    @Mana : That's no good... that's actually something I really can't stand - people disrespecting other peoples' culture / religion / etc. :^( I think a friend of mine who's also of Native American descent said something along the lines of that it's supposed to be reserved for males of the American Plains Indians who are worthy of the highest respect, and that it's an item of great spiritual and political importance, correct?


    Have you tried talking to them via pm to explain why it offends you? It's one thing if they meant to do it on purpose, but if they're just uninformed then I think that it's just a misunderstanding. However, if you did already tell them the significance of it and they're still calling it a "headdress", then maybe you could either block them, or ask a staff member to help you resolve the issue in private? I'd probably try either one or both of those options if it were me.

    @mana : jfc the things some celebrities do these days,,, they can be so insensitive and it makes me really mad too, honestly. like katy perry had a performance some time ago and the outfit she wore was,,, not something she was supposed to wear and some people (like my friends and i) were a little put off tbh. people really ought to take the time to do research and appreciate and at least make some effort to understand other peoples' cultures before they start getting in too fast without really knowing what they're doing.
