Skyflower tilted her head. "Why in the world would twolegs do that!?" She mewed.
In the shadows, Doku, a venomous king brown snake, slithered towards the group. That little gold one ought to be tasty enough, She thought, eyes landing on Skyflower. -
Sageclaw yowled and flung himself at the snake, claws extended.

Doku hissed, raising her head above the cat, then struck out, heading for his throat, mouth wide open, fangs dripping.
"Sageclaw!!" Skyflower yowled, but stayed put. Her instincts screamed at her to run, but her paws were glued to the ground underneath her. I've gotta run, run! Gotta get away! Move, feet! Move! Her pale blue eyes were wide in shock. -
Sageclaw gagged as the fangs ripped his throat out.
He fell to the ground, dead. -

Doku hissed at Heattail, then grabbed Sageclaw's body and dragged him until they were both out of sight.
Skyflower stood, stared, shocked. -
Sageclaw's glassy eyes stared blindly.
Blood leaked from his wound. -

Heattail layed down fainted from shock

Doku ate Sageclaw, unseen and unheard, and then lay down to take a nap.
Skyflower fainted.

Skyflower dreamed of a thousand snakes, crawling over and around Sageclaw's body, ripping him to pieces. They fought over the corpse, slithering in a pool of his blood.

Sageclaw's spirit refused to go. It hovered around Heattail, using her as an anchor.
