[align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; width: 400px; text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt]Bad things happen when I lead. We get lost, people die, and the next thing you know I"m stranded somewhere without any pants.
Now, he wasn't leading anyone, per se, but Alistair was on his own, and he was certainly not following anybody. And, in his own words, bad things happened when he led. Or chose to head off on his own without any guidance from somebody a little more capable at managing their life. Alistair was a follower, definitely; he preferred to stand behind somebody and trail after them, deferring to their judgement with only the occasional comment, if they chose to do something absolutely outrageous. Luckily, he'd never had outrageous superiors, and had never particularly needed to speak out against any of their actions - he'd had a good experience with keeping his head down and doing as he was told, and frankly, he'd have been content to remain like that forever, had Clarel not existed.
But Clarel did exist, and he was a criminal, and now he was in ShadowClan. He didn't know he was in ShadowClan, of course, but he knew that he wasn't in ColouredClan, or SunClan, or BoneClan, and he was miles from Thedas. So what, pray, would he do?
His immediate thought was to join, as it was safer in a group. As much as he wanted to find BoneClan, he couldn't without any aid, and frankly, this was the best place to start. The Grey Warden could still here the ever-loud singing of the Calling, steadily increasing in volume - it was still ignorable, but it had reached the threshold, and he knew his time was running out. Alas, he didn't want to fling himself into the void just yet, and he still had things to do. Rather than fleeing to the Deep Roads to die, therefore, he was stood at the border, looking around. " Err, hello? " Alistair called out, adjusting his stance and eventually settling down. " Is anybody there? Clanners, perhaps? Please tell me you're an ally of BoneClan's. " the last sentence was muttered, a half-plea to himself, and he exhaled, tipping his head.
