• Chillborn was silent. However, this was an unsettling trait with the current status of the world. It's been night for what is suppose to be 2 weeks. Most have lost track of exact time, but some have been obsessed with figuring out what was wrong. Many guessed something happened Kolt, the guardian of light, while some believed that Nyltyx was trying something. However, neither of these ideas were correct. And neither of these mattered at the moment for the village of Chillborn, because there was a more immediate threat.
The eerie silence was the first deathly symptom that the town was about to suffer a deadly sickness.
    Shades.
The shadow-like creatures were not tied down to one shape. They took whatever form they found fit to fill their victims with fear, and suck their soul from their scared bodies. They were merciless creatures that have only recently gotten so violent and strong, thanks to darkness being an ongoing theme to the world. They usually only prey on those alone and weak, and this was their first full fledged attack on a village. However, there were a handful of people in this village that these creatures didn't account for.

The first screech of the night was heard across town from the Inn that the male Shifter was residing in. With a smirk, the man rose to his feet and started towards the door. However, before he could be called out by the Inn owner, Belle-something, he tossed a small bag of coins on the table where the last of his drink remained. "Keep whatever runs over the tab, Miss", these creatures were the reason he had shown up to this town. He was set on hunting these down for some sport, and maybe seeing if he could get some positive recognition around here. Maybe get paid in some way.
As he stepped outside, he could already feel the tension in the crisp night air. Movement caught his eye, and his gaze shifted full down the road. He was being rushed by something, something with the intent to kill.

His arm shot to the staff on his back, and reversed the movement, bring the pole from behind the man t in front of him. The timing was perfect, slamming the wood onto the concentration of darkness and fear. With he same downward force, he lifted himself forward, performing a front flip. The creature shattered into nothing, and the pole stuck upright in the ground. The man had changed from normal appearance, and seemed to have sprouted something short of a monkey tail and ears shifting to monkey ears. He also had gotten almost furry,"alright, I know your hunt just started, but I'm not here for monkey business." He started his onslaught of puns directed at the creatures, even if he was heard by no one that would laugh about them.

And if you're confused on how to start, we'll just sorta get a feel for how our characters powers work through fighting these things, and then we'll all eventually meet in the same place. Hmm... I was thinking some sort of building where they all end up for different reasons....

Lanterns with melted candle wax were placed sporadically around the sturdy building, as if it were a way for travelling sailors to find a lighthouse in a deep, vast ocean. The inn had a comfortable appearance, similar to a cottage; it was large, but it wasn't ginormous and swallowed everything. unlike Belle - sorry, Belle A scarlet-colored door protruded from the rest of the building, easily inviting the eye of weary adventurers to glance at it. Belle had painted it this color on purpose. Red was an attractive color, and she knew potential customers' curiosities would win the best of them.

If one would actually pull the handle of the door, they could enter and Belle would be waiting for them at the counter, her legs crossed and a smile on her face. "Welcome home, dear," she would say as if she knew them. They would either ask for service or a room, and she would gladly do so for them.

But, service was slow for the Scarlett Door (the inn).

Even if she was straight, at this point, Belle would consider tempting one of the females who resided in the actual inn. She could probably get away with it, too. homosexuality and bisexuality weren't exactly popular or praised back then She adjusted her dress and pinned her hair up, biting her lip. Which one, though? The inn owner licked her lips in desire as she glanced at the keyboard behind her. Keys that were missing indicated a guest checking in. Of course, they weren't in all the time, but for the most part, she... Ooh! A blonde! I heard they have fun~!

She walked down the hall and into the kitchen, where there was a metal tray she could use. She placed a random bottle of who-knows-what wishy isn't that enlightened about the medieval era. it's been 3 years on it, then walked out, making her way downtown to the room she had selected.

Belle balanced the plate on her other hand and knocked on the door.

    No answer.

She sighed and pursed her lips, then sulked back to the counter. Attempt number one - fail.

The woman heard a loud screech, as if a crow and a cat got ran over by a horse at the same time. Belle stood up immediately and straightened her outfit.

A gentleman had rushed across, throwing a bag of coins at her. She threw them behind the counter before snatching her umbrella and grabbing a knife from her leg garter. She waved at the man and chased behind him, yelling, "Wait for me, dearie!"

Belle had lost the man in the darkness, but had soon - Is that a monkey? A confused expression formed on her perplexed face. She shook her head and ran over to the man, who was now a monkey, and glanced at it and what it seemed to be fighting.

The creatures held no mercy for her, and so Belle slid out a few daggers and began slicing the beings.

  • Ryia stood at the entrance of her building, dressed in a white flowing dress, that was laced in black. Her white hair (also laced in black) was cut recently, making it beautiful and reaching her shoulders slightly. The lady stood there looking out of the building, her eyes watching and her ears ever listening for the sound she thought she had heard. Now the building that Ryia stood at was a mixture of many buildings, it was both a church, a monastery and a hospital all at once. It was a safe place, and the shades that so often seemed to be attacking Chillborn seemed to stay near this building, but never did they enter.

Ryia believed it was an act of God, that because of his holiness they wouldn't come in. It was helpful to say the least, as it gave sanctuary to the wounded and sick, and to any monk or traveller who needed rest or sanctification. But this didn't mean that Shades didn't attack the exterior of this building. So often Ryia would have to fix the gardens and fix the exterior of the buildings. But it was all for the good of the people. She closed her eyes and listened.

There it was again, the silent whisper of a Shade moving in the night. Ryia's black eyes narrowed and her grip tightened on her staff. "God protect us." She murmured as she closed the doors of the building, but staying outside, she lit the lamps that had been blown out and waited patiently for the Shade to arrive. But she didn't have to wait long, in a mere half minute she could hear the un-earthly growl from the Shade, which now took the shape of a wolf, or something similar.

Ryia readied herself, she didn't fight, but she would protect the building and the wounded and sick which resided in it that night. The first spell she cast was a bright light, that illuminated the surroundings of about 2 yards around in a circle type shape. That way she could see the Shade coming. That's when it attacked, leaping at her with jaws gaping and it's shadowy eyes only seeming to bear death. Ryia quickly erected a shield around herself, and the Shade was knocked down. She took a breath and straightened her dress before she cast a bolt of heat towards the Shade, causing it to almost dissipate, before re-emerging again.

  • There he sat, impatiently awaiting the arrival of his target, in small tree grove just outside the village. On the largest branch he could find he leaned his back against the trunk and sighed, "Where is he? There is no reason he shouldn't be here. All of the information I gathered led me to hear so why has he not shown?" He mumbled to himself in great frustration. He lifted his right hand to remove his charcoal black hair from his eyes, "My information is never wrong, but he should be here by now." He growled as he swung his right hand to take his anger out on the tree. His fist missed and the momentum of the swing pulled him off of the branch he once sat on, "Woah!" He exclaimed as he caught the branch with his left hand and, with cat like reflexes, wrapped his legs around the branch making so he hung upside down like a sloth that had been dropped on its head as a child. He face turned red as the blood rushed to his head in embarrassment. He shook his head and couldn't help but smirk as he thought about his sister and what she would say, "Sairen be careful! You are so clumsy sometimes honestly, if I'm the younger sibling why is it I'm always having to watch you?" He imagined it so well is was almost as if he could actually hear her voice. He reached upward into one of his various pouches and pulled out a rather realistic sketch of her that he had done on some parchment with some charcoal. He smiled as a single tear ran up his face and into his hair. But the moment was ruined by some rustling in the shrubbery down below.

"You know you aren't very subtle." A voice called up to him. Sairen looked down, which at this point was upward from his perspective, to be face to face with an elderly man. Surprised, Sairen yelped and accidentally let go of the branch, face planting the ground. "I know I'm old but i figured they would at least send someone competent to come assassinate me." The old man wheezed. Sairen pushed himself off the ground and dusted himself off, "I take it you know who i am then." Sairen said calmly. The old man examined him up and down and then shook his head, "Can't say i do young man. But are you alright? that was quite a fall?" The man replied. Sairen grunted angrily, he had worked hard for his title and notoriety, "Does the name Sairen mean anything to you?" He asked to old man. The elderly man began to laugh, which became a phlegm infested cough and wheezing, "My boy you can't be Sairen, He's the most notorious assassin there is, a man like that wouldn't yell while hiding and fall out of a tree." Sairen winced in pain, his pride was shot, "Just shut up, I'm not here to kill you anyway, I'm here for information, they want to know where your son is, He's caused us a great deal of trouble." Sairen explained in a harsh demanding tone. The old man shrugged, "Haven't seen him in ages, if you do find him, i heed caution, i would also tell your superiors to send the REAL Sairen that boy is not someone to mess around with." Sairen grew angry and impatient, "Very well." Sairen turned and began walking away. After about two or three steps he stopped, "By the way old man, do you know why no one has seen Sairen or knows what he looks like?" Sairen asked. The old man scratched is head, pondering the question, "I guess he's good at what he does." The man replied. Sairen reached his right hand into one of his pouches, then peered over his shoulder with a large smirk on his face, "Not quite." Sairen said. Then with no time wasted, and no hesitation, as Sairen turned toward the old man, pulled out a throwing knife, with almost inhuman quickness, and threw it. The old man fell to the ground. "Many say he's a man without rules but the truth is he has one.. No survivors." Sairen said as he retrieved his knife and walked away.

Before Sairen could make it out of the grove and back into the village something caught him off guard as it lunged out of the bushes and left a gash in his left arm. Sairen grunted in pain and fell to the ground, as he looked up there it was, a shade. It took the form of something close to human, with shadowy misshapen blades as its arms. Sairen stood up and took a defensive fighting stance, with one arm incapacitated he grinned, "I hope my superiors know this will cost extra." He said as he pulled out four throwing knives with strange charms hung on the hilts and placed one in each gap between his fingers, "Let us go then!" He yelled in excitement. The shade lunged with a ferocious demonic screech.

For all things considered, the Shades were simply overly-complex nuisances for the Alchemist. They were the type of creatures that were especially resilient to his various toxins and venoms, meaning he was essentially just firing regular crossbow bolts into nightmarish shadow creatures.

"This is fine! The invasion is going to HELP me! I get the chance to innovate, allowing me to EXPAND my already expansive collections of poisons! I'll just grab some random elixirs, with a couple of flasks of oil and a box of matches in case everything goes horrible wrong, WHICH IT WON'T!" Vraedys exclaimed to nobody in particular, grabbing random bottles of colourful liquids from various shelves of his 'lair'.

Well, less of a lair, more of a hole with nice decorations, some equipment that look like it came from the trash can of a labratory, and a few shelves to hold whatever unthinkably horrific elixirs he'd thought up over the years. Granted, most of them didn't work, but some of them were VERY potent, to the point where he'd stopped drinking anything bright green because the label of one of his powerful acids came off.

"Alright, I have Experimental Batch Number 7, I have the UPDATED toxins of Experimental Batch Number 6, I have the 'Oh No, nothing works, better create a firebomb' supplies, and I have Plaguebringer!" Vraedys took a few moments to check that he'd gotten all of his essential supplies, before slipping out of the door of his hiding spot, crossbow at the ready. With any luck, the majority of the shades would head towards the centre of the town, and he'd simply get whatever incompetent messes had gotten lost from the pack.

At least, that was what he hoped would happen.

Taking a glance over at the woman he didn't know could fight, he was surprised. Seeing a lady on the battlefield was a refreshing sight. With a cheeky smile he spoke,"careful not to get your dress dirty, m'lady." Pushing himself off his perch, the monkey-man drop to the ground, shifting back to full human. He could feel some welcoming warm feeling nearby and see a light somewhere else in the town. 'Now who would that be?', he wasn't familiar with who was all in town, and feeling such power was a nice change to the ongoing darkness around them. Before he could start on his way to check it out, a similar but larger shade rushed both him and Belle. The man returned this action, charging full force forward. Before he could make contact he jumped forward and shifted.
With that one swift movement, he was no longer a man, but a large silver wolf that let off a light glow. Sorta like Twilight werewolves, but a bit bigger. In his jaws was the shade, hanging by what looked like it's neck, considering it held together where it's red eyes were and center mass. It didn't taste like anything but felt like really thick smoke. Ignoring the odd texture, he bit down fully, causing the creature to dissipate. Now, back to his original train of thought. Now he had no choice but to remain in this form until he had some level of privacy. Still strapped to his back was his staff, and a bag hung over his right side, but that was about all he still had on him. Glancing back at Belle, he spoke, but it was more of an echo and soothing voice than his human voice, and his jaws didn't move to speak,"you work here, any clue where that light would be from?" He wanted to know if it was safe or not, so it's best to ask a local.

    [/fancypost]

In the throne room of the Forgotten Spire, a human figured laid sprawled across the floor, to the side of the broken chair of royalty. With another deathly cough and low growl, the figure forced himself up. He was tired and torn. The look of defeat weighed heavy in his eyes as, despite it clear there was still somewhat of a fight left. With limped across the room to a door on the side, and slammed his way through it. Carrying on his limp, he approached a sundial. Once close enough, he leaned on it, catching his breath,"dammit, Kolt, don't give up on me yet." The light from the moon had faded to just a crescent peering through an open window, casting a small shadow on the sundial,"we're doing the best we can without Udarr. We need him back, but giving up like that isn't going to do us any good." While there was no audible response, he sill growled in anger,"We'll find a way, that's how!"
The being stared into the shadow cast upon the sundial and focused,"they've gotten stronger. They've stopped obeying their master. But I am Nyltyx, Guardian of the Darkness. They will bow to me." Peering into the darkness, he got view of the small town of Chillborn. His eyes shot open after seeing what he did. It wasn't a complete slaughter by these beings. There were still people fighting. That's when an idea hit him. "Yes, Kolt that's exactly what I'm thinking. If these people believe they deserve this world, then they'll fight for it." Despite the phrase being ironic, Nytyx felt a light surge through him of hope. He stood up straight and carried himself back out of the room. "I'm leaving, don't fade quite yet, old friend."

"Well, this isn't even difficult! More of a delightful stroll down the street on a lukewarm summers day!" Vraedys exclaimed, walking down the streets of Chillborn without any kind of issue. He'd clearly made the correct decision setting up shop on the outskirts of the town, since being close to the centre most likely meant that you had some kind of horrific death wish.

The Alchemist fired a bolt at a small, insignificant shade, causing it to briefly dissipate before reforming and skittering into a nearby alleyway. "Well, this is boring now. I may as well find some poor, foolish, helpless survivors and make SOME form of attempt to lead them. After all, fighting isn't fun if you can't see the meat shields get hit." Vraedys mused, pausing to figure out which path would lead him to where he wanted to be, and then following it.

A few moments later, those nearby or with excellent hearing could've heard a string of obscenities being exclaimed, followed by a furious murmur as the apothecary tried to remember which path led where.

  • Ooc: Oh dear, I'm already late.

The heart of darkness managed to cut flow and still the wind's of Chillborn, leaving them like a doctor's hand ready to vaccinate the skin with needles of frost. The streets stood as the victim, alone and in fear of the bitter pain of winter's bite. The wind's of the 9th circle of hell also had their own dogs, the Shades. They roamed the ink of darkness, ready to blotch their sadism on the fools of the night. Tonight, however, a different dominance drove the pack of wolves.

A young lady skipped down the streets unnerved by the frigid air and the cloak of darkness wrapping around her with every step. Vivian hummed a small tune, making her way through a world of black and white, a blotch of an indigo dress painting and thinning across the canvas. The atmosphere spoke as huskily as the monsters watching Vivian, her stroll remained uninterrupted. Though animal instincts lacked common sense, monsters know a dominant creatures when they see one, perhaps better than humans do, for in Vivian's hands was the ephemeral vision of a familiar kin to the Shades.

The Shades the fixed their sights on the victims whom were weak in will and strength, preying on those who could not fend for themselves. The scavengers were deplorable but Vivian saw them as fools, much like those they sought for. The ghost of the Shade shivered in her warm fingers. It attempted suicide off of her hand many times, but right before it hit the ground to escape to sweet rapture, Vivian tethered it back up, as if it were tied to a bungee cord. The constant refusal of death and peace was tantalizing to Vivian, for her misty eyes gleamed in pleasure every time they tried, knowing it was futile.

Vivian's shadow wriggled at her feet, feeling for it's next meal. The web of souls could extend and wrap the town in a net that contained more souls than hell held flames. Though, the reveal of her guise to the world would take away everything Vivian enjoyed in her borrowed lifetime.

  • Ryia kept her calm demeanour as she 'fought' against the shades. To be honest she wasn't fighting, she was defending. She raised her staff as now two of them came from either side to get her, but she slammed her staff into the ground, sending a bolt of light in both directions, causing the Shades to fall back. She neither looked tired nor acted it, and she was as calm as the ocean before a storm. There were now three wolf like shades that circled around her, and Ryia was getting a little tired, and nothing seemed to be working, and nobody seemed to be around.

She took a breath and muttered something, this time pointing her hand at the entrance of the door of the church. An intricate design of light seemed to etch upon the wooden door and it glowed luminously before becoming etched on the door. One of the shades tried to go near it and it was immediately bolted at by some lightning. Ryia smiled. "You should leave." She said, knowing well that they wouldn't. She then ducked as one leapt over her head, narrowly missing her head as it snapped down at her. Ryia frowned and she hit it with her staff, using a little magic as she did so the Shade was flown half way across town, probably to it's 'death'.

Now there were two shades left, and one was already wounded from the lightning defence spell she had placed on the church. As the larger one advanced on her Ryia moved backward and she seemed to fall and the shade took advantage, moving at a quick speed to claw at her, only to claw through an illusion, it's shadowy claws going through thin air. Ryia quickly appeared behind it and tapped it's head with her staff, sending bright light shining throughout it, and exploding it, into fog.

Then she turned to the last one, only to notice it gone. She smiled, maybe it had scared off, she turned her back only to be thrown down as the wounded one leapt at her, pushing her to the ground as it's shadowy teeth bared at her face. Ryia froze and she glanced at her staff which she'd dropped from the impact. As she reached out with her right hand to grab it she placed her left arm over her face as the shade bit down.

  • The dirt under Sairen's feet grew damp and dyed red. He gradually became light headed due to the blood loss, but his focus remained true as he and the shade were at a standstill, eyeing each other in defensive stances. Sairen looked at his arm, He winced as it pulsated, however his heartbeat remained calm and steady, he waited for his opportune moment, drew a tanto from the sheath strapped to his calf. And took off towards the monster clashing blade to blade. Sparks flew from one side to the other. The monster roared furiously as it caught Sairen's Tanto between both of its arms and snapped the blade in two, throwing Sairen flying towards the entrance of the village. Sairen growled as he forced himself to bear through the stinging and burning of getting dirt and rocks in his wound. Sairen began pulling throwing knives out of every pouch he had easy access to. The shade charged rampantly dissipating and reforming with every knife that went through it.

Sairen knew he was in trouble. He drew his Katana and defended the beasts onslaught of vicious attacks. He began thinking of how he might hurt and kill the beast, he had fought shades before but none of this caliber. "Fire, fire might work right?" Sairen pulled out two small make shift bombs. Two balls of parchment filled with gravel, leaves, and flamable powder made from scratch, with the finishing touch of a wick that stuck out of the top, "Follow me, hideous burlap sack of horse dung." Sairen called out and began running into the village scraping his katana against buildings to create sparks, "Light, Light you cursed wicks" He mumbled as he held the bombs up to the sparks finally one of the wicks lit. "YES!" he exclaimed. He lit the other bomb with the already lit wick on the other, turned to face the monster then leaped backwards and tossed the bombs. A large explosion followed by a cry from the injured and possibly dead monster that once pursued him.

The force of the blast however threw Sairen deeper into the village and against the wall of the village inn, He struggled to stand back up, he had given all he had to give, he had lost too much blood. He brought himself up to stand and saw more shades fighting a strange man and a woman he recognized as the innkeeper. He rolled his eyes and shook his head, "What are you doing?" He whispered to himself, He rushed to their side, "I can't offer much but im here help in anyway i can." Just then he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder so great he couldn't help but yell in pain. He attempted to drop to his knees but couldn't as the pain worsened. He weakly turned his head to see the shade he was just previously fighting, with one of its blades straight through his shoulder, "Looks like you got the best of me.. well done.." He said in a very strained tone. The shade removed the blade and Sairen fell to ground, unable to move, unable to speak, but still conscious.

  • Vraedys Thorne

"Alright, I THINK I've figured this out!" Vraedys declared to himself, having spent the previous minute trying to figure out the layout of the village of Chillborn. "If it was dark and hard to see, then I took a left, and it was STILL dark and hard to see, that means that this ETERNAL NIGHT IS REALLY, REALLY ANNOYING!".

The Alchemist grumbled angrily to himself, crouching down to pick up a stick and taking one a matchsticks from his bag. "Alright, I can use some old rags and rap them around this, then douse it a small amount of oil and light it on fire, creating a torch!". Vraedys suddenly paused, realising he could've just lit a match to provide light the entire time, and let out a loud, agitated sigh. "I wish I had somebody to accuse right now..." The man mused to himself, throwing the stick he'd just picked up into the bushes and lighting his match.

Spending another minute or two going around the town, this time with at least some form of light, the Alchemist eventually managed to find some people: A strange creature that wasn't a shade, but definitely didn't look like a regular beast, a woman, and a man. The wolf looked like it was doing to brunt of the fighting, with the woman attempting to help, and the man... collapsing. They were out near the front of some kind of inn, which meant there wasn't much room to hide.

Well, no guts, no glory. Or something like that.

"Attention, FOOLS, DOGS, AND DYING FOOL! You have been blessed to receive the assistance of Vraedys Thorne! Master of Plagues and Grand Strategist!" Vraedys announced, firing a crossbow bolt at the shade that had been assaulting Sairen.

As grateful as he was that he brought a torch, the wolf was still tilted slightly by how he was addressed,"excuse, Mister Master Loud-Mouth, I prefer the term wolf." Tilting his head slightly with a glare, he was tempted to attack him, "mistaking" him for a shade as well. However, they did have an injured nearby, countless innocents in the area, and an unknown amount of shades trying to get at all of them. Before he could act anymore, he noticed something odd. All of the shades seemed to be retreating. At least, that's what it looked like at first.

The shades had began falling back, but in the same direction. They all began forming in a mass, coming together as one large mixture of dark beings. The longer you would watch, the more most would fill with fear in how big it had gotten. It towered over the city, and the creature which first was made up of countless gas-like forms, now held a solid dark shape, almost like tendrils endless wrapped within themselves. It took a humanoid shape and in it's right hand seemed to become a blade, also taking a solid shape. The beast raised it arm, aiming to smash it down to hit the four that were grouped up for the most part, but froze when a new shape appeared.
A figure that seemed to come out of nowhere rushed into the town, moving straight through Ryia's shield, right past Vivian, and right past the other four, meeting the beast head on. No one had time to catch who it was, or what it was, but in a flash he was gone. A few seconds past by and the giant being dissipated and separated back into almost as many as was used to form back up. Standing on the ground, the figure was still enough to be seen for the most part. He had a cloak and a hood, so no defined features were seen, but it did look human.
It rose a hand towards the scattering shadows, and all of them froze, then slowly closed in to the palm of it's hand. The shades screeched in anger as they all seemed to be sucked into an invisible black hole. Within seconds they were gone, and the palm slammed shut. Silence filled the village once more as the figure turned towards the four. Taking slow steps towards them, a masculine hand rose to it's hood and slipped it off. He was male, with medium length black hair and piercing red eyes. He gave off a feeling of power, yet it wasn't overbearing. Despite how he carried himself, something weighed heavy on his expression. His gaze shifted from Vraedys, to the wolf, to Lady Belle, then to Sairen's. His voice carried to all of them as he spoke smoothly,"I would appreciate all of you waiting here. There's two more I wish to fetch first."
To those who knew the appearance of the guardians, it was clear who this was. Nyltyx, the Guardian of Darkness, making an appearance in a time of great suffering. It seems as though he was there to give answers. With a snap of his fingers, two shadows of him rushed from his feet, forming up quickly, and zipped away. One was quick to find Vivian, something about her was alluring to the Guardian. Something about her gave him a homely feeling, but that's not why he was there. The shadow stood in front of her, and formed into his human shape completely,"If you may follow me, there's a few people I'd like you to meet." He had a plan forming in his mind, and at this point, the more the merrier.
The second shadow made itself visible in front of Ryia, but outside her protection. He took shape and tilted his head slightly. He was impressed. Her powers were enough to keep out his shadows, so all he could do was ask politely,"excuse me, ma'am. If you wish to help the world in more ways than just protecting one building, I request your appearance with a couple of new friends. Follow me, and I will take you to them."

  • Ryia had been ready to deal with the pain that would bite down on her arm, but it had gone the instant she had reached out and grabbed her staff. She stood up, confusion clearly written on her face, but she was alive and unharmed, and the building was safe and also undamaged. She sent a prayer to the God she believed in, and she straightened her dress, beginning to walk towards the church building, that's when she noticed it, a gigantic being, it looked like a shade, but more solid. Her staff at the ready she stood her ground, watching it from afar. But something happened, she couldn't tell from where she was, all she could do was watch and guess.

Soon enough though the answer came in the form of a shadow, protected from her shield Ryia went closer, listening to it and thinking upon it's question. She blinked and nodded, coming out of her shield, but staying alert and ready, she walked with the shadow, unknowing where she was going, but knowing that if she was needed to save the world, then she would go, it was the will of God to protect the innocent, and the church/building would hold up for a while even if she wasn't there. Plus there were other... monks there, who would be able to protect it, albeit not as well, their abilities were waning but they were enough to be able to protect the building and those who resided in it. She looked at the shadow again before continuing to walk along with it.

  • Sairen managed to gather what very little strength he had left to stand and lean against a wall, If there ever was one quality that could be noticed about him it was his stubbornness, and phenomenal stamina. as they waited for the two unknown guests to show up Sairen pulled out one of his throwing knives and held it in the flames of one of the lanterns nearby. He used the scorching hot steel the close any open wounds he had. With a few grunts and growls of severe pain, all his wounds were closed and the bleeding had been stopped.

Sairen took time to inspect the stranger, this being of seemingly limitless power. Sairen smirked, while he did spend most of his life dedicated to the ways of the shadows he never would have imagined that the guardian he heard and idolized from the legends actually existed. "What have i stumbled into sister dearest." Sairen whispered to himself grasping the sketch of his sister in his left hand. Sairen attempted to stand without the help of the wall but all that did was make him feel incredibly woozy. He fell backward back onto the wall and slowly slid down, eventually sitting down on the ground. Sairen began inspecting all the people around him and making as many educated guesses about who they were and what their personalities were based on what he could see.

The wolf took a seat, unsure of exactly what was going on, but considering this being just took down all of the shades in one move, he had a reason to take control of the situation. He wondered who these friends were that this man were fetching. The shifter laid eyes on one of them, recognizing her garb to be a priest or monk of some sort. Mainly because he caught sight of them a little bit after having first arrived in town. One of them gave him a stern talking to after attempting to flirt with one of the monks. He wondered if this girl was that one.
He wasn't sure, he was bad with remembering faces, mostly on purpose. Turning his attention back to the man, still holding himself tall. It didn't take long for him to realize that this man was faking the strong stance. Something in his eyes showed exhaustion and defeat, and it was something he was obviously trying to hide. Despite that look, considering the deed, the wolf was more than willing to lend an ear.

Nyltyx looked off to the side, greeting Ryia with a nod as she arrived. Once the other had arrived, he began speaking, his voice still holding an odd projection to each of them,"As some of you may guess, the world is a bit out of balance as of late, and I assure you the culprit many jump to blaming, Nyltyx, is not the cause of all of this. How do I know? I am Nyltyx, Guardian of Darkness, and I am reaching out to you mortals for one reason. To help me set things straight. If you believe that this eternal night is giving me power, you are wrong. I am tired, and I am sick of keeping all of these creatures in check with their new potential for disaster. These attacks experienced on this village will be everywhere. And I don't think I, or you people can be everywhere at the same time. Everyday the moon shines a little less. My counterpart, Kolt, Guardian of Light, is also effected by this. Day by day, he loses strength, and becomes tired. The eye he keeps watching over this world is closing, and there's nothing I alone can do about it."

Nyltyx flicked his hand out to the side, and in front of him formed a map, completely black, but giving very precise details of the world they live in. With a flick of his wrist, 6 pillars rose from the model, each one in a different part of the world,"As you all may know there are six of us. Each of us holds this world in balance with the help of the others. You get rid of one of us, the rest will surely fall in one way or another, like you see now. If none of you have caught on to this yet, I'll say it plainly. Udarr is missing, or has been drained of his power. It is not the light or dark that has been directly attacked, it is time itself. Let's just be glad that the flow of time has not been altered by whoever is responsible. While the result of this may not seem to drastic right away, allow me to tell you how this effects everyone."

With each of his next lines, he created an image out of shadows to go along with it,"If time is not moving, the natural flow of everything cannot stay constant. Plant cycles cannot be processed, meaning plants cannot die, and cannot reproduce. This will lead to a lack of resources available to everyone, because of how much they will be harvested. All of this also applies to other living beings. Sure you can give it a shot, but with time not moving, no one is aging. This includes children that have not been born yet. Until this gets fixed, no one is starting any families, including those well on their way of giving birth. Creation has come to a complete halt. Along with this, while death of old age has been eliminated, other causes will become more apparent. Murders from the madness, attacks from shades, animals getting restless, people becoming hungry, and more. Bearusk will have his hands full."
    ~ ~ ~
He cleared the air with another wave of his hand and cleared his throat, which caused him to have a coughing fit,"I could go on more about how it effects the rest of us, but I'm sure you get the point by now. I've been keeping a close eye on the world, given it is my time to. Many have tried fighting back, but you few are the only ones I've found able to truly handle yourselves well. So on behalf of the guardians, and the world, and all living things in it, I ask of you. Save us from our impending doom. Find whose responsible for this, and teach them a harsh lesson. So if you're in, make your way to the Kylak Sands. Report to me what has happened to Udarr. We'll go from there to figure out how to solve this. Remember, the best shot we have now is to work together. So I don't care about personality differences or beliefs. Remember the world ending effects all of you." With this, he snapped his fingers and vanished, leaving the town silent once more, and the group alone in the street.
