[justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 420px; color: darkgrey;][sub]Am I the only one who feels the need to buy powers? Personally, I like playing a character with no powers or a couple minor powers, but then when it comes to battles and fighting, my character hasn't a chance because everyone has loads of powers and huge mythical bodies. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer when powers were more valued and expensive, a luxury you had to work hard for. Now powers are so easy to get and the realism rules are very, very relaxed. I'm complaining a little bit, though please understand that I still enjoy roleplaying regardless and despite this, powers and unusual bodies can be fun and I do not mean to offend anyone owo I just wanna know if I'm the only one? :0
Am I the only one?

[fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:400px;font-family:arial;text-align:justify;line-height:13px;]i do think that people have the need to buy powers as I'm one of thiose people who do this, so heh.. Back when my sis role played here, I remember her working for months to get a tiger, and then once she got it she was so proud, but this she completely lost muse for the character, so I actually think that having he prices lower and the realism more relaxed is actually quite a good thing, as it leaves more possibilities for character development open c:

[justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 420px; color: darkgrey;][sub]That's true, Danny, though a year or two ago I remember working hard to earn enough for a griffin body, and since getting the body I actually got a whole lot more muse for my character. I think that when there are stricter realism rules and expensive bodies/powers, it's actually more of a challenge and it's more fun to roleplay. That's just me though. I like having to work for things, where as now doing everything is so easy. I miss feeling special and proud for owning a tiger or griffon or having a cool power.

oh i agree with youidk, it doesn't seem as...hm, special a thing, to have powers? it's almost as if it's expected, and it's not really op when just about everyone has powers.
but i also agree with what danny said. when everything was expensive, i felt like once i bought it, i HAD to use it (I'm like that irl) so i was kinda forcing myself to do stuff i wasn't too keen on.
now i don't play powers unless they're really necessary for a character (like assassin gieve) or their development (like sousuke after his deal with rumplestiltskin).

[fancypost borderwidth=0;font-size:8pt; text-align:justify; line-height:125%; width:380px; margin-top: -5px;]ahh, actually, i really don't get my characters many powers - if anything, they just hold the easy, simple ones, like the free powers and/or shapeshifting
when i do use other powers, i use them more for development rather than battling, since my characters also dont battle too much since i also often loose battle threads haha
you do have a good point about the feeling that comes when someone has earned something expensive/highly-regarded, though. that was nice.

[fancypost bgcolor=#; border: 0px; width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-size:9pt]I never buy powers. I like it more when my characters can't just turn into a bird and escape a situation. It's more realistic, and it's more fun. I always hate battle threads, though, because it's always like "Joe conjured up some invisible rocks and shot them in Billycat's direction." It's hard to be involved in a battle when everyone's got magic on their side.

My current 'main' character is a small domestic that can barely fight her way out of a paper bag, and the only real power she has to her name is telepathy- it's actually pretty fun, having her try to figure out how to get things done without being able to shapeshift or breathe fire or what have you. XD

[justify][fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 420px; color: darkgrey;][sub]I was thinking if enough people wanted the realism rules to be a little stricter and powers/bodies to be more expensive, perhaps I could get a petition going to put that into place? Or for it to be suggested at least. I just really miss the good ol' days around 2012-2013

I like it when my characters suck. Makes them feel more real.
But in all seriousness, I have a character with all powers, but she never uses them. -
