"Welcome aboard The Night's Victory," a mischievous voice says from over head. You look up to see a young girl at the wheel of a large black ship. You notice she is recruiting sailors. Why not join?

Helgraf took a swig out of his small canteen, filled with rum, as he remembered the day he'd join the crew of this ship... it truly felt like yesterday, the memory clear as day in his mind. Helgraf ran, already covered in sweat out of fear more than anything as another flintlock was fired, he was one of the few people who'd been caught still alive. He didn't even look over his shoulder as he heard one of the other people that had been found in the illegal fighting ring during the raid the authorities did on the place... didn't even bat an eye as he was shot in the back and fell to the ground. He'd hurried onto a ship in sheer panic, and was discovered later by the crew and ended up joining up with them. He'd become the captain's first mate, the first one she'd had, in about three or four months, after some hard work of course.

  • Sage sat in the captain's quarters. Her eyes gazed a absentmindedly over a map that lay on the desk. She listened to the noise of the crew outside the door. Her crew. She gave a slight smile. They were all she had. They had become her family and life. It wasn't exactly a happy family in all ways. They were violent and stubborn at times, but still a strange sort of family in a way. They were all she had now. It was a good life for her. She sighed turning her eyes back to the map.

Nathan stood out on the deck gazing over the rail of the ship into the bay waters were they were anchored in. He snorted watching the waves hit the boat slowly rocking it. "Ugh," he muttered under his breath. He basically hated most things. Including this boat. It was the most hated thing though so it was ok.

  • Caspian exited the kitchen to the deck to spot Nathan. His boots made light noises as he strolled over the kid that seemed to be gazing at the water. "Hey Kiddo." The voice came out friendly and smooth as he spoke. "Whatcha doing? Anything interesting?" Grinned on Caspian knowing he will need something else to do on this ship other than cooking, he needed time to relax. Caspian really needed to ask Sage about getting a garden on the ship, it would cost less money and would probably be fresher than the ones in markets.

  • Nathan glanced over at Caspian for a moment before turning his attention back to the water. He didn't know who this guy was. He scuffed his feet on the deck. He didn't really enjoy other people. They were often too quick to judge and always bossy and rude. It was common among pirates anyways. They were pushy and never respected privacy. "Nothing really," was his quick short answer. "Nothing interesting for that matter." Nathan looked back at Caspian for a moment. Well he assumed he was a crew member. One of the first to talk to him.

Celeste scurried past her many crewmates, earning curious glances as she headed for the Captain's Quarters with news on their voyage. Ever since she joined The Night's Victory she had instantly felt at home. Although some of the men scare her she finally had a group of people she could call family. "Captain, I have news..." Celeste said, lightly knocking on Captain Sage's door.

Kenton laughed along with a joke on one of his crewmates, even though he didn't get it, as he steered the ship toward the left. He was in a great mood, even though there wasn't any land in sight. When he joined he was skinny and weak, and now after six months he became one of the strongest men on board. Focusing back on the open sea, a giant grin plastered itself on his face.

After finishing off his drink Helgraf hopped up to his feet from the barrel he was sitting on and headed to the captain's quarters. He knocked on the door and entered the quarters, "Captain, the lads you sent out to sell those... acquired goods have been gone good for a few hours. I'm thinkin' they've got themselves in a little trouble."

  • "Well that's too bad." Caspian said cheerfully. "Assuming that you don't know me, I'm Caspian the cook of this ship. What's your name?" His hand was brought up to his chest as he lightly placed it there in a gesture of saying 'my' shortly after he lowered it again for he was no longer talking about himself. It was interesting that they haven't met Caspian thought he knew all of the crew members but apparently only knew few. Was it possible that this 'kid' was new to the ship. Caspian shrugged he guessed it didn't matter to him if the kid was new he was happy the crew was growing and that there was more people to feed.

  • Sage stood up from the desk as two of her crew members entered the room. "One moment Celeste," she said to her navigator. She turned her focus on Helgraf. She pondered the information. "They most definitely should have returned by now if not a while ago," she said her eyes narrowed picturing what could have happened. "Did you know where they were trying to sell? We had best go after them. I don't want them to in anyway get involved in anything, nor do I wish to lose good payment."

  • Nathan gave him a brief nod of greeting only being half polite for he didn't quite look directly at Caspian. "You're right to assume I don't know you," he said. "Nathan. I'm Nathan." Nathan silently hoped that this Caspian fellow would get his fill of talking and move on soon. He was too cheerful and welcoming. Normally that wouldn't be a bad thing to most people, but considering Nathan trusted no one, in his eyes even these types of people could easily only be seeking information.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; font-family: arial; letter-spacing: -2px; font-size: 19pt; text-shadow: 1px 1px 1px black; margin-top: -2px; color: COLOR;][i][b]A long, long, time ago... in a galaxy far away... Naboo was under an attack.[/fancypost]

Helgraf nodded, "My thoughts exactly Captain... they were out selling something that's not entirely legal according to the, authorities. I think they may have been caught with the items, Captain, and if we lose those items we lose a very expensive bit of cargo, which I don't think we can really afford to lose."

  • "Nothing is illegal for a pirate," scoffed Sage. "Let's get together some of the crew to go and find them. We had better do it quickly. If they are caught who knows how long it will be before they give away some information they shouldn't." Sage moved around from her side of the desk over by Helgraf. "And I think next time we shall send out more reliable men with our source of income."

  • Caspian smiled at Nathan now instead of grinning at his own joke. "Well if you have any foods you would like me to cook for the crew, or just for you just ask! I don't mind." Examining Nathan more carefully he felt like he was making him uncomfortable. "Am I bothering you, Nathan? I don't mind leaving you to be alone if I am." Maybe grabbing some tea for Nathan was a good idea along with some for the captain and others, it would also be a good excuse for talking to the captain about the garden he wanted. Possibly he should save it for another time? The captain could be busy at the current time and not be able to worry about Caspian's gardening wishes.

Helgraf nodded, "Of course nothing's illegal for a pirate... though the authorities seem to think differently." He allowed himself a chuckle before nodding, "Seems the two lads we sent out are a bit less tough than we hoped they'd be... I myself truly expected more from the lads, though sometimes what we expect and what we get are very different things."

"I'll let you know on the food thing," said Nathan. What he said was odd for Nathan to hear. Normally it was the other way around, that Nathan was bothering others. He enjoying being a bit of a bother. It taught people to avoid him and his temper. Nathan just shrugged in response to the question of if he was being bothered. Of course he wanted him to go away, but he didn't exactly state it aloud.

  • "Quite the true statement," said Sage agreeing with him. "I expect that who we choose to go after them will not end up in the same situation. I don't want to be losing anything today. We certainly can't afford this right now." The last part was in more of a hushed tone to herself. The ship's income hadn't been that great as of lately and she hated to lose what they would get profit out of. "We had best head out right away."

  • Caspian nodded "I'm usually in the kitchen if you need me but I do think I have to start cooking something." His head bobbed in a nod as he turned on his heel to head back into the kitchen. Pushing open the door he began to gather ingredients for later after he delivered his tea. Of course it was most likely that many were going to turn it down because to them there was still perfectly good run in the storage but that doesn't mean he couldn't try. They were going to ruin their liver if they kept drinking like they had no worries but he guesses it wasn't his problem. Filling a kettle with water from a jug that was stored in the kitchen he placed it on the stove throwing some wood in a the compartment below to start to warm up.

  • Nathan listened to Caspian's footsteps retreating. He gazed for a while back at the water then decided he should probably do something productive. He wasn't sure how strict this ship was. How harshly did they punish? He knew nothing. He was always trying out new ships with new crews and new captains. All ships were different. He never seemed to stick around on one for very long. He always moved on to something else, but a pirate's life was all he knew.

Helgraf nodded, "I'll gather up a few of the more... reliable lads to help us go after them." Helgraf headed off to find a few crewmen he trusted to help them go after the group of men who had failed them in the endeavor, knowing that they well and truly needed the items that were sent out or they would be making nearly no profit.

    Last post for the night

  • Sage nodded to him as he walked out. She trusted Helgraf to pick good men who would recover what they needed. She knew that if they got back what they were seeking they would probably be noticed still. They had to be ready to move the ship out of this port. She then she turned to Celeste. "Now what can I help you with?" She asked. Sage wanted to make sure any crew member with a issue could come to her. She was glad when they did.

OOC: Goodnight! This will be my last post also. I'm tired. Must endure more school tomorrow, but no drama practice.
