He was not far behind with a squirrel and fish dangling from his jaws, his eyes scanning camp. It had been a long morning, and his body felt achy. He dropped the kill into the pile and bathed himself, giving extra attention to his paws and chest.

Katana deposited two mice and a squirrel onto the pile before deliberately ignoring her mentor's existence and stalking off to the apprentices den.
Canary went to the leader, "If you'll have us, we would like to stay." She repeated formally.

The medicine cat woke up. She yawned, her eyes glistening with light. She walked over to the tow apprentices. "You two apprentices need to work. Get going." She ordered, walking out of the den and stretching.

the head medicine cat sighed gently and left her restricted area of the den, her long tail flicking gently. izumi narrowed her eyes slightly, watching as the medicine cat ordered around two apprentices (which apprentices).aimi smiled at canary happily, "by the way, if you want to see if you can help in the medicine den and with herbs and such, i would suggest talking to the head medicine cat. her name is izumi hikaru, but just call her izumi." aimi told the younger feline softly, "she's the pretty she-cat with the two different colored eyes and white and wispy grey fur." she explained the appearance of the young, head medicine cat quite well, and she carefully gestured in the direction of the feline that stood at the entrance of the medicine den.

Canary smiled at Aimi, dipping her head again in gratitude, "Thank you." She replied, her eyes shown gratefully. She then dashed off to the medicine den, seeking the cat named Izumi hikaru.
Hail and Feather dashed from the apprentices den at word their littermates were back and found Dare. They chatted again, a constant buzz of noise, and Dare seemed pretty amused at his littermates' enthusiasm.

She looked at Canary and waved her tail kindly. "Who are you seeking?" He asked, her blue eyes shining. She saw how the young cat was requesting to help the medicine cats

Canary turned to the new voice with a smile, "The leader, I believe her name was Aimi, told me to find Izumi hikaru." She answered

izumi padded up to the younger felines, smiling slightly. the head medicine cat only ever smiled around her fellow medicine cats, a few of the apprentices, and the higher-ups, other than that it was very rare to see her crack a smile, even a slight one. "your name is canary, right?" she inquired softly, carefully meeting the younger cats' gaze with her uniquely colored eyes.
she glanced at naoki and smiled at her apprentice, personally she liked teaching naoki the most because she was fairly patient, but to be honest she cared for all of her apprentices. izumi glanced back to canary, awaiting any sort of response the young cat may have. -
Canary nodded her head and then dipped it in respect for the older cat, "Yes. I assume you are Izumi Hikaru. Aimi told me to find you about helping out with healing."

the medicine cat smiled kindly, before nodding to the she-cat. "i am izumi hikaru. but if you like you can just call me izumi, or izzy. it's really whatever you prefer." she said with a slight shrug before addressing what she really came here to talk about. "i'd love the help. perhaps, if you like, i could take you as an apprentice for a time along with the other three medicine cats we have. i could talk to aimi about it and see if she'll allow it if you'd like." izumi said softly, her voice angelic and pleasing to the ears, she was always happy to take another cat under her 'wing'. -
Canary perked up with the news, "Really?" She asked excitedly, "I would be honored if you would." She added.

Canary's eyes were bright at the older cat. She dipped her head again, "Thank you." She said gratefully, "I promise, I won't disappoint you."

izumi smiled to the younger one, "i have confidence you won't disappoint me." she purred softly, glancing down at her new apprentice, "canary, what do you know about herbs so far?" the head medicine cat asked, tilting her head slightly to one side while she awaited an answer. -
Canary smiled, "I know how to treat a common cold or a cough, Dare got plenty of those when we were outside of the clan. I also know that marigold can be used for infections, and cobwebs can be used to stop bleeding. Dare was also pretty reckless with thorn bushes. Poppy seeds can put you to sleep, Dare experimented with that one and didn't like the results. And... juniper berries are what you can use for... a sore throat?" She thought to herself, trying to recall other bits and pieces of information she may have missed, "There are some herb patches right outside your territory, too. I sniffed around, there was no Cherryblossomclan scent there, so you haven't found them. I could show you, if you like."

izumi nodded gently, listening to canary list off the generic medical herbs, "that's amazing how much you know, that means i don't have to spend too much time teaching you the basics." she purred gently, chuckling softly. the head medicine cat heard what canary said about the herb patch and nodded, "that'd be good to know where it is in case we run out of herbs..." she mumbled mostly to herself, but nodded to canary, "would you mind showing me now?"
