The Blushing Ghoul {Male human needed, PAFP}

Rei... has never stepped once into the human world. Her world was always constricted... controlled, everything and everyone masquerading around with masks. And she... had always learned to do the same. She was a noblewoman of the Lords of Night, the secret vampire society hidden away from the human world and she was brought up to kill... all humans. The Lords of Night was somewhat like a vampiric cult in a way, with their ways being cemented into every single way of life... in fact, Rei never has even laid eyes upon the human world, her eyes always being shadowed by her kind's determination to kill. Humans had nearly hunted her race to extinction in the days she could remember well... but now as she could only see from a distance the nearby human city with their sparkling.. strange lights, she could only wonder... what was it like over there? She never even dared to step outside though, not once in her nine hundred years of being alive. However, even now she was pricked with curiosity to just explore... to simply taste the world that she never experienced. She always did have a love for adventure after all... But tonight.. she just might do it. Tonight, she might dare take the chance and step out into the strange world that her heart seemed to be calling her to it. Was it the thrill? The danger? The mystery? Well, she couldn't decide either way. However, part of her was making her hesitate... should she really try to sneak away? She was a noble after all... surely... she would not shirk her duties would she? But, she of course shook those pest of thoughts away, she was going to have an adventure, she was determined to. No one else shared her feelings about the humans, how curious she was about them... she surely was going to investigate.

As she slipped away during the cover of night using her kind's super ability of speed, she felt an overwhelming freedom. Yet, she felt... cautious. Was she making the right choice of trying to interact with the ones she called prey? Yes, she did hunt them. She found nothing wrong with it, they were after all humans.. however they only gave her some sort of burning curiosity about their society and how they interacted... their strange ways, strange voices, their clumsiness.. everything. She wanted to know more and she comforted herself with this thought. Yes, she would learn about these mysterious humans... but how? As she stepped upon the edge of the city, she shivered as she took in a breath. The sights and smells were strange... and she knew she shouldn't have worn just her nightgown in her haste to get away, it was almost frigid.. too much for her standards. Wrapping her slender arms around her tiny frame, she continued to walk, picking up all the strange smells and sounds. Weird greasy food... people speaking to each other in their strange tongue though she could vaguely understand, and the human's strange clothing... everything was as if it was alien to her. However, she did not notice the stares she was attracting, with her long brown hair framing a delicate, gentle face, her rosy lips parted in shocked wonder, her unusual red eyes seemed to constantly be surprised, and her pale skin as if she had not seen the light of sunlight ever, as well as the fact that she was wearing.. well her nightgown, and that really didn't do much to cover her, showing almost every curve of her petite body.. and the fact she was barefoot... it was rather bizarre. But Rei was far too interested in everything around her to take notice of the stares she was attracting, her eyes brightening up at the slightest thing that she saw, only to look upon it in curiosity.

Rei paused as soon as she stopped in front of a nearby store, her wide red eyes taking in everything though she tilted her head. She heard of these things the vampires said the humans called... mannequins? She found it odd how they were wearing clothing, was it some weird custom? And they were so strange too... of course to anyone it would just be a regular everyday clothing store. However, after a few moments only then did she seem to notice the gaze of someone, turning her head, her red eyes met the human's blue and she tilted her head as if questioning his stare. She didn't look away either... she wondered why he was so sweaty.. it was rather cool after all and she noticed that humans only sweat when they were overheated... did his body work differently than other humans? This only prompted more questions to come to her mind as she stared at him in bewilderment. She didn't know what she was wearing was.. well odd. And she didn't particularly know why she was being stared at so intently... did she do something wrong?

She blinked as soon as he began to approach her. Just what was this human doing? He was spiking her curiosity though... normally prey should run away from a predator yes? So why was this human approaching her? Why was he messing up his hair? She found him very odd, and so she tilted her head slightly, her brow furrowing as if a tiny bit confused. However she didn't move away, he didn't look as if he was coming to threaten her so.. she supposed she should allow him to approach. After all she did want to learn more about humans, this was the whole purpose of her adventure after all.

Eh? Number... what was this bizarre human talking about? She however had to smile a little bit at how he seemed to stand up completely straight... was he trying to intimidate her? How adorable! However she was still confused over what he had said, what was this 'number' that he had asked her for? She finally spoke, her voice sounding like the soft chime of bells, almost with a musical, softness to it that was quite unusual... exotic almost, yet at the same time polite and calm, "..Number? I'm afraid I do not have a number." She looked still confused on what he was saying, however she seemed curious about him though as if he had caught her attention. However even through the human sweat... she could smell his blood and it was... intriguing her how strong a scent it gave off, she almost felt tempted to have a taste... no. She would not prey on humans, at least not for awhile until she absolutely have to. But, the curious expression she was giving him, it almost made her seem... cute, like a cute innocence had crossed her face as she stared up at him.

This only confused her more by the disappointed expression upon his face and the response he had... what was he talking about? Did she... offend him? The thought horrified her, however as she watched him turn away a cold shiver cross over her as if she was suddenly cold... she really regretted not wearing more layers of clothes. But the body heat coming off of the human.. maybe.. Rei then quickly moved forward and grabbed his hand, though quickly going under his arm and moving close to his side, surprised at the utter warmth he supplied and she relaxed. "..Warm.." Her skin though felt very cold to the touch.. icy cold, as if she was submerged within icy waters for hours. Honestly, she felt almost envious.. she did notice humans were in fact warm, however his warmth was particularly nice, especially since it was so cold.

She was content when he placed his arm around her since the warmth was was a relief against the cold, however she was surprised when he had handed his sweatshirt to her and willingly accepted it, putting it on though it easily dwarfed her with how big it was. A hum of satisfaction escaped her, however it was cut off by a tiny sound of surprise when he pulled her closer towards him, she almost didn't know what to think. The vampires that she was around said that humans were cruel... however, she wasn't so sure about that now. This strange human was acting so nice, though she was sure she just happened to run across him out of luck. She was well aware how cruel humans were, and she didn't allow herself to be fooled easily. However, she had to admit... the warmth did make her relax, and yet being so near to the human she definitely could hear his blood running through his veins in which it took every ounce of her self control to stop herself from biting him. She moved closer to him though, saying a quiet, "Thank you." She should be thanking him after all.. he was being so very nice to her, she was almost stunned into disbelief at how kind he was... he certainly had caught her attention, that much was certain.

Rei paused and tilted her head at the humans that had appeared, bewildered by why this human- identified now as Alex, was trying to walk the other direction. Surely they could just walk past with no problems right? She looked up at him, her wide red eyes gazing upon him in confusion. It really seemed as if she was oblivious to how potentially dangerous this situation was with how poorly dressed she was in the first place with only her thin nightgown and Alex's sweatshirt as the only things she was wearing at that moment, from a human's point of view this didn't look too good. However, by glancing towards the humans, she noticed how they seemed like a flock of sheep, all seeming to be in a group... she could already tell that they had ill intentions. But she wasn't scared, in fact it was quite the opposite. She was so utterly curious about how human nature was like, she almost felt tempted to walk forward, but something held her back from doing so. Stepping slowly backward, she took cover behind Alex, peeking out from behind him. She knew she could take care of the humans herself if she wanted to, however she wondered what this human she had found was capable of. She glanced up once more and her tiny hands gripped his arm slightly tighter, as if seeking protection. She was quite good at playing different roles... she was taught to after all.

Rei was startled at his brave comment. Quite unusual.. however her eyes narrowed at the gang members. She... honestly didn't want Alex to go forward by himself. Indecisiveness took over her, would she fulfill her role as the maiden in distress or will she act to save this human from harm... because honestly the odds weren't in his favor as far as she could see. However she was spurred into action as soon as Alex began to walk towards them, "W-wait!" She ran after him, quickly standing in front of him and faced the gang members, holding her head up high as she said sternly, "I won't let you hurt him." It was... adorable, endearing in a way, how she was valiently trying to protect him but her tiny size... well it was laughable, it was as if she was a tiny kitten baring her teeth at them. However, it was clear she was warning them and quite frankly she was absolutely serious.

Rei's eyes narrowed as soon as one of them reached out towards her she struggled not to laugh. This human is challenging me? Very well. She looked back towards Alex and smiled, then immediately, her hand flashed out, grabbing the gang member's and and crushing it with startling strength as she quickly used the opportunity to punch him directly in the stomach not bothering to hold back her strength and knocking him backwards. It all happened so quickly it was startling in a way, and soon majority of them were on the floor injured from either broken arms or simply stunned only leaving the gang leader left. She straightened up and turned towards him, smiling, "Please, reconsider your chances next time. You won't likely get away with any mercy." She was in a calm position now, her arms behind her back as she was still smiling cutely at the gang leader, though there was a clear warning in her eyes. Though this was... shocking to day the least. One small girl taking down majority of a gang single handedly with such surprising strength and ease... it was unnatural in a way, and the fact she was still smiling despite having done the damage she did.. it didn't really fit the situation well. However, her gaze flickered to Alex, slightly worried that she might have done something wrong.. she was just trying to protect him after all..

She hesitated seeing the blood pool on the ground... she was transfixed by it. However she snapped out of it as soon as Alex told her to run, she... wanted to help.. but she didn't understand why he was helping what was his enemies, or at least she assumed they were... shouldn't he just leave them to die? This human was confusing her.. then again maybe she did do something wrong.. was she not supposed to fight them? But this time, she had decided to obey. She frowned, though she nodded her head and she ran off, though she purposefully slowed her pace as to not seem too suspicious, after all she judged from his facial expression that what she just did was not normal... and she wanted to still have the guise of a human.. she honestly didn't want to ruin it. She didn't run off far though, only going down a few alleys and hiding behind a giant green container that she honestly hated the smell of it, and huddled there, hiding from sight. Her head bowed as she stared at the ground, more convinced as seconds ticked by that what she did was excessive and wrong.
