quickly he finished while listening to the groan. Putting it back in its holster before he was thrown into a railing as the ship was hit. "Oh mon dieu!" He shouted as he watched the giant lobster like creature. "Qu'Est-ce que c'est?!" He shouted, asking what it was in French.

Rushing back to his bunk he grabbed a bag of guns and ammo. Looking out into the hall as he made his way back to the others, he watched as a few small trickles of water started to form on the walls. "Guys!" He yelled looking as the hall slowly but surely started to fill with water.

  • Minx Carnaxa "Carna" Reeves

I moved closer to Evan, unconsciously of course, just as he did to me. My eyes narrowed slightly when I noticed it was gone. "How can it j--" My words were cut off by a giant claw hammering the subs hull. Despite my extensive training for the unexpected and ability to keep my calm under pressure, my heart jumped at the sudden attack and I involuntarily scooted even closer to Evan. Lewis, I suddenly remembered his younger brother and immediately detwtched myself from him to make sure he was okay before I started running for my bunk. If this ship was going down I wasn't losing the only things I ever owned. Plus... There were weapons from my people that couldn't actually work (they could, actually, I just didn't know how to operate them..) and I'd be damned if I'd lose them.

"Everyone, get the hell out of my way!" I shouted, shoving the panicked crew out my way as I jumped through doors and ducked under pipes, jumping stairs and railings till I got to my room. I quickly grabbed my unpacked bags, sliding them onto my back before disappearing again to collect the belongings of my newly made friends. Well, whatever I could tell was important to them of course. I suddenly stopped my haste down the hall, a sinking feeling in my stomach as I felt something wet on the pads of my feet. I cursed koudky and very unladylike as I ran back to the others, making it out the door behind Avery just before she shut it to contain the flood waters that started rushing in from the multiple hits we were getting from the attacking lobster-like creature. Whatever the hell it was I could tell it was meant to protect something we shouldn't find.
