jade mountain academy, founded by the dragonets of destiny centuries ago after the war of the sandwing succession came to a close, has survived the test of time, and in an age of peace, finds it's student population blooming. the academy is divided into five winglets, but each student no matter where they're place, is treated equally. the five winglets include: the jade winglet, the gold winglet, the silver winglet, the copper winglet, the quartz winglet.

the staff here has proven themselves to be incredibly kind and skilled in what they do, and there exists little possibility of something going wrong. in the past, students caused little trouble, but unlike the teachers, such young dragons can cause just about anything to happen. but even with this being so, jade mountain academy accepts new students with open arms. we look forward to your staying here, and remember, your journey through life is yours alone.

CHARACTER PERSONA::
altruistic, comical, dauntless, exciting, reckless, and unbiased.
overview ⇥ bear, being the daughter of the headmaster, can be imagined as a goody-two-shoes who sticks to the rules no matter what. in the reality, she's the complete opposite. she has the reputation for being the staff's worst nightmare, and that reputation, she carries with pride. she causes trouble left and right, breaking rules more than she can blink. she's rebellious, and though she's fully aware of the consequences for her actions, she does what she does anyways. no number of punishments is going to change her. she gets attention from the other students, and she loves it. she feeds off of it, and it encourages her. it motivates her. she's addicted, and she doesn't care.

however, she isn't the stereotypical "cool kid". she isn't mysterious or distant or cold. she cares less about herself and more about others, and she's completely open about it. her unbiased ways promotes this. regardless of who someone is or what they're known for, she's going to end up being as selfless to them as she is to her friends. if she catches someone by themselves, or looking more lonely than this icewing would prefer, she'll be over to them in a heartbeat, sparking a conversation or inviting them to hang out ( which really just means, "wanna watch me run through bushes while they're on fire? ). her comical nature comes in handy when it comes to talking as well. she tells jokes and stories, and prides herself in making others laugh. it fills her up, just like all the attention she gets for doing something wrong. whether or not someone would like to admit it, she's quite the comedian.

as much as she is a comedian, she's dauntless too. her fearlessness and determination is mostly shown during her stunts and risk taking, but it's just as useful with challenges. she's stubborn when it comes to giving up— pushing through obstacle after obstacle to get to the end. she doesn't except defeat easily, but when she does, she doesn't try again. she tries only once, and never more— of course, this only happens when it involves school work of any kind. it's a bad habit that only happens for the good things, and then disappears as soon as she tries to leap over a swarm of alligators. it's an incurable disease, that actually has a cure. but fixing it completely isn't an easy task.

with all this together, it's obvious she's a rather interesting dragonet to be around. she seems to have endless energy and with it, an endless amount of new ideas. she's always trying something new, and so, she's always taking new risks. she's reckless that way, but undoubtedly exciting. she never does the same successful stunt unless she adds something more dangerous to it. she leaps head-first into danger, and does the same when it comes to mock fights or arguments. as much as she enjoys risk-taking, she enjoys fighting. she does without thinking, never considering how she'll come out in the end. she doesn't care.

but that doesn't mean she can't be a good character with a good heart.

Organized, intelligent, observant, insecure
overview ⇥ Shorebreaker is definitely an interesting character. The blue SeaWing dragoness appears to be more reserved when you first meet her, always speaking in a calm manner. She's mature and level-headed, and she's more of a work-than-play dragon than anything. So she seems to be really stressed and tense a lot of the time.

Despite the fact that she seems calm at first, eventually you'll find her more 'explosive' moments.

The SeaWing isn't such a very social dragon, either. Shorebreaker tends to stay out of crowds or to try and interact with one. This is mostly because everyday interactions with ponies cause rather irrational anxiety, fear, self-consciousness, and embarrassment. She feels fine around friends most of the time, but around other dragons this usually happens.

She's insecure, related to what was said just before. Shorebreaker wants to fit in with every other dragon and tries her best to, sometimes succeeding. But most of the time, she usually doesn't, most likely because of her more antisocial behavior. Yet even then, she cares about what every other dragon thinks about her. She cares about her reputation.

Shorebreaker has a strict behavior. She's known for being really intelligent and hard-working, always pushing herself beyond her boundaries to test her limits. She's quite honest too (but only towards other dragons and not about herself), and though sometimes she can be quite brutally honest, at least you'll get the truth out of her a lot of the time.

She's well put-together, organized, and responsible and neat. Shorebreaker appears to be modest about what she achieves, but she seems to be willing to go to some pretty great amounts to achieve more, because really, she loves the praise and she wants to be showered in more. It helps a lot with her self-esteem.

It should also be noted that sometimes Shorebreaker can be a little...selfish and manipulative. A majority of the time is just so she could improve her own confidence in herself and to try and give dragons a better view of her. Sometimes Shorebreaker will manipulate you to getting yourself into trouble and then she'll come along and play the hero.

She can also be quite callous and has a bit of a blind spot when it comes to family and friends. Shorebreaker is a little insensitive with her words and she's prone to pushing other dragons away in favor of work and making promises to dragons that she doesn't really keep. If she were to be invited to a party and she's doing work, she'll decline and continue with her work.

However, while she does still do her work, sometimes when she's tired just enough, Shorebreaker's mind wanders off to fantasies of an ideal life. This is more of a leftover habit from her childhood where her mind wandering off to other places was much more common before she gained more mental focus, but it still happens from time to time.

So, yes, Shorebreaker has a lot of flaws, but now we can focus more on her good points. As stated before, she's well put-together, organized, responsible, and neat. She has her priorities in order most of the time (if not always) and Shorebreaker can get her work done efficiently, though not exactly quickly, as she takes things slow to make sure that everything is juuusst right. Shorebreaker is hardly ever messy and the only time that would happen is if she was in a rush.

The SeaWing also tries to act as a voice of reason among her more impulsive peers whenever she needs to be (with varying levels of success), so she has pretty good initiative. While she'd much rather have someone else take the reigns, she'll be the one who'll do it when she needs to.

She also proved herself to be quite sympathetic. Sympathy's a weak spot of hers. Shorebreaker is sensitive and has very delicate feelings, but she knows when to push that away in favor of another dragon who needs the love and encouragement more than she does.

overview ⇥ Early on, Cardinal might come off as being selfish, arrogant, rebellious, and pompous, as well as egotistical. This is the first impression that she gives off to most dragons upon their initial meeting, but Cardinal can warm up to a surprising degree after you manage to become her friend.

She's loyal to her friends and would do anything to help them out whenever they need help and if there's actually anything she can do to help them. She cares about her friends and family a lot and has a strong loyalty to them and once you get her to be your friend, there's a small chance that she'll turn on you.

Cardinal is extremely stubborn, determined, and hot-tempered. She doesn't ever give up on anything until she's left with no options but to abandon it, and she hates it whenever she has to resort to that. She is persistent and hardly anything could convince her to do anything opposite of what she wants to do. If necessary, she manipulates other dragons if it's required or it's helpful. She holds very strong grudges too, so she's brutally unforgiving.

Despite the fact that Cardinal can seem a little bit callous or manipulative towards other dragons, she's still compassionate and caring in general. She believes in justice for every dragon and that every dragon also has to at least have someone to help them through if they're having a hard time. Cardinal tries to be as helpful and nice as she could be.

Cardinal is prideful, confident, and competitive. She will most definitely take on a challenge when you dare her to and she's also just a little bit too prideful to admit to how she really feels. Cardinal is actually quite sensitive emotionally, but she doesn't ever want to admit to being hurt in any way at all, so she considers her pride and reputation more important than her health and feelings.

Cardinal is a little bit 'explosive' and 'fiery' for the most part. Loud, booming, competitive. Kind, Caring, Amicable, Optimistic
overview ⇥ Muskrat is a very loyal and dedicated MudWing who also seems to be amicable, outgoing, and overall just have a rather happy-go-lucky and very approachable attitude towards life and other dragons. While a few dragons might not appreciate it, Muskrat believes that when times get dark, there at least has to be someone making someone else feel good and hopeful.

He is known to be kindhearted and compassionate towards other dragons and he's courteous as well, no matter who it is. The MudWing is friendly towards almost every single dragon he meets, rarely ever holds grudges, and is very non-discrimitory. Muskrat also shows himself to believe that everyone deserves second chances.

This Mudwing is also resourceful and a quick thinker most of the time. Somehow, he almost always manages to find a clever and efficient way to get out of difficult situations. He is also rather optimistic and he has absolute and complete confidence in himself, in contrast to other dragons.

As said before, he is very loyal and dedicated. No matter the situation, he would always go out of his way to help out his siblings and other dragons and he would usually try to avoid resorting to violence when he knows that a fight could be avoided, but he would not be afraid to fight if he needs to.

Being the Bigwings of the group, Muskrat is instinctively protective of his friends. Muskrat is the one friend and/or father who coddles the dragons he cares about while setting down a ton of rules and regulations and being rather restricting at times. Sometimes, Muskrat worries just a little bit too much.

However, despite his happy, positive, and somewhat laid-back attitude, he isn't quite as he seems. Deep down, he's worried. He's fearful. While his immersive protectiveness towards those he cares about may seem comical at first, it's no joke to Muskrat.

Kind, naive, energetic, overemotional
overview ⇥ Jabiru is a usually kind RainWing dragon who is always willing to help every other dragon when they need his help and if there's actually a way for him to help (even though he'd probably try to assist anyway). Jabiru likes to feel useful and be seen as the kind dragon who's willing to help out everyone else, but he's genuine and hardly ever does it for a reward (though he can't deny that a reward would still be greatly appreciated).

The RainWing is quite overemotional. He has feelings that are too easily excited, hurt, etc. and they are displayed for the public to see, and this is not only because of the natural unique RainWing characteristic where 'their emotions are splattered all over their scales' for every dragon to see.

Jabiru has a strong curiosity for almost everything that he finds remotely interesting. This causes him to be more active and energetic than some other RainWings are. However, his curiosity can lead him to big trouble sometimes, depending on what it is exactly that he's interested in.

Despite the fact that RainWings seem to be serene as peaceful most of the time, Jabiru seems to be a little bit keen on...violence. This is probably because he's more naive than other dragons and thinks that violence proves who 'strong' or 'tough' or 'courageous' a dragon is rather than how aggressive and bloodthirsty they are. ("Wow! Does that mean I get to do a violence?")

He is also quite...naive, oblivious, and air headed. This is mostly because of the way the RainWing social structure is built, so Jabiru has limited knowledge of other tribes and other information that might seem very basic to other dragons, so it probably does take some patience to deal with him.

However, sometimes Jabiru could have a 'burst of genius' where all of a sudden he seems quite intelligent. This happens rarely and only for a few seconds, but sometimes Jabiru could solve something in perfect detail to where his 'stupidity' and 'naivety' is questioned...before he goes right back to being oblivious and air headed, forgetting what he said only moments before.
