Hello! I'm very new and I was wondering what to do about roleplaying. Should I just make my own thread of roleplay or spontaneously join someone else's?

Padding in the forest Nightclaw made his way threw the undergrowth, he mumbled to himself before catching the scent of a mouse, thankfully he was downwind and as he snuck to get it he stepped on a branch which cracked. Stupid Branch! he mumbled he looked around for the mouse but it was gone. -
Looking up the tom spotted Blackshade "Hello" he replied looking around for the mouse but then back at her "What brings you over here?" he asked curiously.
