"D*mn," I muttered. My grip tightened a moment after she yanked her arm a little.

I used my bat to block the attempt. "You're one h*ll of a fighter, you know that?" I said, the first wound on my arm completely healed.

I let go of her arm. "That's because not a lot of people have faced as many people to battle as I have, and you did better than most of them." I replied, pulling the knife out with a practiced ease.

I followed her gaze and sighed. "At least your family cares that you went missing," I muttered, "no one here would care if another where to die or disappear." And they'd know why if they kept up on current events.

I tensed up in shock before relaxing into the embrace slightly. I hugged back, still in shock as I hadn't been hugged like this since before 1776, the year America got independence.

"But better than knowing they wouldn't even try to send someone after you." I replied, holding back a bitter tone.

"Depends on current events. I would if they just up and disappeared, but if something happened to England, for say, Oliver would be gone as quickly as he could. Same with Matt and Canada, and Francois and France." I replied.

IC: "Birth country thing," I said at her look.

I rolled my eyes playfully. "I get it from Francois, then." A knock interrupted me from continuing, "Al! Open up!"

I walked to the door, unlocking it. "Forget the key, Matt?" I asked, teasingly. "Shut up." He rolled his eyes.
