    Stonebrook. It's a small town, located somewhere in Virginia's thick wilderness, full of forests and mountains and animals. It's overlooked by most people, because I mean, what could a little town possible withhold? Well, if you've ever seen any movie known to man, or read any book, most little towns have little secrets. Stonebrook is definitely not an exception either This town has secrets, its own history of tragedies that could possibly beat some of the great Shakespeare tragedies.
    Stonebrook has a bit of a tragic history, along with some pretty weird things to say the least, things that if it were to get out, we probably wouldn't get as much tourism for the reason why we get it now. With a history full of death, heartbreak, sin, and just utter horror, the fact that the whole entire town hasn't burned yet for the sin is just beyond me. There's been massacres, sacrifices, murders, oh there's been more but I just simply cannot name them all.
    On top of tragedy, the town has some other interesting folk living here. Interesting folk when it comes to the supernatural side of things, to where some of them have fangs stained with fresh crimson, others have scaly tails that glisten in the water. Some of them even have eyes as black as onyx and lurk within the shadows of the town, spawns from hell itself. But, my dear, I'm sure you already knew that part.     stonebrook is a town that lies within the state of virginia, that has some secrets that are hidden beneath the surface, secrets that are deadly and gruesome. the town was built on history of murders, massacres, sacrifice, disappearance, and just death. some say that the town has been cursed by satan himself, saying that satan was here when it was founded and it kissed the town with a kiss of death, cursing it to forever be a town where it seems as if everything bad that could happen, would happen.
    ontop of all of the history though, you have the things lurking within the town. most would say that these are just stories, myths told into the head of children to stop them from wandering out in the forest for too long, saying that the monsters in the forest would get them but in the end it wasn't a myth. the monsters in the forest do exist, but they dont just live in the forest. they live everywhere. and when you look around at all of the people on the street, just remember, nothing is as it seems, and when you're alone in the forest at night, remember, the night has teeth.

    ooc rules.
    - all feralfront rules apply, of course.
    - absolutely no ooc drama. i want this roleplay to be a place where people can go and get away from the troubles of life, but if people are being rude and even possibly bullying the person, that's definitely not okay. if you're caught doing this then you will be blocked and kicked from the group, no questions asked.
    - don't be cliquey, meaning don't only talk to the same few people. interactions with others is what makes the roleplay interesting, and if you only interact to a few people then it really won't get more interesting.
    - this roleplay is not a teen drama, please don't make it all about romance. don't get me wrong, i love romance, i love romance drama, it's good. too much of it is not good though, and it can really turn into a drag.
    - please keep the genders even. im not going to require everyone to make a ton of characters to keep the genders even but if i need to then i will go ahead and do that.
    - you can really have as many characters as you want, i know that there's a ton of species here for you to pick from and i mean as long as you're like active on them, then we're good.
    - while tragic pasts are allowed, you can't have it to the point of being like way to tragic like their parents died then she got bullied then her best friend tried to kill her then her brother went insane and just like no, hun.
    - if your character has a triggering past, please put it ahead in their history with a trigger warning that lets us know so that no one gets triggered, or just put it in a spoiler.
    - dont kill anyone without their permission and BEFORE you kill anyone please run it by me. i don't want to have a bunch of people just dying in the rp. the only exception this is for would be the vampires for if they end up turning humans, which really you don't need to go and ask me if they can change or not because I personally don't care.

    humans.
    humans are the most normal things located in stonebrook, but that doesn't mean that they're not savages as well. while they might not have any sort of supernatural element like other things, they're the most populated out of everyone in stonebrook and have the most blood on their own hands when it comes to the death of the others in the town. they have hunters on their side, hunters who will ruthlessly massacre the other species because in their eyes they're simply monsters. some humans don't think like this though, and others don't even know about the others in the town.




    demons.
    demons are typically people who are seen to of been possessed by an ungodly force that is now controlling them, but that's not always the case. some of them have manifested their own bodies and haven't taken over someone elses. while they're typically mischief and trouble often follows them, some of them aren't entirely bad.




    mermaids.
    mermaids are the people in the town who can have a fish tale in water but legs on land. they can control whether or not they turn into the mermaid form or not, and its not like if they touch water that they'll immediately turn into a mermaid. they're typically spotted at the lake in-town at night, due to the town not being really near any ocean or anything and the lake itself being huge enough for them to swim.




    vampires.
    vampires are, of course the creatures known for being immortal and drinking blood. the vampires in stonebrook group together in a coven, living together like a family for the most part. their leader is the oldest living vampire in the compound, that being Maria Elliot, who's been alive since 1873, and was turned when she was thirty-nine years old. the vampires live up in an old manor that's located in the forest, and typically don't ever really leave due to them being very sensitive in the sun, but they will leave at night and when its cloudy. some vampires in the town don't live in the old manor though and live on their own, but there's only a few of them.




    werewolves.
    werewolves are of course the people in the town who shape shift into wolves. they do have control of when they shift though, and can shift on command now rather than it happening randomly on a full moon. full moons still do have effects on their bodies, with them being a bit more aggressive than usual. werewolves can typically communicate and in a way understand their inner wolf, rather than having no clue about it. most of the werewolves live together in a house on the east side of the town, or at least hang out there together. some of the werewolves don't live together of course, and are simply loners. the werewolves are led by Joseph Blackwell and Angela Blackwell, the alpha male and female of the pack. the werewolves are also the ones who are typically hunted the most, due to their coats when they're in wolf-form being highly expensive and divine, and sold as fur-coats in the town that the rich will by.




    witches.
    witches are the ones who can do all of the magic in the town. the witches don't exactly live together, but they do hang out with each other in a coven, not to be confused with the coven the vampires have. not all of the witches are bad, in fact most of them are good but most of the time if they're caught doing magic by the hunters they'll be ridiculed and hunted.

    this section only applies to the witches, vampires, and werewolves, seeing as the demons and mermaids don't have a specific group and in common folklore they don't have a specific group like witches, vampires, and werewolves do. while you cannot play as the leader of the groups, you can play as the successors to the leaders, aka the children of the leaders and such, or even i guess the things they've adopted. if you wish for me to change the name or last name of a leader of a group because you wish to be the successor, just ask me. you have the ability to do whatever you want with the leaders, in terms of how they treat your character so if you want to have some jerky parents go ahead i don't mind. when it comes to the successors of the other ranks like betas and advisors, those are just who are actually just like, apprentices to the ranks and would take over the positions if something were to happen to it's current holder, such as death or if they just don't feel like doing it anymore.

    you'll find that arrogance is the dominating trait in joshua's personality. he's under the impression that he's got the world under his thumb, which can be true at some times. joshua knows quite a bit, and that just adds fuel to the fire.
    he's cunning, in addition to arrogant. joshua doesn't have his head stuck up his butt too much (well, not enough to cloud his sight) compared to other demons. he's very perceptive of things around him, trained to find exits and objects to use to his advantage. he can figure out a lot about a person by observing them, occasionally enough to figure out their fatal flaw, which he'll use for his own personal works.
    joshua is very short-tempered, losing his crap at almost..everything that even slightly bothers him. he's not a violent demon (well, compared to most), so he tends to smolder, letting his feelings bubble up. though he's not violent, he's very aggressive, not afraid to tell the world who's boss around here. his world plan for dominance isn't a fully realized goal, but he sure likes thinking about it.

    shockingly, hell wasn't all that people put it up to be. everybody moaned and complained that hell was overheated and filled with sinners on earth, but it really wasn't all that. honestly, oblitus felt like purgatory was worse. at least in hell, you knew what you were dealing with. the bad boys hung out here, in a grey landscape that certainly wasn't hot. more of a uncomfortable cold, actually, if the demon thought about it.




    ugh, he was getting off-topic. he hated that. oblitus prided himself on being aware of his surroundings, to be the one--




    again, there it was. what was with him today? annoyance shot through the demon like blood pumping through his veins, his pure black eyes narrowing. there was something..not right going on. oblitus could feel it. like a pull, almost. he couldn't stay focused, and his cold grey bedroom wall that faced him seemed to twist and turn..somehow.




    "odi." oblitus called, looking towards his open door, waiting for his half-brother to appear. they shared the same father, that was all. there was no brotherly love between them. in fact, oblitus was odi's overseer. oblitus hated to brag (okay, that was some major bs there) but he was actually a prominent demon. perhaps it was the age, maybe it was the ambition. but somehow, oblitus was well-known. and that certainly didn't help his big head.




    the younger demon appeared at his door, his similarly pure black eyes staring at the older demon expressionlessly. odi was only a few hundred years old (something oblitus made sure odi remembered), their father had a tendency to sire demons few and far in-between. there was only one other demon between oblitus and odi, from a different mother.




    "odi.." oblitus repeated, licking his lips as he thought of what to say. "i need you to-" the demon cut off his words suddenly, hands racing towards his chest as he crumpled in on himself (which was uncomfortable, considering he was still dressed in black chain mail from his training session a few hours previously). oblitus hissed through his teeth as the pain intensified, perhaps an attempted command to odi to get help. but oblitus knew what was going on. as much as he hated it, he was being summoned.




    who summoned demons at this time anyways?




    spitting a string of latin from his teeth, oblitus pounded his fist against the floor, before he finally felt nothingness. traveling between hell and earth was an odd feeling, a feeling of peace. almost comfort. oblitus hated it.




    and then, concrete. the smell of gasoline. honking of cars outside. ugh, earth. a planet that was slowly getting killed by the people that walked it. oblitus often dreamed of taking the world for himself, to make it beautiful and wild again. but that would never happen, oblitus had already taken that up with a higher power to no avail.




    opening his eyes, oblitus found himself standing on the remains of a pentagram and a old book. somebody had gotten curious. cracking his neck, oblitius blinked once, his pure black demon eyes smoothly changing to a regular human green. joshua addams was what oblitus called himself on earth, a nice mixture of biblical names that just seemed so ironic to give to a demon.




    glancing down at his full-body chain mail armor, the newly renamed joshua addams curled his lip. he'd have to change that soon. now, down to business. "qui audet pro me audet testimonium??" he spat out, his ragged voice slowly stopped sounding like multiple people were speaking at once as he got used to looking and feeling human. words couldn't describe how much he hated this horrible excuse of a planet. "wait, english, sorry. who dares to summon me?" joshua added, realizing his error. almost nobody spoke latin, though lots of people spoke english.

    alexander had been born in the 1900's, and had been put up for adoption shortly after he was born due to his parents not being able to afford him. he was sent from orphanage to orphanage until he finally got to the one in stonebrook, when a women by the name of maria elliot adopted him. he lived with her up until what would be his death and rebirth as a vampire. he had been working at a speakeasy at the time, being the bartender since alcohol had been prohibited, and eventually the cops found it and there had been a shoot out, where alexander had been the one to get shot. he had been taken to the hospital where maria visited him and since conditions seemed to be dire and there was almost no other choice, she ended up biting him. he woke up three days later in his room with his pulse no longer present and his skin now ice cold. he has always thanked maria for this, and trusts her completely after that event. ever since then he's been a part of her coven and had even become the successor to the head vampire, seeing as maria had been his adoptive mother.

    Throughout her childhood, Clarice always knew things about people that others didn't. such as if they had gotten a promotion, they were cheating on their partner, or if they had some kind of illness. She was a curious kid, and had an even less of a word-filter than now, so she would ask rather inappropriate questions about what she saw from people. She was 16 when she learned that she was a witch, and that the quirks of her childhood was just her developing her magic. She had learned this from her grandmother, who was also a witch. She moved in with her grandmother and began her studies as a witch under the teachings of her grandmother. When she died when Clarice had turned 18, she moved away from her home town. She seemed to be drawn to Stonebrook and its beautiful forests, so there she now stays.

    "Two shavings of hazelnut," Clarice mumbled. She stood, hunched over a a small, simmering, clay pot. Her wild locks were tied back haphazardly, a few wayward strands falling into her face. Her hands were even and steady as she followed exactly as the instructions in front of her said. She was muttering quiet commentary under her breath to herself as she danced around her various shelves, grabbing different vials and pouches of some rather questionable items. Her cat, Dogface, laid on the edge of the table, watching her with lidded eyes as she added in measurements of stuff into the concoction she was brewing up. "And..." she drew out, slowly tipping over a small, glass vial of a light blue liquid. She tipped it as carefully as possible, drawing out a single drop. As soon as the blue substance dropped into the mixture, a plume of hot pink smoke burst skyward from the small pot, blinding Clarice. She coughed and waved her hand in front of her face, trying to clear the air of the foul smelling pink. Spitting out some of the taste, she managed to break up the smoke, revealing her creation: a daisy with white petals and a healthy looking, green stem and leaves. The only odd thing, however, was the single eyeball in the middle of the petals looking up at Clarice. Her shoulders slumped as it blinked at her. "Danggit! Not again!"

    A feminine figure emerged in the occupied, broad clearing that made up a part of the gathering area. She had thick, long dark hair that could be described as the color of ditch water. It tangled down in loose, wavy locks and parted away at the extent of her elbows. It was separated into a choppy cut of layers and bangs that swept messily across one side of her forehead and her left temple. The shorter layers of hair curved around the frame of her face slightly ceased just along her jawline. She had almost cat like, somber, large grey eyes that had hints of blue that could be revealed within the iris in speckles and a thin lip shape. She had a well defined face; therefore she wasn't exactly considered to have a "baby" face. She had a pale complexion hinting that she most likely didn't get too much sunlight. She had a slender build to her structure. Her limbs were very thin, delicate and her waist was of fair size as well as her bust and hips.




    The dark haired female wore a wine red, hooded cloak that was pulled over her delicate shoulders and draped down to where it brushed against the surface of the ground. It was engraved with a unique, unsymbolic pattern that appeared to be of a slightly lighter shade of the actual cloak and was made of a velvety material. She was wearing a rather simply outfit underneath the silky cloak. A simple white t-shirt which was either long sleeved or short sleeved, black jeans that gripped her figure tightly, and leather like combat appearing boots was in fact the exact thing she was wearing. Around one of her dainty fingers was a silver ring with a red gem that topped it. Her over all appearance made her appear rather ageless and rather mysterious.




    Her name was Maribel which was defined as "bitter" or "sour". It had never bother the feminine creature much and most others were uninformed of it anyways. It wasn't very often someone would point that fact out to her. As for her middle and last name, well, those were to be unknown to others and surprisingly to her. She had never been given such names as it really wasn't necessary in her case.




    The lush grass and items that was scattered over the terrain that surrounded her, crunched under her boots. The snow that fell lightly over the clearing had dampened her dark hair making it appear a few tones dark to the eye. Her arms were still at her sides and her dull, grayish opals scintillated over the features of the uncharted place and creatures among her. There seemed to be no trace of any type of emotion in her eyes and her lips were pressed closed, not revealing anything as well. Her presence gave off an unsettling vibe.

    born to a mermaid whose manipulative tendencies classified her as more of a siren, and her favorite victim, a young man who lived near the lake, luna's family experience growing up was...complicated. her parents were never married, never in an official "relationship", though her mother did have some form of feeling for her father that could almost be called "love". she spent her childhood in and out of the water, receiving swimming lessons and tutorials on life from her cold-hearted mother, and then being corrected on those lessons by her warm-spirited father on land. she grew up half under a stern, merciless hand and half in a kind, gentle embrace, and when she was old enough to be free from the confusion, she found herself preferring to spend most of her time alone (though she must admit she had a preference for her father). her history has been shaped by important though seemingly random and inconsequential events and awakenings---specifically, the mysterious death of her mother, with whom she had a close but not very loving relationship. lunetta did grieve, but it was the quiet kind, the thoughtful kind, the kind that turned her reflections inward and did not change much of her outward behavior.

    ∘HISTORY∘
    Clarke was born from a werewolf and a human; mother and father. His mother was killed by hunters when he was at a young age so his father took the only logical step and tried to find a werewolf pack in the area. His father, now having abandoned him to the Blackwell Alphas left him to an enriching life in a true werewolf pack. When he was in his mid-teen years he had stayed in the town for a few months as a growing experience, of course asking for permission from the Alphas, wanting to prove himself. He got together with a human girl after two weeks of being there and has an unknown child.




    All Clarke has of his parents is a picture of them the day he was born. He used to feel hatred for his father, but now only feels acceptance ever since he matured some more after realizing he would be the Alpha's Successor.

    Jake wandered around the perimeter of the jail, hands in the pockets of his leather pants. He always took first shift of the day, getting up right before sunrise. He always preferred the cool dewiness of the morning. He constantly kept his neckerchief up around his nose and mouth when patrolling. He also kept his beanie covering the tips of his ears; they always got red as the cool morning air nipped at them when he ran around the jail.
    Jake cracked his neck, turning his head from side to side. The morning was also a bit boring. He leaned up again a tree near the entrance, taking out his 8" Ka-Bar Combat Knife.
    There were some permanent blood stains of the metal and handle of it. It made him feel stronger in a way; he fought through hell, yet still made it out. He twirled the knife between his fingers for a while before growing bored and placing the knife back into its sheath. He replaced the metal object in his hands for a cigarette. He opened up his leather jacket, grabbing a lighter out of his inner chest pocket and lighting the deadly object. He inhaled a big puff of smoke, feeling it fill up his lungs. It felt relaxing for him, almost therapeutic.

    ∘HISTORY∘
    She was born in the near end of the Victorian Era, in 1892 to be exact. She lived a rich life. Her parents were some of the richest in London at the time. She, however wanted to move out once she was old enough. After that her life was pretty normal until she was twenty one and her apartment building got burned to the ground, her being the only survivor. The guilt still eats her away, as she feels it is her fault, that she could've rescued some people. Not soon after that was she turned a vampire. She was turned and then left in an alley. She didn't really have a guide to show her what to do or how to survive while being a vampire, she figured that much out for herself. She spent most her younger days exploring the world, but now lives in the vampire coven in Stonebrook.

    I re position my beanie as I walk into school. Immediately people were waving and saying hi to me. I was use to it and all, I mean, people called me 'one of the most popular girls in school' and I have no f*cking idea why. I bite my lip and smile back, giving a few waves. Boys winked and wolf whistled, and I just rolled my eyes. I reached my locker, watching our overly peppy co-lead cheerleader, Michelle, skip by me. Probably off to greet some new kid. When no one was looking I rolled my eyes.




    I place my backpack in my locker, and sigh. I put my fake glasses on. They looked like large nerdy glasses, they just had the lenses popped out. They were 'cute', I had been told. I smile sligtly at my reflection, grabbing my books and closing my locker. You see, I wasn't the kind of girl who told people she didn't think she was pretty just to be told she wasn't. I thought I was decent, not pretty. Not beautiful. Not...jaw dropping. Just, decent. And I was okay with that. Yes, I have my moments where I think I'm the ugliest person to ever walk the earth, but all girls do. I walk on, my converse hitting the school floors, unheard through all the mindless chatter. My best friend was out of school, she was on some vacation. The lucky little b.tch. I think with a small smirk.




    I enter my first class, Science, and smile and say 'hi' and 'hey' to some people. I sit in my assigned seat, in the back corner of the classroom, and put my books under my chair. I started to get out the supplies listed on the board. No one sat by me, and I was perfectly fine with that. That meant no distractions, and more space! I bite my lip, a habit of mine, and place cylinders and a burner on the table. We were doing some chemical experiment today. I then lay my notes from the day before out, next to me. I was unaware that someone would be sitting by me. Someone who would bring trouble.




    We still had about seven minutes until class started. I was lucky and got here early today. I rode my penny board to school, like I did every warm and non-snowy/rainy day. School was going to be out in about a month and maybe two weeks, maybe less, maybe more. I didn't really know, nor care. I had everything set up, with five minutes to spare. So I pulled out my phone, and listened to Happy Little Pill by Troye Sivan. I hum softly along, eyes focused on the window. I didn't hear the bell ring, or someone sit next to me. I was zoned out completely.
